Chapter 1 - Chapter 2: The Game Begins

‎Watching him leave so triumphantly birthed a sinister idea. "I'll make you come begging," she said with resentment and determination. Having an evil grin on her face, she picked up her phone and made a brief call.

‎The next day, he went to the company with a happy face, all because he had defeated Anne yesterday. "That should teach her a lesson not to get mouthy with me," he mused. On arrival at the company, he was greeted by cold stares and gossip. "What is going on here?" he demanded, but no one paid heed to him. They all went on with their business, totally ignoring his presence.

‎He was completely enraged and headed for his office, but was stopped. "Sorry, sir, you can't go in," said a fierce-looking man. "And why is that?" he asked. "We got orders from the top to not allow you into this office." "And who gave such stupid orders?" he asked coldly. "Don't you all know that I'm the CEO of this company? So, who dares put me out of my own office?"

‎"Miss Anne did. She requested your immediate removal from the company. So, my apologies, sir, but you're no longer CEO and hence not recognized by this company. You may please step out of the company." Hayes was sent out of the company, looking embarrassed and angry. He stomped into his car and drove to Anne's house, seeking to put her straight.

‎At Anne's house, she was patiently expecting him to arrive. He drew the door open and slammed it shut to show his anger. "How dare you, Anne? Who gave you the right to lock me out of my company?" he asked, waiting for an answer.

‎"Oh, I don't need anyone's permission. As I said yesterday, I own the damn company, and I decide who stays or who leaves. And at this point, you are leaving," she replied in a relaxed voice.

‎"No, you can't do that without me. The company is nothing. I alone can manage that company. It's mine, and not yours. Anything that floats your boat, darling, but don't think because I allowed you to do some dirty business with my company, you can make it yours." "What do you mean by that?" he asked, stuttering.

‎"Hayes, Hayes, Hayes, you really aren't so intelligent. I know of all your money laundering, your deals with other mafia bosses, and your fund embezzlement, and you trying to buy my board of directors. That's foolish of you."

‎His eyes widened in shock as he realized that she knew about all his dirty deeds. He tried to hide his fear, but it was clear that he was afraid of what she might do next. He tried to keep his composure, but he couldn't hide the panic in his voice. "How did you find out about that? Who told you?" he asked warily, afraid of raising too much suspicion.

‎"Aw, don't be afraid, darling. I won't rat you out just yet. It's better watching you in anguish and fear."

‎He was even more terrified now, and he started to back away from her. He couldn't believe that she would threaten him like this. He thought he had her under his control, but now he realized that she was a much more powerful and dangerous person than he thought. He tried to keep his voice calm, but it was clear that he was scared. "Please, don't do anything to me. I'll do anything you want."

‎"Oh, no, my dear. Don't be in such a hurry to lick my shoes yet. I have a more exciting game for you. So, sit back and enjoy it. Now, get out before I do something silly. Leave," she said in a cold tone. He got up dejectedly and left the house.

‎As he walked away, he muttered under his breath, "This isn't over yet. I'll be back for you, and next time, I won't be so merciful."
