Chapter 4 - CHAPTER FOUR

It's been over a week and there was still no sign of Alex. I was getting impatient and the littlest things were pissing me off. It was like he suddenly dissapeared into thin air the moment he knew something was up, that sleazy bastard!

"What if he isn't in New York." Viktor said as he manouvered the car out of the warehouse. "There's a high chance he ran away the moment he found out you were looking for him."

"He didn't." I said quietly. "Alex is still in New York and he probably finds it amusing playing this hide and seek game with me. He's here, I know he is."

He cleared his throat, picking his words carefully. "Do you think Sum..Do you think she would know where he is?"

I hadn't spoken to Summer since what happened at my study and I wasn't ready to. Maybe when I find Alex and make him pay for what he did, then I could face her.

I had ordered the guards to make sure she was taken care of properly but that was about it. She wasn't allowed to see Thanasis, I told him she went on a trip for a while. He had cried for hours because he wanted to follow her too, but he had forgotten all about that once his favorite tv show was put on.

"Talk to anyone you can who knows about Alex's whereabouts." I stared outside the window, watching the city pass by.

Viktor nodded, not pushing the question any further. "Should I take you home?"

We stopped by a red light and beside my car was a man on a power bike flirting with some ladies in a car. They giggled at something he said while he showed off his bike and then a particular person came to mind immediately.

"No, take me to Agatha's."

Viktor glanced at me from the rearview mirror. "An early drink."

I glanced at the man again. "A bastard I should have thought of sooner."

Agatha's was the only bar in town that was always full even during the day. There was nothing special about the alcohol, instead it was the people you could meet there. Hitmen, drug lords, bodyguards, people who can make you dissapear like you never existed, all sorts of scums lurking around.

The moment I stepped in, the entire bar fell silent and all eyes were on me as I walked in with my men trailing behind me.

"Adonis Kostas, you are a sight for sore eyes." Agatha beamed. She was a short light skinned woman with short hair and tattoos from her neck down.

I walked towards the bar. "Where Johnny?"

"What did that idiot do again? I've warned him several times to stay out of trouble especially on your turf."

"Agatha." I cut her off. "I don't need your bullshit, where is Johnny?" I said, my voice laced with untamed anger.

Her eyes darted to the men behind me. "He's not here."

A moment later, a young man came out from the door behind her.

"Agatha we're out of the good bourbon again, I've told you to restock as much as you…" The moment his eyes met, shock registered on his face and he bolted for the door but one of my men was already on him.

"It would be in everybody's favour to walk out of here now." Viktor said.

One by one without even hesitating, everyone headed for the exit, leaving us alone.

I stared back at Agatha. "You lied to me."

"Adonis, please let him go. Whatever it is we can talk it out.

"I'm not going to kill you because I'm fond of this place and it won't be the same without you bubbling energy, but lie to me again Agatha and I'll cut off your tongue. Now leave this room while I talk to Johnny."

Her lips formed into a thin line as she stared between me and Johnny who was struggling against the grip of my men.

"Don't mess up my floor Adonis." She walked into the storage room and locked the door behind her.

Once she was gone, I turned my attention Johnny.

"Put him on his knees." I ordered.

"What's going on?! I didn't do anything Adonis!" He protested.

"You didn't, I'm just here to ask you a question and if you answer me correctly I'll let you go without harming a hair on your head."

I pulled out a chair and sat in front of him.

"Now the question is really simple. Where is Alex?"

He furrowed his brows in confusion. "Alex? I don't know where he is, we haven't spoken in a while."

I crossed my hands in front of my chest. "Bullshit, you're close friends for some awfully weird reasons. If there's anyone who know about his location it's you."

"I am serious, I don't know where he is."

"Really? Then why did you run away the moment you saw me."

"Because the great Adonis Kostas came to find me at my work place. It definitely couldn't be just to say hi."

"So save me the drama and tell me where Alex is. My patience is wearing out."

"I honestly don't know Adonis, we haven't spoken in a while. You have to believe me." He said frantically.

I sighed. "Does anyone have a knife or something really sharp with them, enough to cut off some fingers."

Viktor pulled out a sharp blade from his coat while my men forced Johnny's hand flat on the nearest table.

"No please! Don't do this Adonis!" Johnny begged.

"I'll ask you again and you better be honest with me or I'll chop of your fingers. Let's see if you lady friends would like a man with no fingers. Where is Alex?"

"I really don't know! The last time we spoke he never said anything about going anywhere!" He was sweating profusely, tears building in his eyes.

I nudged my head towards Viktor and he began with his thumb.

"Oh my God!" Johnny screamed at the sight of blood. "Wait! Wait! The last time we spoke was three days ago, he didn't mention anything about moving or travelling because I didn't even know he had pissed you off."

"Get to your point Johnny. It's way harder and more painful to saw through your bone."

"Waves! I heard waves! Like he was in a beach or something. Alex has a little beach house in…"

"Boston." We said in unison.

That's where that bastard was and that was why I couldn't find him. I had totally forgotten about his beach house he had purchased years ago. He hadn't told me about it and the only reason reason why I knew about it was because of house documents I found lying on his desk one day.

"Is there anything else I need to know?" I asked.

"He might or might not be there, he said something about it being too obvious." His stared pleadingly at Victor.

I stood up from where I sat. "Are you just saying that so I won't kill you if I get there and I don't find him."

"I don't know." He whispered.

"I hate uncertainty." I glanced at Victor and he pulled the knife off his thumb.

Johnny's relief hadn't lasted long before Viktor slammed it back down, slicing through his thumb. My men let him go immediately as blood gushed out through the open wound.

"No!!" Johnny screamed and held his leftover thumb in pain.

"That's for incase I don't find him, your lucky it was just a piece of your thumb I settled for."

Agatha came rushing out of the storage room and her face widened in shock at what she saw.

"I'll pay for the clean up." I said as I walked out.
