"You! Conniving! Vile! Woman!" Each of Ed's mum's fingers clawed my scalp and hooked my hair out in a yank.
Tears of stinging pain pooled in my eyes but I did not fight back. Even when the trail of my gown ripped by the heels of her shoes, I made no effort to win this.
Instead, it was the others who tried to stop the madness, pulling us apart.
"She did this… On purpose!" His mum huffed. Her finger pointed at me across the rectangular wooden table and her expressions filled with disgust.
Ed ignored her. He scanned for injuries on my body, combing my hair gingerly with his fingers. I knew this day would have come. Yet, I sat defeated on the floor, having enough of the emotional rollercoaster.
"Maisie wouldn't do that," Aunt Sera stated. Uncle Jude and her stood in front of me, guarded.
"Why else would she marry into the same family?!"
"Until when do you plan to keep this a secret?" His dad pried.
