Axel's POV
"You're a weakling. I can't believe you're fantasizing about him while kissing me you bitch!" I heard him spat at someone before he leaned over me and picked up my phone which was now on the floor. Then he I felt him snatched the handkerchief in my hand.
"What the heck! What a girly handkerchief.
You're a gay aren't you that's why you can't even land a punch on me?" He said while mocking me. I saw him brought out a lighter and my eyes widened when I realized that he was about to burn the hanky. I got up from the floor and before he even light the lighter, I attacked him. I was so pissed off that he tried to burn Cassia's handkerchief. I kept on punching his face that he lost consciousness.
Cassia's POV
I was tossing and turning on the bed. I couldn't sleep at all. After what happened, Axel didn't come back and it was already 1 am. I sighed and got up. I went out of the room and went to the kitchen to get myself a glass of water. Then I got startled when I heard the doorbell rang. I peeped in the peephole to see who it was and I saw that irritating girl we saw this afternoon. My blood started to boil but I opened the door just to be surprised when I saw that she was not alone.
She was with Axel who clearly was drunk and she was having a hard time assisting him.
"What are you waiting for? Help me here! He can't walk properly because he's drunk" she hissed and I went to the other side of Dante and put his arm over my shoulder and then we helped him walked him to the couch. I gasped when I saw his bruises and there was even dried blood on his lips.
"What happened to him?" I asked Nerissa but she iust shrugged her shoulders.
"I don't know. I found him in a bar. Thankfully I tracked his phone through an app because when I called him, he was already drunk. I went to his location and I luckily I did because he got into a fight. Anyway, I need to go. I need to get some sleep because I have a shooting tomorrow" She said and that made me frowned. She doesn't sound like the girl I met in the elevator.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" She spat at me and her bitchy voice was back. I rolled my eyes at her.
"Nothing" I just answered and walked her to the door. She was about to leave when she remembered something in her bag and brought it out.
"Give this to Axel" she just said and handed me a phone and a pink handkerchief before she left.
When I returned to the living room, I put the phone on the coffee table. Then I inspected the handkerchief. It's too girly to be his. Then my eye brows creased when I took a good look at it. It looked familiar. I was about to turn it to the other side when I heard Axel moaned. I dropped the handkerchief on the coffee table and went to the kitchen to search for an ice pack.
I attended his bruises and he never woke up. Then I noticed him sweating. I gulped and shook my head of his state. I started to lift up his shirt over his head but it was so hard to take it off of him. I raised his hands up and pulled his shirt. I was almost hovering over him when I got surprised when he suddenly opened his eyes. He was staring intently at me and then he lifted his hand and touched my cheek with the back of his hand.
"D-don't...leave...me again-—-----" He mumbled.
I got curious of who he was talking about. I didn't know if I heard it right though. I stared at him and was about to ask him what was it when he closed his eyes and continued sleeping. I sighed and went to get something for him to wear and a blanket. It took me at least 5 minutes to successfully take off his shirt. I frowned when I saw some scars on his upper left chest to his shoulders. They weren't that visible but I have a strong hunch that it came from a bad injury. I brushed the thoughts off and put him a new t-shirt on. I looked down on his pants and my cheeks heated in embarrassment. No! I can't do it! I'll just leave his pants on. I took off his shoes and socks.
When I finished putting the blanket over him, I unintentionally stared into his face. I even got closer to him to inspect him. He's really handsome I must admit. As much as I hated him, there's something about him that felt so achingly familiar.
My eyes looked down to his lips and I gasped when I felt a sudden sensation when I remembered the rough kiss he gave me. The urge to kiss him was so strong that it took all my willpower to get away from him. I quickly went to my room before I do something that I knew I would regret.
I woke up when I heard my phone ringing endlessly. I groaned in irritation but I reached for it and answered without seeing who it was.
"Hello"
"Hello miss Greene. This is Saint Peter's Hospital.
You need to come here now. The doctor needs to talk to you" I sat up abruptly and my senses came to life upon hearing what she said. I cut off the call and quickly went to the bathroom to take a bath and brush my teeth then quickly dressed. When I went out of the room, I searched for Axel around the penthouse but I couldn't get a glimpse of him. I just shrugged my shoulders and opened the main door.
I swiftly closed the door and went out of the building. I was outside when I realized that my car wasn't here. I groaned in frustration and ran towards the bus stop and luckily the bus arrive in under a minute. When I reached the hospital, the doctor was already in the ICU where my mom stayed for almost 3 days now.
"What happened?" I asked him while praying that it was not a bad news. To my surprise, he smiled at me.
"Nothing. We can operate your mom today and we want your consent, that is if you want to" I frowned at him and my mouth parted.
Then I realized that Axel arranged it all. He was doing his part of the deal and I felt relieved.
"Please doctor, do your best to save my mom" I asked him and he nodded. Soon after that, they started the operation and I kept on praying while waiting outside the surgery room. I didn't know how many hours have passed. I felt my stomach grumbled. I've never eaten anything since this morning and my body was already complaining but I just ignored it. I didn't have the appetite. I was seating on the chair with my hands clasped together when I felt a presence on my left side. I tilted my head up and saw Axel's emotionless face, looking at me.
"What are you doing here?" I asked coldly. He sat beside me and noticed he had a plastic bag with him.
"Nothing. I just happened to have a meeting nearby so I thought I'd drop by" He answered then he handed me the paper bag he was carrying.
"What's this?" I asked him curiously while inspecting it.
"I bought it for someone but since I'm here and you looked hungrv. I'm giving it to vou" I rolled my eves
