The wind howled as the darkness settled in, as I raced through the corridor I saw it. I don't even know how to explain its appearance, it looked like a black mass with no features but tendrils as its appendages extending as it floated behind me. My breath became shallow as sprinted to avoid it. The once lively place is nowhere to be seen instead it filled with the screams of horror. I didn't look back but I felt it moving closer and closer towards me. And then I felt myself pulled into someone, as I tried to attack them that's when I saw him.
Nova. My best friend. His disheveled hair with the blood stains and injured forehead is in the verge of exhaustion. He is holding Chris who is now unconscious but still trying protect us. Never once we would have thought that a trip to beach would change our lives forever. We struggled to the exit from the resort, and I almost threw up when I saw the damaged bodies lying around.
When we were nearly outside when the monster appeared. It was still distracted and we made a run to our car. Fortunately, in the chaos he grabbed the keys, as I started the engine there was a deafening sound. The sound woke Chris up but our car crashed into another when felt a sharp pain in my head. As I was losing consciousness, I saw the teary face of Chris and regretful face of Nova. I tried to stay conscious to hear what they're arguing about but I can't, the last I heard was Nova telling me that to wait for him and the engine roaring to life.
When I opened my eyes, I immediately shut it and then I heard someone telling me to open it. The familiar voice made me open my eyes as I did, I was in a white space when I felt some one beside me. As saw him the scenery changed, I'm still in the wretched place, it was like an aftermath of a tsunami with water everywhere. The only difference is the there was no bodies and there were no injuries on him.
Then he smiled, a smile with regret and sorrow that made my heart ache. As if to comfort him, I reached out only for him to vanish with parting words that held a promise. Although I didn't hear him but saw him utter those words " I'm safe Sean, be safe and wait for me".
