I knew something was off the moment I entered Seraphina's room and found her with Orion. The tension between them was thicker than blood, charged with something I couldn't name but instantly despised. When Orion brushed past me, I caught his scent mingled with hers. A primal rage ignited in my chest.
Something had happened between them. I was sure of it.
After Orion left, I turned to Seraphina, studying her. Her cheeks were flushed, her breathing slightly irregular. She looked beautiful and utterly infuriating.
"What did my brother want?" I demanded.
She lifted her chin in that defiant way that made me want to both shake her and kiss her senseless. "To inform me that my house arrest has been lifted. Isn't that what you came to tell me too?"
"That's not all you two discussed." I stepped closer, crowding her space. "What else happened in here, Seraphina?"
Her eyes narrowed. "Nothing that concerns you. Now if you'll excuse me, I'd like to enjoy my newly granted freedom."
