Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: Zhao Wuji Fights So Well!

"Let's begin. If the three of you can hold out under my attack for the duration of an incense stick, you will have passed the test."

Although Zhao Wuji had already decided in his heart that Tang San, Xiao Wu, and Ning Rongrong were students of Shrek Academy, the formal process still had to be followed. Besides, it was a good opportunity to learn about their spirit skills and combat experience.

Xu Yunhan, Zhu Zhuqing, Oscar, Ma Hongjun, and Dai Mubai watched the fight from a distance.

Tang San, Xiao Wu, and Ning Rongrong had already discussed some countermeasures.

"Seven Treasures is famous for two things: strength and speed," Ning Rongrong said as the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Pagoda before her radiated light. At the same time, two yellow century-old spirit rings appeared on her body.

She consecutively unleashed two spirit skills, amplifying Xiao Wu's strength and speed.

The Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Pagoda is a weapon-type spirit, which must be manifested externally to use spirit skills. It is also a support-type spirit.

With enhanced strength and speed, Xiao Wu immediately burst forward and charged at Zhao Wuji.

Tang San stood in front of Ning Rongrong, his right hand pressed on the ground, while the Blue Silver Grass in his hand deeply rooted into the soil.

A yellow century-old spirit ring flickered and vanished as he activated a spirit skill.

"First spirit skill, Entangle!"

Suddenly, numerous Blue Silver Grass vines shot out and wrapped around Zhao Wuji.

"Blue Silver Grass spirit?" Zhao Wuji was astonished. "Impossible! Blue Silver Grass is a worthless spirit; how could it reach innate full spirit power?"

Dai Mubai, Ma Hongjun, Oscar, Ning Rongrong, and Zhu Zhuqing were equally surprised.

None of them had known that Tang San's spirit was Blue Silver Grass before.

"Blue Silver Grass spirit?" Oscar questioned.

Ma Hongjun hesitated, "Seems like it?"

Dai Mubai frowned, "Strange! It must be Blue Silver Grass spirit."

Oscar shook his head, "No way, that worthless Blue Silver Grass spirit can reach innate full spirit power?"

He looked towards Xu Yunhan and asked, "Boss, what do you think?"

Xu Yunhan, of course, knew Tang San's original spirit was Blue Silver Grass, which needed bloodline awakening to evolve into Blue Silver Emperor spirit.

After all, there were records and legends about Tang San from ten thousand years later that mentioned these facts.

"It is indeed Blue Silver Grass," Xu Yunhan said. "To reach innate full spirit power, it can't be just Blue Silver Grass. There's a secret hidden in him."

Zhu Zhuqing asked curiously, "What secret?"

Ma Hongjun wondered, "What secret could a Blue Silver Grass spirit have?"

Xu Yunhan glanced at everyone and said, "Perhaps Blue Silver Grass can evolve into a higher quality spirit. He just hasn't fully awakened yet. Or maybe, there is another spirit altogether."

Everyone was stunned.

Oscar said, "Boss, are you saying Tang San might have more than one spirit? That's impossible. Aren't spirit masters limited to just one spirit?"

Ma Hongjun agreed, "Yeah, how could someone have two spirits at the same time?"

Dai Mubai had heard about twin spirits but had never seen a fully developed one, so there were no clear records.

Because he was at odds with Xu Yunhan and the others, Dai Mubai remained silent.

Zhu Zhuqing also knew a little about twin spirits: "I've heard of twin spirits existing, but for unknown reasons, there's no clear documentation."

They were obviously more intrigued by the possibility of twin spirits.

"Could there really be twin spirits?"

"Is Tang San a twin spirit wielder?"

Oscar and Ma Hongjun found it unbelievable.

"Twin spirits? More likely than not," Xu Yunhan said without elaborating.

To him, twin spirits were nothing unusual—there were even triple spirits.

A person having two spirits!

The crowd turned serious, looking again at Tang San, who had now become the center of attention.

The battle continued.

Tang San was in charge of control, while Xiao Wu focused on attacking.

"The power and strength far exceed that of a normal Blue Silver Grass!"

Zhao Wuji grew increasingly puzzled but couldn't figure it out.

