Because of the holiday break, the street outside the back gate of the school was crowded with college students. Every restaurant was packed, and many had set up tables and chairs on the sidewalks to accommodate more customers.
Walking down this street, the air was filled with the smells of barbecue, spicy dishes, and sweet and sour flavors. Every step brought a different aroma from the various eateries.
Ning Chu was starving.
So hungry!
It was almost eight, and he hadn't had dinner yet.
He jogged all the way to the entrance of the Sichuan restaurant, and from there, he spotted the food stall across the street. Wen Yang's tall and striking figure caught his eye immediately.
Seeing Wen Yang eased his anxiety a bit.
However, Wen Yang was accompanied by two girls. Luckily, he kept a respectful distance from them, showing no signs of being flirtatious.

Ning Chu's mind raced. What if one of the girls took advantage of the situation?
He furrowed his brow, debating whether to go over and carry Wen Yang back himself or wait for the gathering to end and let the other students help him back to the dorm.
The former option was difficult given his small frame; he couldn't carry Wen Yang, and even supporting him would be hard.
The latter option... If a plot was triggered, Wen Yang might not return tonight.
Ning Chu didn't hesitate for long. He walked straight to the food stall.
"Why did he suddenly collapse?" Han Jingye, the counselor who had initiated this gathering, was naturally present. He sat opposite Wen Yang, chuckling as he teased, "He can't hold his liquor, huh? Didn't seem like he drank much."
"Go inside and get a cup of hot water," he instructed one of the students. "Lin Li, can you tidy up the table and try to wake him up?"
"Sure~"
Lin Li giggled, her pointed ears perking up in excitement, her large tail swaying beneath her short dress.
Every gesture she made exuded incredible charm, causing the few male students at the table to look away awkwardly.

"Maybe I should take him back? I've had enough to eat anyway."
Han Jingye frowned slightly, hesitating before nodding. "I'll have someone help you."
"No need, I have my car."
Han Jingye felt a bit uneasy but nodded in understanding. "Alright, just help him into your car. This guy's nearly 1.9 meters tall."
"Lin Li, just drop him off at the boys' dormitory entrance. I'll call his roommate to come down."
"Mm-hmm, got it."
One of the male students helped Wen Yang up. Lin Li's face was full of excitement, her eyes squinting into crescents as she smiled.
"My car's just on the street, not far at all." She hurried over to help support Wen Yang's other arm, subtly taking a deep breath of his scent, her cheeks flushing.

A frantic shout came from the street. Lin Li turned to see a small figure darting across the road.
"Who is that?"
She asked reflexively, and a student quickly answered, "Wen Yang's roommate, I think. His name's Ning Chu? They're pretty close."
"Ning Chu? A guy..."
Ning Chu rushed over to Wen Yang, barely taking a moment to catch his breath before checking Wen Yang's condition. "Is he drunk?"
Seeing Wen Yang limp and unconscious, supported by two male students, he seemed more passed out than drunk.
He had seen Wen Yang drunk before.
"Yeah, he can't hold his liquor. Didn't take much to knock him out."
Ning Chu glanced at the girl who spoke, unable to control his gaze from wandering to her pointed ears and the large, swaying tail behind her.
A fox-girl! Just what he feared!
A sense of unease washed over Ning Chu, but he nodded, "Alright, I'll take him back then. I was just heading back myself."
"You?" Lin Li looked Ning Chu up and down, her gaze stopping at his modest height of about 1.6 meters. She pursed her lips. "Can you manage?"
"I'll go borrow a cart!"
Lin Li could sense Ning Chu's wariness and possessiveness towards Wen Yang. She squinted her pretty fox-like eyes, examining Ning Chu closely, her gaze lingering on his slightly bulging chest. She then smiled, leaning over and wrapping an arm around Ning Chu's neck.
Ning Chu felt the chill of Lin Li's smooth skin, goosebumps rising on his own.
