Chapter 6 - 10

"Hmm, from a timing perspective, what triggered Cardinal Anthony's reaction this time should be the Jacob family demigod exploring the treasure."

"And she was severely injured due to the exploration, thus having to parasitize a rat."

"A severely injured Marauder pathway demigod..."

Aaron lightly tapped the table with his finger, his eyes flickering.

#132Chapter 132: Dusk Hermit Society

After waiting for a while and confirming there was no unusual reaction, Aaron put on the Death Mask and activated Spirit World Teleportation.

Williams Street, the Pound family's ancestral home.

Aaron's figure appeared, holding the paper crane folded by Will Auceptin in his hand, in case of any sudden developments.

The Mark of Night on his arm glowed faintly, and his whole body seemed shrouded in a layer of dark mist, having already entered a state of Concealment.

Even with Will Auceptin's revelation, Aaron still activated Spirit Vision and circled the Pound family's ancestral home to observe. Only after detecting no abnormalities did he look in other directions on Williams Street.

A moment later, Aaron disappointedly withdrew his gaze, walked to the entrance of the Pound family's ancestral home, and lifted the state of Concealment.

The guards remaining at the ancestral home instantly spotted Aaron's figure. After confirming his identity, they quickly welcomed him inside.

While listening to the report from the captain of the remaining guards, Aaron went directly to the basement and confirmed that the seal originally placed there was still effective and had no issues.

Leaving the basement, Aaron still instructed:

"Double the number of guards originally kept, and focus patrols on the basement and surrounding areas to prevent anyone from digging tunnels nearby."

"How has Rafft Pound been recently? Has there been any unusual behavior?"

The guard captain took a neatly prepared document from his pocket, handed it to Aaron, and said:

"Lord Aaron, these are all the records regarding Rafft Pound up until the end of today."

"That esteemed Baron continues his usual profligate behavior. The 5,500 pounds he gained from selling the ancestral home has also been mostly squandered."

"However, within these seemingly consistent behaviors of his, there are some hidden details that aren't quite right."

"He rides a carriage past here every week, doing it quite discreetly. We only confirmed this after multiple comparisons. And he seems to be trying to confirm something."

Aaron nodded and handed the record back to him.

Backlund, deep within a certain sewer in the middle section of Buckland Street.

A beam of light appeared, and the faint phantom image of a clock flashed by. As if pulled by some force, it entered the body of a grey-white rat whose fur was matted with dirty water.

The rat's size instantly swelled several times, and its state was extremely unstable, filled with an aura of tyranny and madness.

A light flashed in its dark red eyes, instantly causing all creatures in the surrounding sewer to freeze in place.

Suddenly, a gasp echoed in the sewer, as if coming from the depths of the soul.

Immediately after, a hysterical voice emerged from within this grey-white rat:

"Why is this happening?"

"I am a descendant of the Jacob family, aren't I?"

"Why is this happening?"

The resentful, sharp voice echoed throughout the entire sewer area. The surroundings were deathly silent, as if everything had died.

After giving his instructions, Aaron returned to the villa in the Queen's Borough. It was too late, so he planned to visit Archbishop Anthony at St. Samuel Church tomorrow to discuss matters concerning the Southern Continent.

After an unknown amount of time, Aaron suddenly woke up in his dream, sensing a force attempting to pull him into deep sleep and invade!

"Is it Will Auceptin? But didn't He already give me a revelation? Why would He want to enter my dream again?"

At the same time, Aaron felt his consciousness constricting, as if hiding from something.

No, this is different from normal dream entry. I have clearly regained my rationality and should be able to break free and wake up on my own, but I can't leave the dream no matter what.

This isn't Will Auceptin. Who is it?

After a brief attempt, Aaron discovered more strangeness, and questions and vigilance immediately arose in his heart.

However, he wasn't overly nervous, as this was in Backlund, and he could still sense the Mark of Night on his wrist.

However, the current sensation made Aaron very uncomfortable. He knew clearly that he was sleeping and could even sense and manipulate his body outside the dream, but no matter what, he couldn't wake up.

Immediately after, blurry white mist filled Aaron's vision, condensing into a figure whose appearance couldn't be clearly seen.

Aaron's eyes narrowed slightly. His consciousness penetrated the dream, causing his physical body in reality to move silently. He then put his hand into his pocket, touching the paper crane folded by Will Auceptin.

