Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: If You Can’t Be Mine, You’ll Belong to No One

The night was a suffocating curtain of darkness, and the rain poured like the sky itself was breaking apart.

Ella Lin stood by the towering glass windows of her penthouse, fingers lightly resting on her lower abdomen. The soft glow of the city lights below couldn't warm the chill in her heart.

He was missing.

Leon Xu, the man who once stood above everyone, had vanished from the public eye after his humiliating rejection.

Her assistant's words still echoed in her mind.

"Miss Lin, Leon Xu is gone… and we can't track his whereabouts."

Ella shook her head. It didn't matter anymore. Their story was over.

Or so she thought.

That very night, as the clock struck midnight, the lights in her penthouse flickered.

And before she could react, the power went out completely.

The door to her bedroom creaked open.

She turned sharply, heart pounding.

A tall, shadowed figure stood at the door—drenched in rain, his presence overwhelming the very air in the room.

And then, a chillingly familiar voice cut through the darkness.

"You're trying to leave me again, Ella?"

Her heart stopped.

"Leon..."

In a flash, he crossed the room, grabbing her wrist with an iron grip.

His eyes were wild, bloodshot, the lines between sanity and madness completely erased.

"Do you think you can just walk away after what you did to me?" His voice was low, trembling with barely restrained rage. "You stood on that stage and crushed me in front of the entire world. Do you have any idea what you've done to me, Ella?"

"Let me go, Leon! You're insane!" She struggled, but he pulled her closer, his breath hot against her ear.

"Yes, I'm insane!" he growled. "You made me this way!"

Without warning, he lifted her into his arms, ignoring her frantic kicking and screaming.

"Where are you taking me?!"

"Home," he whispered darkly. "To the only place you'll ever belong—from now on, you stay where I can see you, where no one can touch you!"

The next thing Ella knew, she was thrown into the back of a black SUV. Her wrists were tied, her phone ripped from her purse and smashed into pieces.

"Leon, you're crazy! Let me go!"

Leon sat beside her, his face terrifyingly calm, but his eyes burned with an obsessive light.

"You said it yourself, Ella. I'm the devil you can't escape from."

"I'm pregnant, Leon! Is this how you treat the mother of your child?!" she screamed.

For a moment, something flickered in his eyes—pain, regret… but it was gone in an instant.

"You think that makes you special?" His lips curled into a dangerous smirk. "No one will ever take you away from me, Ella. Not even our child."

Her tears streamed freely now.

"You'll regret this, Leon. I swear, you'll regret everything!"

But Leon simply leaned closer, his lips brushing against her ear, his voice low and terrifying.

"I've regretted everything, Ella. Except loving you. And if the only way to keep you is to lock you away… so be it."

The car drove off into the storm, carrying them far from the city, far from anyone who could save her.
