Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Precious Spiritual Food, Return to Blue Star!

Chapter 6: Precious Spiritual Food, Return to Blue Star!

As night fell, Lin Chen followed Han Jihai to the Pill Peak.

The top of Pill Peak wasn't very large—roughly a thousand feet in circumference.

Aside from a few simple buildings and a pill-refining room, most of the land was planted with spiritual herbs and plants.

Lin Chen chose one of the small houses. Upon entering, he found it simple but clean and tidy.

A wooden bed, a wooden table, and a few chairs.

After briefly tidying up, there was a knock at the door.

It was Han Jihai, bringing Lin Chen a meal of spiritual food.

"Xiao Chen, treat Pill Peak as your home from now on."

"Here are some spiritual grains and vegetables. Eat up and get some rest... Get into the right state, and try sensing spiritual energy tomorrow."

Han Jihai was very kind, almost like a kindly grandfather next door.

Lin Chen took the food and nodded.

"Thank you, Master!"

After Han Jihai left, Lin Chen looked at the food on the plate.

Each grain of spiritual rice was plump and brimming with spiritual energy.

The green, tender vegetables were incredibly appetizing.

Han Jihai had even boiled an egg to help Lin Chen replenish his nutrition.

"So this is spiritual food… How is it different from regular food?"

Lin Chen couldn't wait to take a bite. His face instantly lit up with enjoyment.

Delicious—unbelievably delicious!

Even the finest dishes from top chefs back on Blue Star couldn't compare!

Lin Chen devoured the entire plate in no time.

Then he peeled the egg and ate it in two bites.

"Hiss… This egg doesn't seem ordinary either. A spiritual egg?"

His eyes lit up.

After eating, he felt more energized than ever before—and sensed subtle changes in his body.

"This spiritual food… seems to nourish the body and strengthen the physique!"

Excited, Lin Chen immediately began practicing the martial breathing technique.

Two hours passed quickly.

Lin Chen felt his blood and energy grow stronger. He eagerly looked at his watch.

Vitality Value: 10.5!

"It actually increased by 0.3!"

He was overjoyed. Just one meal and two hours of breathing practice had equaled a whole month of hard training for an ordinary martial artist.

"Spiritual food from the cultivation world… The physical enhancement it provides to martial artists is incredible!"

Delighted, Lin Chen also began to reflect.

Cultivators mainly cultivated mana, but that didn't mean their bodies were weak. This was evident from the rogue cultivators he'd seen before.

Even if they weren't as physically focused as Blue Star's martial artists, cultivators in the immortal world were still strong in body.

That's why spiritual food wasn't just beneficial for cultivation—it also strengthened the body.

As far as Lin Chen knew, Blue Star had other methods besides breathing techniques to boost a martial artist's vitality.

For instance, "potential injections" could permanently enhance vitality—but at the cost of one's potential.

Some martial disciples would secretly use these injections during the national martial arts exams, but if caught, they'd be disqualified and banned for life.

The most common method on Blue Star, however, was—eating meat.

Beast meat.

Powerful beasts could slaughter an entire city, feeding on humans, with bodies as strong as monsters.

But humans could in turn extract energy from beast meat to strengthen themselves.

However, beast meat was extremely rare, and its energy was wild and violent. Only strong martial artists could consume it.

For someone like Lin Chen, who had just begun training, eating it would be fatal.

A single mistake could cause the body to explode and die!

After comparing everything, Lin Chen marveled:

"Just this one meal of spiritual food would be worth tens of thousands of Daxia coins on Blue Star!"

"If we could promote the cultivation of spiritual rice in the Daxia Nation, martial artists would progress much faster in their early training!"

His eyes lit up. Just this spiritual rice had the potential to revolutionize Daxia's martial world!

Licking his lips, still craving more, he glanced at the countdown on his wrist.

6:32

Only a little over six hours remained until Lin Chen would return to Blue Star.

"For me, seven days have passed in the cultivation world… but not even a second has passed on Blue Star."

"Once I return to the Martial Research Institute, the changes in my body will prove the cultivation world is real!"

"And with that, I'll have accomplished my first goal."

Lin Chen paused in thought.

He had chosen to reveal his ability to travel between worlds after careful consideration.

First, he'd faced those rogue cultivators earlier—almost certain death.

Without the nation's support and weapons, he might've died the moment he returned.

Second, the cultivation world was far too dangerous. Surviving there alone was nearly impossible.

Even if there were traitors among humans who might pose a threat, he believed Daxia would protect him quickly. Compared to that small risk, the benefits were far more significant.

Of course, his upbringing also played a part—he had always been taught to serve the Daxia Nation and all of humanity.

And finally, the most important reason...

Lin Chen was absolutely certain—this ability to travel between worlds belonged to him alone!

That meant he would be the only link between the high-martial world and the cultivation world...

In such a scenario, if the Daxia Nation wanted access to the powers of the cultivation world, it had to fully support Lin Chen—there were no other options.

"Sigh, I actually wish there were others who could travel with me. That way, I wouldn't have to fight alone... But unfortunately, that's just not possible."

Lin Chen shook his head slightly.

"But... if I want the high-martial world to support me wholeheartedly, I have to make them recognize the value of the cultivation world!"

"For example, spiritual energy that's highly beneficial to martial artists—and spiritual food..."

Convincing Daxia that the cultivation world truly existed was only the first step.

If Lin Chen wanted more resources and support, he had to demonstrate the value of the cultivation world.

After all, no nation—or the entire human race—would revolve around a single individual.

Unless that individual could show value enough to change the fate of all humanity.

"In another six hours, everything will be clear."

"I wonder... when I return to the cultivation world next time, how much support will I receive?"

Lin Chen felt a surge of anticipation.

Then, he resumed his martial breathing technique for another six hours.

For martial artists, the maximum effective duration for practicing breathing techniques each day was eight hours. Beyond that, the returns would become negligible.

Sure enough, after checking his vitality value, it had increased by another 0.2—a remarkable improvement.

After finishing his training, Lin Chen began reorganizing his belongings.

He packed the nano shield, the new kinetic handgun, and the remaining three stamina potions.

Once everything was ready, he looked again at the countdown on his wrist.

13 minutes and 18 seconds.

With just over ten minutes remaining, he didn't waste time—he began preparing a new experiment.

Lin Chen dragged the room's table and chairs over to the wooden bed.

Then, sitting on the bed, he held a chair in one hand and grabbed the table with the other.

Based on his earlier theory, living beings couldn't travel through the portal with him—but items he was touching could.

He wanted to test just how large an object he could take with him during the crossing.

Once everything was in place, Lin Chen stared at the countdown on his wrist.

"Three... two..."

"One!"

Lin Chen's vision shifted once again...