At this moment, the blurry figure spoke calmly, carrying a hint of temptation:

"Leave Backlund and stop investigating anything related to the missing persons case."

"Someone from the King's faction?" Aaron's mind raced. He then pretended to still be half-asleep and responded silently and blankly:

"Okay."

The blurry figure chuckled:

"Truly worthy of being that one's favored. To be able to maintain consciousness in this situation, relying on a Sequence 6 rank."

"Discovered?" Aaron was slightly taken aback. He didn't respond, maintaining his silence.

At the same time, he silently muttered to himself:

No, no, no, you should say, truly worthy of being the great Lord of Order...

The blurry figure smiled and shook its head, its attitude quite casual:

"The color of your emotions has changed significantly. Perhaps you've even guessed something."

Since he had been discovered, Aaron stopped pretending and immediately spoke in a deep voice:

"Who are you?

"And who do you represent?"

The blurry figure was startled for a moment, then sighed and smiled:

"You don't need to know who I am."

"As the heir to the East Tarke family, you should be very clear that everything has its destiny, and every era is the same."

"Do not defy the destiny of an era, its prevailing trend. This will only cause you and your family to become sacrifices of history."

The destiny of the era, the trend of the era, sacrifices of history...

Hearing this, Aaron's pupils contracted slightly. Overturning his previous thoughts, a term suddenly leaped into his mind:

"Hermits of Dawn"!

But Aaron didn't speak, didn't utter those words. Instead, he suppressed his emotions as much as possible, preventing himself from making too many connections.

Seeing Aaron fall silent, the blurry figure said nothing more. It transformed back into the spreading white mist and vanished from this dreamscape.

Aaron instantly broke free from that state. He suddenly opened his eyes, grabbed the paper crane by his hand without hesitation, wrote a message on it, and then closed his eyes again.

After an unknown amount of time, Aaron suddenly woke up in his dream, finding himself unconsciously on a desolate plain. Under his feet were black stones, and there wasn't even a single weed.

In the center of the plain stood a black spire, around which was coiled a giant, scale-less silver-white serpent. Its body was covered in dense patterns and symbols, forming interconnected wheels, and around each wheel were different markings.

At this moment, its head was raised, its bright red eyes staring coldly at Aaron.

Aaron cleared his throat, bowed, and said:

"Esteemed Mister Speaker, good evening."

A human-like look of disdain flashed in the silver-white serpent's eyes. Its massive mouth opened, emitting Will Auceptin's voice:

"Alright, no need for pleasantries. I know what you want to ask. The person who invaded your dream earlier has left. No one is monitoring you now."

Chapter 133 Transaction and Summons

Aaron breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this, his eyes shifting slightly as he continued,

"A few days ago, I asked someone to teach the Rose School a good lesson for you. Could you do me a small favor?"

"You don't need to act. You just need to disrupt fate for the next week, or two weeks at the latest, to conceal anything special about my fate other than being a Blessed of the Evernight Goddess."

The silver-white long serpent's crimson eyes oddly scrutinized Aaron up and down, then nodded.

Splash!

The dream instantly shattered. Aaron opened his eyes, sat up from the bed, and went to the adjacent compartment.

After confirming with Will Auceptin that no one was monitoring him, Aaron quickly set up a wall of spirituality and ascended above the dark gold mist.

"That was definitely not a simple dream intrusion!" Aaron frowned slightly, tapping the throne with his finger, recalling the initial dream.

The reason for this judgment was simple: the power had first attempted to drag him into deep slumber! A 'Nightmare' with this ability could directly see dreams and wouldn't make such a mistake.

Aaron had collaborated with the 'Requiem Master' Sost multiple times and had even used the 'Ring of Concealment' to record the 'Nightmare's' Beyonder abilities, so he was very familiar with them. Thus, Aaron was very certain about this.

"Therefore, the guy who was acting mysterious just now didn't use a 'Nightmare'-like Beyonder ability or magical item, but some other method."

"Hermits of Dawn, Adam, Psychology Alchemists, Hovin Rambis..."

Aaron muttered to himself, his thoughts gradually clearing.

"If that's the case, it should be a member of the Psychology Alchemists' Council who made a move. In Backlund, it's most likely Hovin Rambis."

"After knowing my location, did they use the collective subconscious sea around me to infiltrate my Mind Island and directly affect my mental body?"

Recalling the feeling of being unable to break free from the dream despite having regained his rationality, Aaron became even more certain of his idea.

