Sue
The next morning, I was supposed to go for my bridal outfit testing. But my sister was going in my place. She was cruel enough to want to get married in the dress I selected with her help. That made me realize that my sister kept insisting that the particular dress fitted me the best because it was the one she actually planned on using for the wedding which was hers this whole time.
How utterly cruel.
My face was void of every emotions when I stepped into my parents office. If they thought I'd be mopping around in sadness, I was here to prove everyone wrong. I might be a complete mess on the inside, but I was also very good at putting up facades, and that was what I was doing right now.
My father slapped a roll in front of me as soon as he sighted me.
"That's the whereabouts of the monster alpha. It's your duty to go capture him." He said and my mouth fell open as I instantly looked through the roll.
The monster alpha.
A famous alpha who had tormented our pack's fighters for years. We've been trying to capture him for years and have always failed, because he was that strong, since he wasn't like normal alphas. He was stronger, which was why he was nicknamed monster alpha.
I was skeptical about this. People usually don't return after being sent to capture that monster alpha, so this feels like a death sentence.
"Why are you sending me on this mission? You can send someone else, and I have new set of recruits to train." I said flatly, throwing the roll over the table. My father frowned at me and I shivered a little from fear.
"I'm sending you because I can, as your king. Drop your other Jobs, someone else would take over them. For this particular mission, you're not to return till you capture the monster alpha. Is that clear?" His voice was so harsh and I shivered again.
As I stared at him, I briefly wondered why he hated me to the extent of being unable to sometimes hide it. It wasn't my fault that I was wolfless and a freak, was it?
I finally cleared my throat.
"So basically, even if it takes months or years, I can't return?" I asked and he nodded.
"Correct."
"And if I get killed by the monster alpha?" I asked as I got to my feet.
"We'll throw you a befitting funeral."

My parents or sister didn't come to see me off on the way to my new mission, which I expected, but it still hurt, especially since till last night, I actually thought my sister was my best friend.
I was currently leaving with the fighters under my command, about a couple of dozen in total. They were all afraid, rightfully so. But I did my best in convincing them that we'd end up succeeding, even though I didn't believe that.
As we exited the pack together, I knew that if I succeeded, I'd regain some respect in the eyes of the pack members. Currently, I was nothing but trash in their eyes because the news of Chris rejecting me last night has already spread like wildfire. Once again, I'll have to work at earning respect for myself, unlike my sister who never had to work for anything.
Such an unfair life for the one born as a freak.

Everything was suspiciously easy.
Down to the capturing of the monster alpha.
When I pulled his hands behind him and began to tie them together, he didn't put up a fight. I knew this wasn't a trap because my team and I checked out this location for a full day and a half before striking. There was no one else in this large clearing, except for the monster alpha who had been asleep before we striked. All I had to recognize him was from a few drawings of people's descriptions.
Although, he looked completely different from all the drawings.
He didn't look like a monster for one, but he was very… big. I was quite tall for a girl, but it was nothing compared to his build.
After successfully tying his hands tight, I maneuvered him around and as soon as our eyes locked, the breath instantly got knocked right out from my lungs. I abruptly let go of him and stumbled backwards from shock, eyes blown wide and mouth agape.
A single word appeared within my mind, continuously echoing really loudly.
'Mate.'
Mate?
How is this possible?
I remained frozen, eyes still locked with the monster alpha whose hair was being blown around his face. The side of his lips curved to reveal sharp fangs the more he regarded me and I felt terror slither down my spine at once.
"Well hello there, gorgeous." He drawled in a lazy lilt, and I almost stumbled again.
Oh. My. Goodness.
This monster alpha, an enemy of my father's pack and a criminal that I was sent out to capture, is my fated mate?!
I felt extremely proud as I stepped into the pack with the captured alpha who still didn't put up a fight throughout the journey back here. This was a feat that warriors who had way more experience than me hadn't been able to achieve.
I had hoped that when we'd return today, the pack members would all file out and start celebrating me for being successful on this journey. However the pack street was empty and I soon realized why.
Today was supposed to be my wedding, but my sister was being wedded in my place.
I had refused to think about that throughout the journey of capturing the monster alpha, but now that I was back, it was all I found myself thinking about now.
I asked my men to put the monster in a special cell that's made to house people like him so they'd be unable to escape no matter what. With that taken care of, not having anything else to do and feeling eager to break the news of my journey being successful, I decided to go to the wedding venue, which was only a walk's distance. It was at the pack's garden, a favorite spot of mine which meant so much to me.
As I drew up to the venue and heard the sounds of people jubilating, a wave of pain and sadness consumed me but I urged myself to not let myself be consumed by those emotions, reminding myself that I had just captured the monster alpha and should be very proud of myself right now.
When people began to notice my presence at the wedding, a murmur went through the crowd and in no time, I was being pointed at and laughed at. I held my head high and walked through the crowd till everyone noticed me.
My parents looked furious and so did Mia and Chris.
"What is she doing here? Didn't he reject her freak ass?" Someone blurted and everyone burst into laughter.
"How desperate…" another one added and they all laughed again.
I ignored those words because this wasn't a new occurrence for me. A smile was plastered across my face when my father stalked towards me.
"Dad, I caught him! I caught –" I was still speaking when a slap landed on my face, rendering me frozen with my eyes wide open.
"What are you doing here?!" He thundered as I held my burning cheek.
"I already caught the monster alpha." I whispered, voice shaking to my utmost embarrassment. My father looked like he was about to strangle me.
"Liar! You're here to try getting Chris to get you back, right?" He demanded and I flinched while everyone began to murmur again.
"I did bring him back…"
"That's a lie. If anything, you're supposed to be killed instead, because there's no way you could have captured him." He snapped out and I gasped, mouth falling open.
