Deep within the heart of the Makeke jungle, on Planet Sabiru in the Fiery Crimson star system — two hundred thousand light-years from the Milky Way — lived a tribe called the Bayoka clan. They lived in peace, wielding some of the most advanced technology on all of Sabiru. That legacy traced back to their first great ancestor, Bayoka, a mortal who had ascended to the realm of the gods and become a god among gods.
Having learned the ways of the divine, Bayoka returned to found his clan alongside his sweetheart, Stella, a goddess of the god realm herself. Together they descended to the Makeke jungle, far from the world they'd left behind, and began to build a family. Drawing on the knowledge of the gods, they reshaped the very physiques of their descendants through genetic modification.
Though most beings across the cosmos wore different faces and forms, none of the Bayoka clan resembled their founding ancestors. Instead, each was born with two horns curling from their head and a long tail trailing from an otherwise humanoid frame. Eventually, Bayoka and his wife departed Sabiru for the god realm once more — a war against devils and demons had ignited, and they left to protect both their descendants and the other races of the galaxy.
Three thousand years passed. No word came of Bayoka or his goddess wife. Their names slipped into obscurity, until even within their own clan they survived only as an old story — a myth clansmen told to swell their pride. Yet the instructions and tools the founders had left behind endured, and through them the Bayoka clan held its place among the mightiest on the planet. People came from every corner of Sabiru to learn, live, or trade with them, and in time the clan's territory became the beating heart of the Makeke jungle itself.
Strict laws protected the jungle's purity, for it was sacred ground — the very place where the two founding ancestors had first set foot after descending from the god realm. The clan itself was far from uniform in blood; many bloodlines had mixed over the generations. But only those born with the true, genetically enhanced physique of the founders could rise to lead or hold positions of importance. These clansmen were faster, stronger, more agile, and longer-lived than their unmodified kin.
At the top stood three figures of supreme authority: the king, known as the royal father; the queen, called her eminence; and the eldest among them, the grand elder. The king oversaw law and order across their territories, the training of the younger generations, and all matters concerning the genetically enhanced. The queen managed the clan's dealings with the outside world and safeguarded its culture. The grand elder kept the ancient manuals and scrolls handed down by the founders, and it fell to him to examine every child born into the clan, bestowing upon each some relic of the ancestors' tradition.
As one of the most advanced clans in the entire Fiery Crimson star field, the Bayoka had no shortage of enemies — rivals whose eyes gleamed green with envy. To guard against them, the clan had carved out hidden bunkers and underground cities unknown to the outside world, known only to a select few among its elite.
Within those buried facilities lay cold storage vaults holding blood drawn from powerful races across the stars — even blood from gods and devils. It was there, deep in the earth, that the grand elder had begun his research, poring over the different bloodlines in search of answers for the clan's future.
During that study, he uncovered a secret buried within one of the manuals — one that bore no mark of any founding ancestor, but belonged instead to a being far older and more powerful, whose name had been lost. Inside was a map, charting a star region two light-years beyond the Fiery Crimson system.
Sabiru itself was a world of stark contrasts: forty-five percent dry land, the remainder split between water and ice — thirty-five percent ocean, twenty percent frozen waste — spread across a surface of 910.6 million square kilometers. Two moons hung in its sky, and its nights stretched longer than its days.
The grand elder brought his discovery to the king and queen, informing them that he intended to leave the Fiery Crimson star field entirely, to seek out the secret location the founders had once spoken of. Before departing, he entrusted the king with the passcodes and blueprints to the clan's lock systems, in case he never returned.
The king and queen urged him to bring one of the younger elite as a companion for the journey. He refused — and chose instead a boy of only thirteen, a nobody named Solanky.
Solanky was weak, unremarkable in strength, and endlessly mocked by his peers for the ashen gray hue of his skin. The other children called him the ghost of the void. Yet despite the cruelty, his mother never stopped believing in him — certain that one day her son would rise to become a figure as powerful as the founding ancestors themselves, or perhaps even greater.
Solanky lived on the outskirts of Makeke with his mother and younger sister, the latter blessed with the features of the clan's elite. Life on the fringes of Makeke was hard, shadowed by constant struggle and danger. But even at thirteen, Solanky possessed a sharpness and cunning far beyond his years, always seeming to have some hidden plan ready the moment trouble found him. It was this same cunning that led him to steal — sneaking manuals and tools away from the elite whenever they came to train on the outskirts.