As if suddenly thinking of something, Aaron sat on the throne, quickly drew the Black Emperor card and merged it into his body. Using his control over the Kingdom of Disorder, Aaron examined his spiritual body from a strange angle.

After repeatedly confirming that he hadn't been psychologically influenced, Aaron exhaled and took out the Black Emperor card.

Aaron didn't worry or think this was Adam's instruction. It was more likely a transaction proposed by a member of the King's faction who had joined the "Hermits of Dawn."

Although the "Hermits of Dawn" only interfered with major issues related to the era's trend that Adam anticipated.

But as the leader of a secret organization, Aaron also clearly understood that similar organizations, besides upholding their own tenets and ideals, also involved mutual assistance among members.

The "Hermits of Dawn" had members from different fields, statuses, and Sequences. Apart from some who fanatically believed in the Original Creator, awaiting the coming of dusk and the awakening of the True Gods.

The others had their own interests and demands, such as Hermes, and also King George III. In such a situation, as long as the organizer didn't strictly control things from the beginning, internal commissions were bound to appear.

"Heh, they think my investigation might affect King George III's plan for godhood and intend for me to leave Backlund."

"But I'm not some nobody. You can't just expect me to leave without offering some benefits."

Thinking this, Aaron suddenly sighed:

"Other secret organizations primarily uphold their own tenets and ideals, mixed with mutual assistance among members, while my Council of Chaos is not so profound. There are only mutual commissions, no tenets or ideals..."

However, this was a common problem for all newly established secret organizations. Putting away his thoughts, Aaron's figure disappeared from the throne.

Late Wednesday night, Toscat Island, the easternmost island in the Sonia Sea.

As the easternmost colony of the Loen Kingdom, it faced off against the Gargoyle Archipelago belonging to the Feysac Empire to the north.

Toscat Island's economy was primarily based on plantations and pirate black market trade, which also led to the prosperity of bars, brothels, and casinos, making it a place where pirates were rampant.

The 'Future' arrived at the port of Toscat Island and forcibly docked at the pier.

Frank was beaming with joy, handing a whole suitcase filled with yellowish-green potions to Maric.

As Frank, who had the Sequence 8 'Physician' in his earlier Sequences, upon hearing that guests would experience bloodthirsty madness during the Blood Moon, he proactively concocted a potion with his unique formula for them.

Maric accepted the potion expressionlessly. If he hadn't tried the potion beforehand and felt its effects, he would have thought it was poison.

After thanking and bidding farewell to Frank, who wore a warm smile, and 'Star' Admiral Cattreya, who stood beside him.

Sharon and Maric, carrying the suitcase, left the 'Future' and boarded the pier of Toscat Island. Relying on their excellent physical fitness, their figures quickly disappeared.

Even on the ship, Sharon had heard Frank describe the situation on Toscat Island, knowing that the forces here were mixed and very chaotic.

Even though the Rose School's pursuit had been severely thwarted last time with the help of Queen Mystic Bernadette and that hidden existence's power, she didn't dare to let her guard down.

Sharon was clearly aware that she only had the strength of Sequence 6. After confirming that she had left the Future, the Rose School, having suffered heavy losses from the failed capture last time, would certainly search for them even more frantically.

Therefore, she decided to discreetly sneak in tonight to buy black market ship tickets. However, she didn't go to the bar Frank recommended, which had more pirates, but instead went to the 'Oak Bar' recommended by Cattreya.

She planned to head to Oravi Island early tomorrow morning – an island located on the 'Roselle Archipelago - Toscat' route.

The reason was simple: 'Blood' Admiral Senor's First Mate, 'Iron' Meveti, had recently appeared on Toscat Island.

Both being Sequence 6 'Living Corpses,' even if they teamed up, Sharon and Maric wouldn't be able to take him down in a short time, not to mention he had helpers.

To avoid revealing their whereabouts and alarming 'Blood' Admiral Senor, and subsequently being discovered by the 'Rose School' behind him.

Maric found a street broker and, through a 'friendly' exchange, had him buy two black market ship tickets to Oravi Island inside the 'Oak Bar'.

After getting the tickets, to prevent the guy from talking nonsense outside, Maric casually knocked him out and threw him into a room.

Thursday morning, Backlund, Loen, St. George's Borough.

"Thank you all for attending the opening ceremony of the 'East Tarc Charity Fund'..."

