Chapter 1 - Chapter One: Up All Night Party!

I didn't know how crazy things were about to get with my life. I live alone in an small apartment, by myself. I don't have a lot of time to do anything fun. I'm always working part-time at my local video rental store at Fun Flicks!

I don't know what I'd do without my day job at the Fun Flicks! video rental store. I always enjoy getting customers check out their favorite video rentals and giving them their review about them.

It was Friday night in the fall of October. We were in the middle of closing up Fun Flicks! video rental store. The manager was turning off the lights. And I was shutting down the cash registers. Getting ready to count my teal.

"I'm going home early for the night," my friendly boss-manager Mr. Mango said, cheerfully. "Don't forget to lock up the video store, after you get done, counting your teal, okay buddy?" he asked, friendly.

I nodded and smiled at my manager. He turned out the front window store lights as he headed out of the video rental store. I was now all by myself in the manager's office, putting away the cash register drawer, to make sure I didn't go over my teal.

I usually don't mind being the last person to leave for getting off late. Everybody always finishes cleaning up everything before I have time to count my cash teal. It was about ten 'o clock and I was getting ready to go home.

I don't know how long it took me to finish counting my cash register teal, but I knew I couldn't go home. Until everything was counted for and put away. That's when I heard somebody at the front glass door of the video rental store. I tried to ignore, because I didn't want to lose count of my teal. I was almost done. But I didn't want to ignore the person pounding his fists at the front door either.

"Please! Somebody! You've got to open up the door and let me in!" I overheard the stranger shout through the glass door. As I was counting some nickels and dimes, I accidentally dropped some of the change of I was counting. And spilled it's contents all over the table.

I swore under my breath. Then, I quickly picked up the lose change on the floor. And put in the money drawer on the table. I grabbed my key rings out of my pocket. And walked out of the manager's office.

I headed to the back side of the glass front door. But when I got there, I didn't see anybody there! "Are you kidding me?" I asked. Somebody just wanted to give me a scare. I didn't want to be all night. But if this kept up, I would have to call the police.

I started to walk back to the store, and enter the manager's office, to finish counting my drawer, when suddenly. The lights in the video rental store went out on me. "Great," I muttered. I grabbed a little flashlight out of my pocket I carried with me. For security reasons, and went to the back of the store.

I tried located the circuit breaker. I shone the light on the circuit breaker. And flipped some of the switches to turn the power lights back on. When suddenly, I screamed and jumped almost dropping my flashlight at my feet.

There was a stranger appearing before me! He looked tough and had was built like a wrestler. He had a long, black beard and his hair tied up in a ponytail. "I don't want you working here anymore, kid," he rasped.

"What did you say?" I stammered, angrily. "I like my job. Who are you to tell me I'm not a good employee?" I demanded. I wanted to call the cops on this guy, immediately. He was really scary looking. And was getting on my nerves. I started to back away against the wall.

"Nobody likes the movies anymore," he continued. "You should give up your day job. There's something I want to show you," the strong, muscle-built stranger said. "Come with me now. And forget about the life you were never met to have to begin with," the strong stranger said.

I didn't want to be around this threatening guy anymore. He was really starting to bother me to death. I started to grab my cellphone out of my pants pocket. He started ringing on me. I screamed, and the phone slipped from my hand. And dropped to the carpeted floor.

The stranger before me, slowly bent down and picked up the phone. He smiled and handed the ringing cellphone back to me. "Thank you," I said. I slowly and carefully took the phone from the muscled stranger before me.

Looking at the lighted phone in my hands. It was actually a text from somebody. I turned on the power switch. I viewed the screen and hit my messages. Looking at my text message, I didn't know who this person was doing in my contacts.

I clicked on the message contacts button. I read the text: Hi, you are invited to have some fun all night long with us at the Killer Monster Party invitation! Begins on Halloween night at midnight all night long! Bring a scary costume to wear! It's going to be one killer monster party!" the text read. And then it disappeared from the text message.

I turned and looked at the muscle man in front of me. And smiled, innocently. "Listen, it's getting late. I'm going to just go ahead and lock up for the night. You can show yourself out, already? Okay?" I asked, trying to walk away from the strong stranger.

He roughly and quickly pushed a hand at my shoulder, pushing back hard against the circuit breaker. "Not going anymore. Until you come with me to a party," he continued.

I frowned and then shrugged, like I wasn't interested. "You don't know anything on how to have fun at a party," I said. The big dude just growled at me and pushed and shoved me against the wall again, harder this time.

"You work too much, kid," he growled. "You need to have some fun. Live a little. Get excited about doing something dangerous to get on your wild side," he said. "I've seen you work here long enough to know how bored you are at this job. Time to get out of your shell for a bit. Let me take you to this party with some friends of mine I hang out from the joint downtown," he said.

I started sweating a little. And I was feeling nervous around him. "Look, you seem like someone who knows how to have fun and everything. But I'm okay with working here at my job. I know what I'm doing. I'm good at making sales. And I never lose a customer," I said, honestly. "I don't have time to get out at waste my life away," I continued.

"You don't understand, kid," said the stranger. "This is once in a lifetime opportunity to party with a real rock star. I was like you back in the day. Afraid to have fun. Then, I got everything I ever wanted. This party will change your life forever. It's time to let life get a little better. Or you'll be sorry you ever met me in the first place," he continued.

The lights in the ceiling flickered on and off. In the shadows, I was a little intimidated to be up against a scary, muscle-looking dude. Who was not interested in being my friend.

That's when I turned around to look at the manager's door. Because I thought I heard someone walking in there. When I turned my attention to look back at the mysterious stranger before me...he had vanished out of nowhere before me...
