[ To all the Readers who are reading this right now - A big thank you ]

[ A devil doesn't always have horns, he might just come with a smile ]

Year: 2025

Location: LLC. Corporation

Tack…tack…

The sound of the keyboard being used at speed echoed in the room, and silence filled the air. The employees were all drowned in their computer screens, and their fingers were working at a tremendous pace.

Everyone was minding their business until a scream of anger ran through the corridor.

"What the hell is wrong with you !!"

"Looks like it started again", one employee texted in the office group chat.

"I wonder who that unlucky bastard is today?" another employee texted.

"Well, what to say the devil is at it again"

"Lol ^_^"

The voice came from the room, which was gold-plated with bold text.

The nameplate stated -

  Jack Miles

 Managing Director

"How can you do this to me ??" Saying this, the employee angrily smashed the letter of termination on the desk.

"I dedicated all these years of my life to the company, and this is what I got?"

The employee was talking to Jack, who was unfazed by the situation and looked up at a file without getting bothered. He wasn't even looking at that employee.

"Why should I care? Did I tell you to do so? To dedicate your precious years to the company. Let me be very clear: I am just getting the trash out."

Saying so, Jack passes some papers through the paper shredder, which was placed near his desk.

"Screw you. You think I'm gonna stay quiet just cause you terminated me. I will make sure to pay you back for what you did today."

As the employee spoke those words, Jack finally looked in his direction. As their eyes met, there was a coldness in Jack's eyes. There were no emotions in them whatsoever, which ran a chill down the employee's spine.

He hesitated a bit, realising he might have crossed a line. Getting up from his chair, Jack adjusted his navy-coloured suit and walked towards the employee. He handed him some paper, and leaning towards the employee, he slowly whispered in his ear.

"When a dog forgets his place and disobeys his master, you should get rid of him."

Seeing the papers, the employee turned pale and started sweating. He dropped to his knees, knowing he was in for trouble.

"Jack, you know me very well. We have been colleagues for 15 years. My family doesn't deserve this. You know my situation well. I am the only one they got. Please.."

Seeing the person desperate and begging for mercy, there was an emotion in Jack that he was enjoying, looking down on others, he didn't care about them.

"Get lost, "that's all he said.

As the employee left the room, Jack's secretary entered the room.

"Was it really necessary, sir? I mean to say for what he did, wasn't firing him enough that now the company filed a 12 million lawsuit and fraud charges against him. In this manner, his life will be over by tomorrow sunrise."

"When the poison has spread far within the hand, you have no choice but to amputate it, Stella." Jack said while sipping his coffee.

"I am sorry, sir, but still, you two have known each other since your trainee days…"

Interrupting his secretary, Jack looked straight into her eyes.

"I haven't got this position as a reward, I have earned it. Nobody has given me anything. Yes I do know him but that doesn't means he is my family. All I care about is my success, and for that, the company must stay on top. And I don't care who thinks what about me. Am I clear ??"

"Yes Sir. I am sorry for the disturbance"

Saying so, Jack continued his work, and the day went by as usual.

"What the hell.. sigh" Jack looked at his flat tire with a sigh.

"I don't know, sir, how it happened. I will arrange for alternate means of transport; just give me some minutes."

"Forget it, Stella. Just call a mechanic. The train station is nearby. I will commute by train for today; that's fine."

"Ok, sir."

Jack started heading towards the train station. As it was located within walking distance, it didn't take him long to reach there. He was listening to the news through AirPods while waiting for the train.

"Today's latest news, a man in his early 40s had committed sui*id* while jumping from the terrace of his apartment building, leaving his family of three behind. It had come to the notice of the police that he had been fired this morning and had an argument with his MD. He was an employee at LLC. Corporation."

"Ah..looks like I gotta do some paperwork tonight", Jack thought.

"Please stand behind the yellow line. The train is now approaching." - The officer announced.

Being unbothered by the news, Jack was enjoying some music as the train approached the platform, and suddenly someone pushed Jack from behind, right in front of the train.

In that minuscule second, while he was falling on the track, everything was clear as crystal for Jack as he saw the train approaching; he knew that death was now unavoidable.

"Ah shit, is this how it all ends, I could have gain more power and money. But I guess this is how it ends for me."

Thack ….

The train hit Jack and there was blood everywhere, while the ones who saw the event unfold in front of their eyes were stunned and screaming, some rushed to call for help.

But somewhere unknown, a powerful being smiled, looking at that situation…