He suppressed his realm to Great Soul Master, the same as Tang San and Xiao Wu.

But Zhao Wuji had the Great Strength Vajra Bear spirit, strong in both offense and defense.

Therefore, neither Tang San nor Xiao Wu could deal him any real damage.

Standing still, they couldn't even hurt him.

"His defense is incredibly strong."

Tang San sighed helplessly; he couldn't find a way to break through Zhao Wuji's defense, so all they could do was stall for time.

But after experiencing this, Zhao Wuji was no longer willing to just stand still.

"Ha!"

With a loud shout, Zhao Wuji shattered all the Blue Silver Grass around him, sending Xiao Wu flying.

Xiao Wu flipped through the air and landed gracefully, using her own flexibility to avoid crashing into the ground.

She came over to Tang San, "Xiao San, he's like a turtle shell, and his strength is too great. We simply can't hurt him. What should we do?"

Tang San gave a bitter smile, "No choice, we just have to stall for time. Hopefully, Teacher Zhao won't make things too difficult for us."

Ning Rongrong nodded in agreement, "The Great Strength Vajra Bear spirit is powerful in both attack and defense. With only one person attacking, it's impossible to deal damage. We can only buy time."

Xiao Wu nodded.

The three of them changed their strategy.

"Standing still won't help. Stalling for time like this won't work."

Zhao Wuji began loosening up his muscles, preparing to both exercise his body and put these so-called geniuses in their place.

"Here's a lesson for you: in battle, your first priority should be protecting the support-type Soul Master."

Zhao Wuji charged forward, targeting Ning Rongrong.

"Ning Rongrong, watch out!"

"Tangle!"

Tang San reacted swiftly, but as soon as his Blue Silver Grass wrapped around Zhao Wuji, it was instantly shattered.

"Waist Bow!"

Xiao Wu darted forward, leaping behind Zhao Wuji and using her Waist Bow soul skill to strike.

But Zhao Wuji's massive back trembled with force, sending Xiao Wu flying.

She didn't have time to control her landing using her flexibility and crashed into the ground hard, sustaining serious injuries.

"Xiao Wu!"

Tang San was visibly upset and worried for her.

"Second soul skill—Parasite!"

After this skill was activated, numerous Blue Silver Grass vines erupted from Zhao Wuji's body and stabbed into the ground, momentarily rooting him in place.

"Useless!"

With a burst of soul power, Zhao Wuji shattered all the vines around him.

He charged forward again and slammed into the ground near Tang San and Ning Rongrong, sending both flying with the shockwave.

Tang San stabilized himself using his Xuan Tian Skill and avoided crashing into the ground.

Ning Rongrong wasn't as lucky—she hit the ground hard and couldn't get up due to the pain.

"Teacher Zhao, aren't you going a bit too far?"

Oscar felt sorry for Ning Rongrong.

Ma Hongjun muttered, "Whenever Teacher Zhao gets excited, he tends to lose control. If he ends up defeating all of them, that'll be embarrassing."

Dai Mubai called out loudly, "Teacher Zhao, mind your strength!"

He said it intentionally to help Tang San's group feel a bit more favorable toward him.

"I know, kid. No need to remind me," Zhao Wuji replied, curling his lip. But deep down, he felt a little guilty.

"San, are you okay?"

Xiao Wu rushed over to Tang San.

Tang San shook his head. "I'm fine. What about you?"

"I'm okay," Xiao Wu said, then glanced at Ning Rongrong. "I'll go check on her—she looks pretty badly hurt."

She helped Ning Rongrong up and moved her to sit on the side.

"Ning Rongrong, stay here for now. Leave the rest to me and San," Xiao Wu said with defiance. She wasn't one to admit defeat easily.

Ning Rongrong looked disheveled. "Be careful, both of you."

Inside, she was angry. She hadn't even suffered this much when training at the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School. But now she was hurting all over.

Zhao Wuji, feeling a bit guilty, didn't push them further and gave them time to rest and regroup.

Xu Yunhan silently gave Zhao Wuji a thumbs-up in his heart—he would've loved to beat up Tang San himself.