After the host's passionate speech, Aaron personally cut the ribbon. As Aaron was discussing the future development of the fund with other guests, Soro Bent quickly walked up to Aaron and whispered:

"Lord, the MI9 has agreed to your terms."

"However, Chunas Kolg asked me to inform you that King George III intends to summon you to the palace this Saturday, and the terms you proposed will be personally decreed by the King."

#134Chapter 134 Preparation before the meeting

Aaron was silent for a moment before nodding. The day after his dream was invaded, he submitted a request to MI9 to be transferred away from Backlund.

Aaron had already planned to leave Backlund. Knowing George III's plans and intentions long ago, he didn't intend to investigate further.

Since he had already attracted the attention of the "Twilight Hermit Order," it was only natural to quickly escape this whirlpool when his strength was insufficient and his wings were not yet fully grown.

However, George III summoned him at this time. Did he have other motives?

Thinking about these things, Aaron didn't exchange pleasantries with the other guests any longer. Leaving his butler to attend the rest of the opening ceremony, he made the most logical choice—to go to St. Samuel's Church.

Accompanied by the clatter of hooves, the carriage arrived at St. Samuel's Church in the North Borough. Aaron didn't seek out Archbishop Anthony but found a seat in the prayer hall and quietly prayed to the Goddess of the Night.

He spoke about the trend of the era, which he suspected was a warning from a Spectator demigod, his plan to go to the Southern Continent, and the matter of King George III summoning him.

Sitting on a chair in the prayer hall, Aaron quietly waited for a response while thinking to himself.

"Every king is bound by the Three Great Covenants, limited to Sequence 5 at most."

"But with the help of the Twilight Hermit Order, George III has bypassed this obstacle, conjuring another George III who is at most Sequence 5, thereby avoiding inspection by the major churches."

"According to Hewen Rambis in the original work, the head of the Psychology Alchemists, 'King of the Black Throne' Barros Hopkins, a Sequence 3 Dream Weaver, was personally responsible for making George III more 'talented'."

Aaron lightly tapped the armrest of the chair, listening to the bishop's sermon in the prayer hall, and the corners of his mouth couldn't help but curl up:

"However, this so-called talent is about making one's spirit and soul more like a high-ranking ancestor, thereby gaining recognition from the corresponding Beyonder characteristics or the spiritual imprints within Sealed Artifacts, allowing them to more easily overcome the huge negative effects brought by consuming Potions or wielding Sealed Artifacts."

"With George III's active cooperation, a Sequence 3 Dream Weaver is indeed sufficient to achieve this."

"Hmm, I need to be more careful in the future. Although this method can speed up digestion, it's by no means a perfect solution; it can even be said to have huge hidden dangers."

"Even if one can act in advance and make themselves 'more talented', reducing the impact of the spiritual imprints within the Potion, the spiritual imprints will also inversely alter the soul of the consumer or wielder, causing certain mutations."

"Making George III align with the spiritual imprint of a fallen Sequence 2 'Balancer' ancestor, thereby rapidly advancing to Sequence 2, and then transferring to the Black Emperor pathway to advance to Sequence 1."

"What a cunning plan, but George III is probably also a deeply hidden and insidious lunatic now. I must make more preparations."

"At the current timeline, George III already possesses a substantially higher Sequence, at least Sequence 2, and very likely has already become Sequence 1, just waiting for the tide of the era to surge to successfully ascend to the Black Emperor through the Blood Emperor's remains."

With such a Sequence, and a mix of the Black Emperor and Arbiter pathways, even with a conjured George III in between, Aaron was worried that He might discover his uniqueness.

As for asking the Churches of the Night, Storms, and Steam to arrest him, Aaron didn't even consider this most foolish approach, as they would only capture the conjured George III who was merely Sequence 5.

With a certain paranoid's own abilities and Sequence, as well as the resources at his disposal, and George III's full cooperation, the major Orthodox Churches alone would not have the ability to discern whether the captured George III was conjured.

Aaron changed his posture and looked at the emblem of the Night at the top of the church, his thoughts drifting further:

"Moreover, the Seven Deities in the Astral World have a rather ambiguous attitude towards someone wanting to become a 'Black Emperor'."

"Facing the about-to-shatter Primordial Barrier and the Outer Deities lurking outside, They are happy to see a mentally normal 'Black Emperor' born."

"However, for the sake of interests, They prefer it to be the one They support, but also to prevent a war between the churches from breaking out because of this, affecting each other's Anchors."

