She turned to see Aria and her friend, Sasha.
Hi..Hi… she stutters
"Hi. How is Mother doing?" Luna finally asked, feeling sad, wondering how they even got here in the first place.
Aria smiled. "What do you think?" she asked sarcastically. "When her daughter is the CEO, has a whole lot of inheritance and multiple streams of contracts... of course, she's basking in the laps of luxury."
"Look, I'm not here to have this conversation like I want to reunite with you," Luna said, looking irritated.
"What did I do to you?"
"I watched you leave my life, and now you're here asking me what you did to me?" she mimicked.
"Okay, it's fine. I've got somewhere to go. Aria, I hope you're ready for me," she muttered.
"Sure you do,Zayn's house," Aria laughed wickedly. "He's using you, obviously. But you're always too naive to see things clearly."
"That's enough," Sasha finally spoke up.
"Wait, Sasha, I want to tell her something," Aria said, looking directly into Luna's eyes. "I don't care what you're doing with Zayn, but you're not a threat. Everyone knows you're not a Rivera."
She started laughing again, then pushed Luna out of her way as she walked past.
But Luna didn't fall. She just kept watching her leave.
When she got out, it was already windy. The wind was uncurling her waves.
As she stepped down the stairs, Wilfar approached her, helping her with the shopping bag.
"You don't look okay?"
"I'm good," she said, faking a smile revealing her red eyes as she looked at him, then turned and walked toward the car.
She entered the car, waiting for Wilfar to join her. As he got in, she said quietly, "Take me to Zayn's main house, please."
"I would have done that, but you know Zayn. he's not someone you go against," he said lowly. "He texted me to take you to the spa, to detoxify."
"I'm not going anywhere," she said firmly, her eyes very red.
"Okay, fine. I'll call him now, if you don't mind."
"Do it." She held herself from screaming at him.
He picked the call on the second ring.
"She said she's not going to the spa."
"Reason?" Zayn's voice came through the speaker.
"I don't know exactly, but she's been quite emotional… and tends to be aggressive."
"You're talking about me like I'm not here!" she said, crying now.
Wilfar put the phone on loudspeaker.
"Why do you like controlling me?" she asked.
"You know that's not the real reason you're crying right now."
"I don't care, but you make situations hard for me!"
"Okay, I get it. You're stressed. So the staff from the spa will meet you in three hours at my penthouse."
"Hmm… When will I make my own decisions?" she muttered as the call ended.
She sighed and thought of calling Kai. At least, no matter what she did, he would still love her, respect her, and never judge her.
Wilfar sped up and drove back into the city, passing through quiet streets instead of major roads. She rested her back on the seat, wishing someone could just take her away from all this pain.
She opened her eyes when she felt the car stop. Wilfar was still in the driver's seat, waiting for what, she had no idea.
"You slept for quite a while," he said.
"Really?"
"But don't worry. Thank goodness you're in safe hands."
"Sure," she said sluggishly. "Why are we waiting?"
"The camera guards are accessing us."
Then the gates finally opened.
The house wasn't bigjust okay. It looked peaceful. The environment was calm, and the evening breeze blew gently, helping her settle down shortly.
She waited quietly for Wilfar to come and show her in.
When he did, she got down, pulled off her shoes, and walked barefoot behind him.
As they approached the house, Daisy came out through the main door, smiling, with a baby girl in her arms.
"Daisy?" Luna looked at Wilfar strangely. "How did you get here?"
"The gentleman standing beside you is my husband," Daisy said, nodding toward Wilfar. "He texted me that the Boss wanted me to assist you with…"
"The spa?" Luna cut in.
"No, not exactly. They're not here for now."
Luna's eyes drifted to the baby in Daisy's arms. "What's her name? How old is she? Can I hold her?" she asked quickly but in a gentle tone.
"She's Anja, eight months old. She's our child. And of course, you can hold her."
Daisy smiled as she handed Anja to Luna.
Anja looked like she was about to cry, while Wilfar went back to the car to get Luna's things.
Luna didn't care about her surroundings; all she could think about was how to make the crying baby in her hands giggle.
As they entered, Luna asked, "Where would I be sleeping tonight?"
"Let me take you there," Daisy said, climbing the stairs. Luna followed, noticing she hadn't seen any living room yet.
"Does this penthouse have a living room?"
"No. It only has a room that looks like one, but it's off-limits. Important meetings and private matters are held there."
"Where is it?"
"Top floor," Daisy replied.
Anja calmed down when Luna gently swung her a little.
"She's a rough player. You don't want to see that side of her," Wilfar said.
"I like that. I love children, you know," Luna said, smiling brightly at Anja.
When they got to the room, Daisy took the bags from her husband and urged him to go. He quickly pecked her on the head and left them.
There was an awkward pause.
When Daisy opened the door and let Luna in, Luna walked over to the bed and sat down, feeling a strange sense of familiarity. Everything about the room reminded her of Zayn's penthouse in the city.
"Why is this room a replica of the other one?" she asked.
"Sir said…" Daisy hesitated, referring to Zayn. "He doesn't want you complaining about the location change, so he wanted to make it as comfortable as possible."
She quickly covered her mouth, realizing she'd said too much Zayn had told her not to share the details with Luna.
"What happened?" Luna asked, concerned
"He said I shouldn't tell you. I'm sorry," Daisy said, lying Anja gently on the bed.
It does not matter if I don't tell him,how will he know you told me? she asked focusing her eyes on Anja
She smiled gratefully.
"Can I leave Anja with you? I want to get back to work, please."
"Sure, I was about to ask."
"Thank you," she said, then turned and left.
