In the era of 1980 - 1990s, many Javanese people participated in the transmigration program. the goal of achieving a better life, no different from Mr. Hendar and his wife. Even though life in Java was considered sufficient , he felt interested in transmigrating to Papua Island, because the residents would get their rights in the form of 2 hectares of agricultural land and village land . Around 1992, Mr. Hendar's determination was realized, together with his wife and three children, he left Java to follow the transmigration program to Papua , even though at that time many relatives and neighbors chose to go to the Sumatra region . Mr. Hendar had his own thoughts about his future success in Papua .
Mr. Hendar then he sold the plantation land for supplies but he did not sell the house and land in the village . He thought that if he returned to the village at any time, there would be a place as a destination and even if at any time he failed in his travels, he could return home without being confused about looking for a location . However , it turned out that God's plan did not go according to what Mr. Hendar had hoped for . After several months on Papua Island, his wife had to leave for good . A sudden attack of illness left his wife paralyzed and she died just 3 weeks later . It was truly a deep sorrow, especially since his three children were still young, while Rika , the eldest daughter , who was only 12 years old at the time , had to help her father take care of her younger siblings .
Mr. Hendar, he works on other people's land and he doesn't get paid for his work . tired of supporting his family , he thought about moving to live with his relatives, but he didn't want to bother his family, which was also certain so that he could help take care of his three children even though it was hard . Mr. Hendar went through his days sincerely , He is determined to be a good father to his children .