"Therefore, They will not give their respective churches too specific revelations, just letting them follow normal procedures. If they can find something, they will punish; if not, they will tacitly allow it to develop."

"Of course, during this process, it's not ruled out that a certain existence might want to cause some disruption, but it won't be so direct and obvious, as it will inevitably be stopped by other Deities."

"But They are all extremely restrained with each other, even the later World War was because George III died, and the Black Emperor could not reappear in a short time."

"The Goddess of the Night obtained the Uniqueness of the Death pathway, which directly angered the God of Combat. Coupled with the pushing and pulling of many forces, the War of Gods finally erupted."

In the current relatively restrained relationship, the Deities will not directly intervene. Aaron dared not go against the Twilight Hermit Order at this time.

Putting away his chaotic thoughts, Aaron prayed again. After waiting for a moment and confirming he received no response, Aaron stood up somewhat disappointed and walked towards the offering box, devoutly placing 200 pounds inside.

West Borough, Backlund.

Inside the Aodela family's villa, Louise Sears met Casimir, who was also a Baron.

This vampire, in his "prime," was the representative of the Vampire Marquis Nibbs Aodela.

After learning that Louise Sears hoped to obtain a very powerful item that could greatly enhance spirituality, her grandfather, Earl Mistral, recommended Louise to come here.

After several days of notification, as the most prominent figure among the younger generation of vampires and with Earl Mistral's recommendation, Louise obtained the opportunity to personally meet Marquis Nibbs.

As a powerful vampire active in the Fourth Epoch, that chaotic era, only here within Backlund's vampire community could one obtain magical items of that level.

Seeing the person arrive, Louise quickly stood up from the drawing-room sofa and bowed to the other party:

"Good evening, Baron."

Casimir smiled and nodded, being extremely friendly to this young vampire Baron.

Whether it was due to her background, or the meaning represented by her rapid advancement speed, especially as a beautiful lady, all these were reasons for him to show a sincere smile.

Without unnecessary talk, Casimir smiled and spoke, walking ahead:

"Good evening, Baroness Louise, please follow me."

Saying that, he turned and walked towards another staircase on the second floor.

Louise followed behind, feeling a bit constrained and nervous, but she wasn't afraid.

After all, a Vampire Marquis was ultimately just a Sequence 3. She had even met that great existence in the Chaos Council who could be compared to the Progenitor, so she naturally wouldn't feel fear because of this.

#135Chapter 135: Blood Clan Marquis Nibais

Louise's nervousness was simply due to the upcoming transaction. As a Blood Kin, lying in front of a Blood Kin Marquis who had made significant contributions and achieved great merit for their race always made Louise feel ashamed.

"Doing this will make the Blood Kin stronger, and in the future, I will also become a Blood Kin who makes such great contributions."

Louise silently encouraged herself in her heart, recalling the terms of the transaction she had previously reached with Mr. Favored through prayer.

After descending the stairs to the underground area, Louise Sears passed through several secret doors and entered a spacious, grey hall.

After Casimir Odra reported, a deep, aged voice slowly emerged from the coffin:

"Louise Sears, you may state your request."

Louise looked at Casimir Odra, who was standing to one side. He was momentarily stunned, then gave a dry chuckle and bowed before exiting the hall.

"Respected Lord Nibbs, I wish to obtain a demigod-level mystical item that can significantly enhance spirituality, preferably with minimal negative effects."

Seeing Casimir Odra disappear from the hall, Louise withdrew her gaze and responded without hesitation.

The underground hall fell silent for a brief moment. After several seconds, Nibbs Odra, lying in the coffin, spoke with a serious tone:

"A demigod-level mystical item, do you know what that means, Baroness Louise?"

Louise coughed dryly. She could very well understand Lord Nibbs' current mood, much like a distant relative's child suddenly asking to borrow a million.

"Only a fool would agree," Louise muttered inwardly, her expression unchanged as she spoke:

"Respected Lord Nibbs, I know what that means, and therefore I have offered generous exchange conditions."

"I am willing to exchange a Blood Kin Count Beyonder Characteristic. It comes from a Sequence 4 Witch King and was not obtained by killing a Blood Kin."

Louise quickly spoke while Marquis Nibbs had not yet responded, adding the explanation about the origin of the Beyonder Characteristic at the end to avoid misunderstanding.

