Chapter 11 - The Classes

Talia & Zeshia – Swordsmanship Department

The morning sun cast a golden hue over the sprawling campus as Talia and Zeshia approached the Swordsmanship Department. The building stood tall, its stone facade adorned with intricate carvings of legendary battles and revered warriors. Massive oak doors, polished to a sheen, opened into a vast hall that buzzed with energy.

Inside, the grandeur was palpable. High vaulted ceilings allowed sunlight to stream in through stained glass windows, casting colorful patterns on the polished wooden floors. Rows of senior students practiced diligently, their synchronized movements creating a rhythmic symphony of clashing blades and determined grunts.

Talia's eyes sparkled with excitement. "This is more impressive than I imagined."

Zeshia nodded, her gaze fixed on the array of swords displayed along the walls. "The craftsmanship of these weapons is exquisite."

They approached the display, admiring the variety—from slender rapiers to hefty broadswords. Each blade told a story, etched with runes and symbols denoting their origins and purposes.

Before they could delve deeper, a commanding voice echoed through the hall. "Students, gather around!"

Mr. Rigur Leren, an imposing figure clad in a pristine uniform, stood at the center. His presence exuded authority, and whispers among the students confirmed his reputation as an imperial knight.

"Today, we begin with the fundamentals of swordsmanship. Understanding your weapon is paramount. A sword is not just a tool but an extension of your will. Respect it, and it will serve you well."

He proceeded to explain the basic stances:

Guard Position: The foundation of defense, ensuring balance and readiness.

Offensive Stance: Positioning for swift and effective strikes.

Defensive Maneuvers: Techniques to parry and counter incoming attacks.

Mr. Leren demonstrated each stance with precision, his movements fluid and purposeful. The students watched intently, absorbing every detail.

"For today, we'll focus on footwork and posture. Mastering these basics is crucial before handling a blade."

The class spent the remainder of the session practicing movements, guided by Mr. Leren's keen observations and corrections.

Vivera – Spirit Magic Lecture

Navigating the sprawling corridors of the academy, Vivera sought directions to the Spirit Magic lecture hall. A helpful senior pointed her towards a serene wing of the building, where the hustle of the main campus faded into tranquility.

The lecture hall was modest, with only a handful of students seated. Soft light filtered through stained glass windows, casting colorful patterns on the stone floor.

Vivera took a seat, glancing around and offering a shy smile to her peers. Her attempts at small talk were met with polite nods but little engagement.

Moments later, Ms. Elmise Erilin entered—a graceful woman with an aura of calm authority. Her flowing robes shimmered subtly, hinting at the ethereal energies she commanded.

"Welcome to Spirit Magic. This discipline connects us to the very essence of the world—the spirits that inhabit every living and non-living entity. Through understanding and respect, we can communicate and harmonize with these entities."

She elaborated on the different types of spirits:

Elemental Spirits: Embodiments of natural elements like fire, water, earth, and air.

Ancestral Spirits: Echoes of those who have passed, offering wisdom and guidance.

Nature Spirits: Entities residing in flora and fauna, maintaining ecological balance.

Vivera diligently took notes, her enthusiasm evident. Her fervor stood in contrast to the more relaxed demeanor of her classmates, some of whom exchanged amused glances at her intensity.

Ms. Erilin concluded the session with a gentle reminder: "Patience and empathy are key. The spirits communicate in subtle ways, and it's our duty to listen."

Zenith – Magic Theory Lecture

As Zenith approached the Magic Theory classroom, a fleeting figure caught her eye—a familiar silhouette disappearing around a corner. A sense of déjà vu washed over her, but she dismissed it, focusing on the task at hand.

The classroom was spacious, lined with bookshelves brimming with ancient tomes. Students filled the seats, murmuring in anticipation.

Ms. Seria Lifa entered, her presence commanding immediate silence. Dressed impeccably, her demeanor was both regal and authoritative—a reflection of her status as a countess and esteemed mage.

"Magic Theory is the backbone of all magical disciplines. Understanding the principles that govern magic allows for safe and effective practice."

She outlined the core concepts:

Law of Correspondence: The idea that patterns repeat across different levels of reality.

Law of Vibration: Everything in the universe moves and vibrates; understanding these vibrations is key to manipulating magical energies.

Law of Polarity: Recognizing and balancing opposing forces to achieve harmony.

Zenith listened attentively, though much of the material was familiar to her. Still, she appreciated the structured approach and the depth of knowledge Ms. Lifa brought to the lecture.

The class concluded with an assignment: "Reflect on how these laws manifest in your daily life and magical practices. Understanding their real-world applications is crucial."
