Staring in the face of his former girlfriend, who suddenly accused him of domestic violence, is one thing he didn't see coming. He doesn't understand. He never treated her badly, so why is she doing this?
Is it to get back at him for breaking up with her?
But she's the one who cheated on him with other guys for money.
Silas looked up at his best friend, James, who had a worried look on his face. James said in a somber voice, "I'm worried you might get called by one of the teachers, and you might get expelled because of this."
Silas almost felt sick to his stomach. His college is all he has left, and he spent tons of scholarship money on getting into this college. If he were able to see this video, then those people, such as teachers or the principal, can see them as well on their phones.
What would they think of him now? Someone who likes to raise their hand on their loved ones, girlfriends, or someone who's a wife or girlfriend beater?
As he gets deeper into his dark thoughts, his shoulders are shaken by James, who notices he is getting absent. His mind was trapped somewhere in his dark mind.
"Stop. Don't ponder on useless things. Right now, we need to come up with a plan and expose that bitch's true nature."
James smiles with a cold, chilling grin, and he says with a wicked smirk, "And I have a perfect plan."
Silas almost felt a shudder seeing his smile and was grateful that he never provoked him. James isn't someone to be bullied and isn't a weak person or a weak-minded individual.
Silas asked with a worried frown, "Tell me your plan before you do something about it."
James smirked at him with that devilish smile, and he looked around the empty room like a mischievous child. And he said with his phone in his hand, "Simple, we will expose her nature by recording a video of her at her house. You will call her and confront her, asking her why she's doing this, and I will probably hide somewhere, but I will be near, capturing everything on the phone."
Silas wasn't sure about the plan, but it was better than nothing. It was something he could start with. He nods his head with a determined look, and he says with a determined voice, "Thanks, man."
James waved his gratitude away like a breeze, and he said with a bright, cheery smile, "That's what friends are for. If someone bullied you, they will have to go through me first."
James smirked and grabbed him by the shoulder and threw his arms around him like friends do. Silas was almost comforted, James's strength a soothing balm on his cracked soul.
James's calm voice enters his ears, "Right now, don't do anything until the end of the day. You need to act normal and not react. If you do, you're proving them right about what she said. It will only make you look guilty."
Silas nods his head with an understanding look, "Okay."
They stepped into the halls, voices echoing around them like chaotic music. Everyone was moving around them, avoiding them like a disease. Few of them glanced at them, especially at Silas, like he was some kind of a monster. An evil one.
Some of them whispered near their friends, and Silas could hear their words, and he did his best to ignore them.
"Why do they let him come here? He should be expelled."
"That evil monster should be arrested for what he did to that poor girl. She suffered a lot under his hands."
"Yeah. You're right. Poor girl, she had so many bruises on her arms, neck, and face. What kind of person can do that to another human being?"
Silas ignored it all, his heart beating like a drum. He ignored it all—the stares, the sneers, the pitying looks, and the insults. They aren't worth any of it; they know nothing at all.
Silas stopped before his classroom, and he pushed James's arms away from his shoulder. He looked at James with a lifted brow. "Are you not going to class?"
James huffed due to his movement, and he rubbed his arms like he had been smacked hard. He said with a cheery grin, "Fine, jerkhead. I'll get going."
However, James's face turned serious like a rock, and he asked, "Are you sure you can do this?"
Silas knew he was only worried about him, but in the end, he'd have to deal with this, face them head-on. Hiding in his room like a scaredy-cat won't solve anything. It will only make him look guiltier.
Besides, the truth will be revealed. And the truly guilty one will pay heavier consequences for these heavy accusations.
Silas nods with a simple smile. "Yeah. I got this. I'm not as weak as I look."
James looked at him with a heavy gaze, his eyes observing his face. After making sure he was certain, James smiled normally and nodded his head. He turned around and walked further down the hall.
Silas waited patiently until he saw James's back disappear, and he knocked on the door, and he heard a faint voice, "Come in."
Silas walked into the classroom, and multiple students stopped what they were doing. They stared at him bluntly and looked at him like a guilty man.
Silas ignored them and was about to head into his normal seat until he heard the teacher's disdainful voice, "You can't sit there. Go sit at the end of the row."
Silas turned to look at the teacher with a frown, and he asked, "Why? I always sit here."
The teacher, known as Mrs. Adam, looked at him with disapproval radiating from her face. Her eyes flashed with complete disgust, and she said with a veiled contempt in her voice, "Sorry, there was a change of seats. You don't have the right to argue with me. Go sit in the back like I asked."
Silas and the teacher stared at each other. Not breaking down, and the students were silent, waiting for a good show. Each of them was watching like hungry hyenas for a good piece of meat.