The underground hall instantly fell silent. After a long time, just as Louise couldn't help but speak, Nibbs Odra, lying in the coffin, suddenly asked out of the blue:

"How did you obtain the Beyonder Characteristic for your promotion to Blood Kin Baron? The messenger I sent to Fenepot has returned."

"Your parents said you exchanged it for a Sequence 6 'Favored by the Wind' Beyonder Characteristic. Tell me in detail, where did you make the exchange?"

Louise's heart tightened, thinking, 'As expected,' but she had already prepared her response and immediately replied:

"Please, Lord Nibbs, isolate the area."

No response was heard, but the underground hall was instantly enveloped in a rich scarlet moonlight. Feeling her spirituality and inspiration continuously increasing, Louise subtly nodded and then spoke:

"I traded for that Blood Kin Baron Beyonder Characteristic at a very secretive gathering. This transaction was also proposed by a member of that gathering."

Without giving Marquis Nibbs time to ask further questions, Louise continued as Aaron had instructed, though her face also showed an uncontrollable excitement and joy:

"The member who proposed the transaction also asked me to convey a message to you—'Lilith is reviving!'"

When she uttered that sacred name, Louise's voice trembled slightly, but it was a tremor of surprise and excitement.

For thousands of years, the Blood Kin had received almost no clear divine revelations from their Ancestor. Even if there were any, they were vague, leading people to mistake them for evil gods like the "Original Moon," which caused some Blood Kin to have negative speculations.

Recalling Mr. Favored's words transmitted through prayer, even though his tone on the last two words, "reviving," was somewhat peculiar, it did not prevent Louise from believing it implicitly.

On one hand, it was reverence for the Ancestor; on the other hand, it was trust in the hidden existence known as the Lord of Order. All their conversations were relayed by that hidden existence.

Under these circumstances, Louise believed that Mr. Favored would not lie about this matter, and the Lord of Order had not objected to this statement either.

For a moment, the underground hall, enveloped in scarlet moonlight, fell into a deathly silence once again.

After an unknown period, just as Louise was still pondering the relationship between the Lord of Order and her Ancestor, Marquis Nibbs suddenly spoke in a low voice:

"I am aware of your request, but I need some time. You can wait outside the hall for now."

Louise nodded and, before the surrounding scarlet moonlight dissipated, added:

"Do not pray to the moon, and do not reveal this secret, otherwise it will affect the Ancestor's 'revival.'"

She received no response, but Louise didn't mind. She turned and left the underground hall, giving a slight nod to Casimir, who was standing not far away, and said nothing further.

As the stone door of the hall closed, Aaron, who was above the dark golden fog, also withdrew his gaze. Louise had prayed to him before entering the underground hall, and Aaron had seen the entire process through the prayer light spot.

Even when Marquis Nibbs isolated the area in the middle, relying on the Black Emperor card and his increasingly close connection with the Kingdom of Disorder, the image received by the prayer light spot only turned scarlet, but he could still see it.

Recalling the lack of response at St. Samuel's Church and some subsequent plans, Aaron sighed. He glanced at his pile of sundries, feeling a bit reluctant, but still condensed a light spot and sent it towards the prayer light spot below.

Louise, standing outside the underground hall, was slightly stunned. A scene appeared before her eyes:

Amidst the boundless dark golden fog, a familiar figure bowed and spoke:

"My Lord, please tell Louise that I am willing to exchange an item that can locate a corresponding Sequence 3 'Summoning Master' Sealed Artifact and a Blood Kin Viscount Beyonder Characteristic for a Sequence 4 Beyonder Characteristic or Sealed Artifact."

"After the transaction is completed, if you decide to deal with that Sealed Artifact, I can also provide assistance, but that demigod Beyonder Characteristic or Sealed Artifact must be from one of these three pathways: Warrior, Death, or Evernight."

.....

After watching the scene and receiving the information, Louise's red lips parted slightly, and she was momentarily speechless. So many Blood Kin Beyonder Characteristics, which were usually so hard to find, had appeared at once, including clues for Sequence 5, Sequence 4, and even Sequence 3.

If it weren't for her extreme trust in that hidden existence and Mr. Favored, Louise couldn't help but have some less than positive suspicions.

...

Aaron, seated on the throne, sighed. The demigod Beyonder Characteristics from the Warrior, Death, and Evernight pathways were, of course, to be sacrificed to the Goddess of Evernight.

