"Sigh, should I cut my neck or jump into the ocean?"
Avery stood on the mountain top, looking at the vast ocean without any emotion.
It was already the 24th year of the apocalypse. She had powers of space, ice, mind, and invisibility, and all of them had reached the highest level.
In all the places she had been, there was nothing that could defeat her. But so what?
All the zombies were wiped out ten years ago. She had searched this world for ten years and hadn't seen another living person.
When the apocalypse started, she was only fourteen, and her parents and older brother protected her.
But by the time she became powerful, all her family members had died.
Now, she really didn't want to live anymore. Being alone was too lonely. There wasn't even anyone to talk to.
While she was still unsure what to do, a mutated plant came near her legs, trying to crawl into her boots.
"Enough. Stop crawling in. If I don't want you to eat me, you won't be able to."
Avery grabbed the mutated plant and even patted it a few times.
The plant kept struggling to get free, but no matter how much it struggled, it couldn't escape her grip.
"Sigh, since you came to send me off, I won't kill you today. Go away."
Avery waved her hand and threw the mutated plant far away. Then she looked around the area.
"No, I can't just die like this. I need to prepare my body properly."
She thought about how, after she died, her body would be eaten by these mutated animals.
So she started digging a pit. Not many people get the chance to dig their own grave. That thought made her laugh.
"Alright, Heaven, don't let me be the last human alive in the next life. It's too hard on the mind."
After saying that, Avery lay down and used her ice power to completely freeze herself.
Then she thought again and decided to take more things with her.
If she ended up in another place with no people, at least these mutated plants could help pass the time.
She used her full ice power without holding back and froze half the mountain.
Just as she started to feel the suffocation, a lightning bolt from the sky struck her.
"Damn it, Heaven, I was already trying to kill myself. Why are you striking me now?"
Avery cursed before losing consciousness. When she slowly opened her eyes again, she was in a bar.
Avery sat up with a start and saw many people around her.
Before she could get excited, a woman beside her spoke.
"Sis, are you okay?"
Rose was startled by her. She had suddenly jolted, which wasn't part of the planned scene.
"Sister! You're my sister? That's great!"
Avery didn't wait for her to speak. She rushed over and hugged her.
This was good. Finally, she wouldn't be alone anymore. It didn't matter if she was her sister or not. As long as someone was there, that was enough.
"Sis!"
Rose was confused by her action. She didn't know what Avery was doing.
Why would this idiot hug her and say she's glad to have a sister?
Avery was about to speak again, but she suddenly felt weak and hot all over.
Her head began to ache as a flood of unfamiliar memories entered her mind.
Not knowing what was happening, she grabbed her head tightly.
About two minutes later, she completely passed out.
"Sis, sis, what's wrong with you?"
Avery saw that she had fainted again and thought she was pretending, because she didn't give her that kind of drug.
She pinched her hard a couple of times, but still got no response.
"Hurry over here, this idiot is completely unconscious now. Perfect time to take action."
Rose had called the wrong number, but her real purpose for tricking her into coming here today was to get her to sleep with a man.
Once she had footage of that, her parents would definitely kick her out of the Lu family. Then the only daughter of the Lu family would be her.
Two men wearing masks and sunglasses quickly arrived and carried Avery out.
"Make sure you get the video I want. Otherwise, I'm not paying the rest."
At the bar exit, Rose still felt uneasy and reminded them again.
Tomorrow was that idiot's 18th birthday, so she had to be ruined before then.
"Don't worry."
The two men agreed quickly and brought her to a hotel room, where they started setting up a camera.
At that moment, Avery opened her eyes again, looked around, and asked:
"Why isn't this the same place as before? Did you bring me here?"
"Don't worry, pretty girl. No matter where we are, we'll make sure you feel good."
One of the men took off his mask and sunglasses, then impatiently jumped onto the bed.
"Oh, thank you then."
Avery smiled as he came closer, pulled her legs back, and kicked hard.
"Ahhh…"
"You're too loud. It's annoying."
Avery quickly covered her ears.
"You b*tch! You wanna die?"
The man fell to the ground in pain, both hands clutching his crotch while still yelling curses.
The other man rushed over. Seeing his partner like that, he got more cautious.
"Come on, it's fine. I only kicked him because he's not my type — not handsome at all.
But you're different. So tall and strong, super handsome. Any woman would want you.
So come on, I've been drugged. I really can't wait."
Avery stretched out her arms like she wanted to hug him.
"Really?"
The man walked toward her carefully. That kind of talk could only fool a toddler.
But he couldn't back out either. Their task tonight was to sleep with this woman.
Besides, as long as he stayed alert, there was nothing she could do. She was just one woman.
"Really."
Avery smiled at him again. As he approached cautiously, she moved her fingers, and an ice needle appeared in her hand.
Her ice ability had come with her, which made things even more fun.
The man got close and reached for her hands.
"You're taking too long. I told you, I really, really need you right now."
Avery stood up and threw herself into his arms, her hands wandering across his body.
"Hmm, no abs…"
The man knew she'd been drugged, so seeing her act like this finally made him relax. The drug was working.
He hugged her and leaned down to kiss her.
