Chapter 1 - The Beginning of the Eternal Path

"Ezykel this is your last chance to hand over the Star Ball Time!"

"Get the Star Ball Time from him before he uses it!"

"Fool Ezykel, did you really need all those soul stones to merge with the Star Ball Time? You killed thousands upon thousands of innocent men, women, and children! Were all of those killings worth it?"

Ezykel stood on top of the Fire Wolf Mountain, the wind breezing through the mountain. The wind going through the black robes of Ezykel, covered in blood, making them lighter, his silver hair waving through the air, his face simple with no remarkable features.

He raised his arm with the Star Ball Time in his hand, a round glass ball with a white cross in it made of light and small blue and white dots surrounding it. The Star Ball Time, the size of a tennis ball.

All the people who were fighting looked at the Star Ball Time in the hand of Ezykel, their eyes filled with jealousy, wishing they had that soul item in their possession instead.

Despite being on the brink of death, Ezykel was expressionless and ascended into the air, his voice calm and gentle.

"I have finally merged the Star Ball Time with my soul. I don't know where it's going to send me back in time, but what is sure is that I am going to follow this path once again."

Everyone screamed in panic as Ezykel was about to use the Star Ball Time.

"No, wait! Don't use it!"

As Ezykel used the Star Ball Time, every noise went silent. A loud bang was heard. All the colors were absorbed by the Star Ball Time, everything turning black and white. The Star Ball Time exploded, turning into a small black hole.

Every person felt as if they were carrying mountains on their back. Then Ezykel saw all those people disappear into ash.

He closed his eyes and reopened them.

All he saw then was nothing but darkness. He was drifting in an ocean, just saw a small glimmer of light reaching him through the surface of the ocean. Ezykel smiled slightly, happy that it worked.

Ezykel said to himself,

"It really just happened. It was just a matter of time before I had to use the Star Ball Time, and I was just lucky that I merged it with my soul one week before the battle. Even if I had lost the battle without the Star Ball Time, I would have accepted my fate."

After Ezykel closed his eyes once again and reopened them, he woke up lying in his bed.

"The Star Ball Time really worked, I am back in time. But this time, I need to get more powerful than my last life of 300 years. And I have lost every Soul item and Soul creature when I used the Star Ball Time. The Star Ball Time, I think, also probably broke."

The sacrifice of using the Star Ball Time is losing all your power in return for redoing your life from the age of 14. Meaning losing all your Soul items and Soul creatures. But you do have the knowledge of the world and what's going to happen in the future. You will also carry your experience with you back in time. It is like a trump card you would use if you had nothing in your arsenal.

Ezykel stood up from his bed, looked around. He saw a mirror and walked towards the mirror, standing in front of the mirror. He had black, medium-length hair just above his shoulders. His black eyes were sharp, and a simple face. A pale, slim body.

"How bad of a body, almost no muscles. I should make my body better."

Ezykel walked to the balcony of his room. The mansion looked like a typical Chinese mansion. This world has many different cultures mixed, like the ancient Chinese, European, and American, back on Earth. Ezykel looked at the rest of the village of the Sun Mountain Village. The sun was as beautiful as ever, and the village full of lively people.

After looking at the sun, village, and streets, someone entered his room. A servant entered his room with a basket of Ezykel's clothes.

"Young master Ezykel, here are your clothes."

Eleria, the servant who entered Ezykel's room, dressed in the blue clothes like every other servant, noticed his presence being different than usual—lacking his usual happiness and excitement. Ezykel turned around and locked eyes with Eleria, no emotion nor soul behind his piercing eyes, and with no emotion on his face, only a stare. Eleria was shocked, as this was her first time seeing him with that gaze. She thought he might be angry or sad.

"This is the first time I am seeing Ezykel like this. Normally, he would be happy seeing anyone, and he normally couldn't keep eye contact with someone longer than five seconds. He is too quiet. Maybe I should talk to him."

Ezykel walked slowly towards Eleria. Eleria took a step back unconsciously. As Eleria wanted to speak, Ezykel didn't give her a chance.

"Drop the basket on my bed and you may leave."

He spoke in a gentle voice, but a voice without emotion or soul.

Eleria was shocked once again. She froze and panicked.

"This is uncomfortable, I feel like he's looking into my soul. How long is he going to keep looking into my eyes?"

Eleria tried to look anywhere but his eyes, feeling attacked when looking at him.

"Why are you standing there? Are you pretending to be a statue? I just said to drop the basket on my bed and then leave."

Eleria trembled a bit. She felt cornered, as if she were an ant about to be stomped by Ezykel. She was scared and turned her head down. She walked slowly towards the bed, her face full of fear, making sure she didn't aggravate Ezykel. Then she went back to the door, missing the handle as she felt as if this was a completely different person. But before she left, she said,

"Uhm… Ezykel, your parents asked you to come to them. They wanted to speak to you."

He nodded to Eleria, and then she left.

"Anyone would be scared if someone changed into someone like me in a single night, and hearing someone you are close to speak to you like that. But this is me—three hundred years later from the boy she knew yesterday. She, of course, would be afraid and confused, I understand that. But why would I speak to her in a friendly way, knowing that she is just pretending to be friendly? She would later try to drug me and make it look like I was trying to make a move on her—a plan of my parents, so that they would have a reason to kick me out of the mansion, and she would be given a higher job title in return for the job she had to do. But that is not going to happen. I decide what will happen to her."

Ezykel changed from his sleeping clothes to his black kimono and walked out of the room to go down to the audience chamber. That was on the first floor of the mansion, while he was on the second floor. He walked to the stairs with a relaxed aura, making the surrounding servants feel at ease, but confused, as they saw Ezykel for the first time with no emotions. They also thought something was wrong. He walked silently, without a sound, like a feather dropping onto the ground.
