"Never heard of You."
Russell glanced at her expressionlessly.
"Impossible!"
Stormfront was startled, letting go of her arms uneasily.
Could it be that after so many years, her children still resented her deeply, never mentioning her, so much so that the descendants of the Vought family didn't even know she existed?
"It's not what You think, my last name isn't Vought."
"An illegitimate child?"
Stormfront raised an eyebrow, having misunderstood something, and sneered.
"Then that's perfectly normal…"
She habitually wanted to mock him further, but was coldly interrupted by Edgar raising his hand.
"Mrs. Vought, You can join The Seven, but You must pass a test.
I don't know if after several decades, You still have enough ability to handle important responsibilities."
Two men with cold demeanors then walked out of the woods.
One was as strong as a small mountain, covered in colorful tattoos, with fierce eyes, like a ruthless enforcer kept by a gang, his fists cracking as he clenched them.
The other had single eyelids, long narrow eyes, wore flat-lens glasses, was tall and thin like a mummy, wore a cold expression, and had his hands in his pockets, like a high-IQ perverted serial killer only seen in documentaries.
"Only the two of them?"
What ability is needed to act and be a star in The Seven? The test must be about another job she can handle.
Stormfront snorted coldly, waving at the two men dismissively.
Anyway, it wouldn't take her much time.
As the first superhuman, there were no more than three people stronger than her in the entire history of superhumans. Stormfront had extreme confidence in her own strength.
Edgar's idea, using the test as a cover, could make Stormfront cooperate voluntarily.
Russell simply adopted it. He waved his hand, indicating they could start.
Edgar gave the two men a look. They took out a vial of Temporary Compound Five serum and injected it into the veins in their necks. Accompanied by a low growl, a temporary, transformative change occurred.
"Temporary Compound Five?"
Stormfront's eyes showed astonishment. Had the Vought experiment succeeded so quickly?
Not long ago, Vought suddenly made significant resource investments in the Temporary Compound Five research project. Could it be because they reached a breakthrough at a critical juncture!
Her face subtly darkened. This was not good news for her plan to build a superhuman army to cleanse the World!
Roar!
The tall, muscular man's veins bulged all over his body. He let out a low growl like a Beast, leaping high and charging forward. A layer of fiery red light appeared on his body, making him look like a launched missile, his momentum astonishing.
Crack!
Stormfront waved her hand, launching an attack. A thick bolt of lightning shot towards the tall, muscular man. The mere aftermath of the lightning bolt turned the surrounding trees into charcoal.
However, the tall, muscular man actually withstood the lightning and charged towards her, swinging his fist down.
Boom!
The ground shook violently. Stormfront flew away to dodge. The spot where she was standing collapsed into a deep pit about ten meters in diameter, as if it had been bombed by a missile. Seeing the power of the opponent's attack, her expression changed.
With the previous current, she was in a bad mood and had no intention of holding back, yet it didn't injure this guy.
The most terrifying thing was that the destructive power of his single punch seemed to surpass even her full-powered strike.
Bang!
Missing with one punch, the tall, muscular man immediately cracked the ground and leaped up, charging and striking towards Stormfront in mid-air like a heat-seeking missile locked onto its target.
"Sir, allow me to introduce 'Red Missile'. He was once a gang enforcer with over a dozen lives on his hands.
After using Temporary Compound Five, he displayed a formidable physique and strength, possessing extremely astonishing impact force. He can leap and charge for several miles in the air, almost flying, like a live, high-yield missile."
While the battle was happening over there, Stormfront faced Red Missile's attack as he bounced and charged into the air, as if facing a formidable enemy.
Meanwhile, Russell sat calmly in the car, and Edgar stood beside him like a subordinate of a Roman emperor introducing gladiators to the emperor.
Whoosh!
"Stop him, make him stop!"
Stormfront's lightning strike on the leaping and charging Red Missile only made him turn slightly red.
Red Missile's fist, like a heavy cannon, tore through the air and grazed past her ear, making her cheek burn and bleed, terrifying her immensely.
Relying on her agility in the air, Stormfront barely managed to dodge Red Missile's fist. Unexpectedly, Red Missile, with agility unsuited to his size, turned in mid-air and delivered another elbow strike.
It directly hit her, causing her nose bridge to collapse and bleed, sending her flying backward.
Bang bang bang!
"Make him stop, kid! He's beating up Your great-grandmother! Is this fun?!"
Flying back dozens of meters, she broke over a dozen large trees and crashed heavily into the deep pit. Stormfront trembled all over from the pain. She climbed up, wiped her face, and saw her hand was covered in blood, feeling both angry and terrified.
She had never suffered such severe injuries, and all within just a few seconds.
Red Missile's single blow broke Stormfront's nose bridge, leaving her face covered in blood, but Russell remained expressionless, still not quite satisfied.
"The strength is barely acceptable, but the agility is like a large cricket, not very useful."
If the strength were strong enough to deal with Homelander, he could do it alone.
To deal with Homelander, only he can be the main force; no one else has that level of strength.
Russell didn't expect the temporary superhumans screened so quickly to be the main force. It would be enough if they could just provide some restraint.
This Red Missile's ability leans more towards frontal assault.
'However, he can add to the numbers for dealing with Homelander.'
"Sir, there is another one." Edgar saw that Russell was not very satisfied and reminded him softly and carefully.
Seeing Russell still sitting in the car with an indifferent expression, and hearing the conversation between the two men in the distance with her enhanced hearing, Stormfront felt that the situation was not right.
This didn't seem like a test for her; it was more like using her as a disposable tool to test the abilities of these two people.
Red Missile leaped and charged again.
"Edgar, what are You doing? I'm not playing with You anymore!" A chill went down Stormfront's spine, and she couldn't help but panic. She leaped high into the air, dodging Red Missile's grab, and wanted to fly away towards the sky.
Unlike the reckless Red Missile who attacked directly, the other tall, thin man coldly watched his teammate charge up and exchange a couple of moves with Stormfront, roughly figuring out her abilities. He didn't make his move until Stormfront was about to escape, doing so unhurriedly.
The tall, thin man suddenly stretched out his arm, like a snapped rubber band, extending over a hundred meters, and grabbed the fleeing Stormfront in mid-air.
"Let go of me, what kind of freak are You!"
Her leg caught by the arm, Stormfront turned back in surprise. She fiercely unleashed lightning with both hands, striking the arm that was holding her, but it caused no pain or injury.
A huge force came!
The World turned upside down.
The tall, thin man suddenly yanked her back to the ground like a small sparrow tied with a string, slamming her against the surrounding trees.
"Sir, he is 'Rubber Killer', a perverted murderer who specifically targets weaker women. He likes to assault women and then kill his victims by strangling or smothering them.
After taking Temporary Compound Five, he gained the ability to shapeshift. Both his defense and strength are quite considerable, especially his defense against blunt force trauma.
Even Red Missile's strength cannot injure him."
Edgar introduced him at the right time.
"This guy isn't very honest."
Russell saw through Rubber Killer's ridiculous little scheme with a single glance.
