I think I just died.
Not like actual died. More like… my heart exploded and is now dust floating somewhere above this café.
Because Sebastian Blake just told me I belong to him.
Me.
Not the auction girl. Not the broken thing chained up in that hellhole. Me. In jeans and a uni hoodie, laughing about the janitor's cat with Jamie and the girls. Being normal.
And then he walked in.
Like a storm in a tailored coat. Every eye turned. The air froze. He didn't belong here—too sharp, too powerful, too Sebastian. I forgot how to breathe the second I saw him.
And then he said I was late.
Late for what, Sebastian?! Late to fall head over heels for you? Been there, done that, help me breathe.
I asked and he didn't answer. Just stared at Jamie like he could disintegrate him with his eyes. His hand? Firm on my back. Like he was claiming me.
"That you belong to me."
I swear, my soul levitated.
I couldn't speak. I just stood there like some open-mouthed fish, trying not to collapse on the floor from how fast my heart was going.
And he didn't even blink. He just said it. Like it was obvious.
I belong to him?
My cheeks are burning. I probably look like a tomato that got hit by a blush grenade. And the worst part? He's so calm. Like he didn't just wreck me with five words.
Everyone saw. The entire café went quiet. But all I saw was him. All I heard was his voice. All I felt was his hand on my back like it fit there.
Because maybe it does.