As a Favored One, Aaron clearly understood his position. Without possessing matching strength, all cooperation was just empty talk. To receive help, one had to at least pay with items of equal value.

Chapter 136: Duke Olmer's Gaze (Two in One)

As Aaron thought this, the image transmitted through the prayer light point rippled, seemingly disturbed by some force, but it returned to calm after a moment.

Aaron's thoughts were also interrupted by this sudden change, and he looked at the tightly shut stone door through the prayer light point.

Even though Aaron borrowed all the power, the true owner of the prayer light point, Louise, was not in the underground hall. Separated by layers of barriers, Aaron could only see a faint, ethereal doorway inscribed with numerous mysterious symbols.

This was because the aura emanating from that ethereal doorway was too powerful, like a torch in the darkness, dazzling and eye-catching, which allowed Aaron to notice it despite the obstruction.

That ethereal doorway was the "Summoning Door"!

Aaron, who had already experienced a confrontation with the Rose School of Thought, quickly identified it, but a question immediately arose in his mind:

"What is Nibbs doing opening the 'Summoning Door'?"

"Could it be at the behest of a certain Blood Race Duke?"

.....

Beyond the stone door, in the spacious gray hall.

Suspended above the heavy coffin in the center of the hall, which was inscribed with numerous symbolic and magical markings, was a faint, ethereal doorway inscribed with numerous mysterious symbols.

A rich voice, whose age could not be discerned, came from within the doorway:

"Nibbs, what matter requires the chanting of my esteemed name? Has something happened in Backlund?"

As the voice spoke, grass, flowers, and even grains grew on the ground and walls at an incredible speed.

Numerous insects crawled among the dense plants. Even though he was still inside the coffin, Nibbs Odelia felt the vigorous life force.

Nibbs's respectful response came from within the heavy coffin:

"Respected Duke Olmer, I apologize for disturbing your slumber."

"I have encountered some doubts, and I am unsure how to make a decision. I wish to request the Duke's approval."

Duke Olmer! One of the three great dukes currently in charge of the Blood Race, an ancient powerhouse who existed before the Great Catastrophe, titled "Full Moon," over three thousand years old, who once followed the Ancestor Lilith!

Olmer's rich voice came from the doorway, accompanied by obvious curiosity:

"Tell me, what is going on?"

....

After listening to Nibbs's report, after a long silence, Duke Olmer's voice came from behind the door again:

"The sudden appearance of the Blood Moon last time, I did receive some vague revelations..."

Duke Olmer did not continue speaking, nor did he comment on the matter Nibbs reported. After saying something out of the blue, he added:

"That young Blood Race member is named Louise Sears, right?"

"Agree to her transaction. I will be watching from the side..."

The rich voice echoed in the lively underground hall, accompanied by Nibbs's respectful response.

Outside the stone door, Louise Sears was chatting with Baron Casimir Odelia, who stood beside her.

From his appearance alone, Casimir Odelia was a very charismatic middle-aged gentleman, but Louise knew that he was over two hundred years old.

He had witnessed the reign of Emperor Roselle in Intis, and later, because he had lived too long and feared being discovered by his neighbors, he moved to Loen.

As the grandson of Marquis Nibbs, Casimir had naturally traveled not only to Intis but also as far as the Rorsted Archipelago, and even established an underground intelligence organization in the "City of Generosity," Bayam. Only the Southern Continent had not been visited due to factors such as the Rose School of Thought.

It was also thanks to such rich experience and ability to handle affairs that he became the spokesman for Nibbs Odelia.

Louise ignored the baron's flattery and instead seriously recorded his travel experiences and insights, which were very helpful for her goal of traveling throughout the Northern and Southern Continents.

Just then, the closed stone door slowly opened, and Marquis Nibbs's voice came from within:

"Louise Sears, you may come in."

Louise's heart tightened immediately. After nodding apologetically to Baron Casimir beside her, she walked into the hall, while recalling the transaction with Mr. Blessed and the images that had just been transmitted.

As soon as Louise entered the hall, the stone door closed heavily. Louise was about to speak when she was shocked by the strange scene before her.

The originally spacious and lonely gray hall was full of life. There were mouth-like openings on the green grass, from which fibers flew out, capturing insects.

Flowers used their branches and leaves as hands, picking nectar themselves. Grains like wheat were heavy, but occasionally crying sounds came from within. The insects were all different from normal ones; some had snake heads, and some had bird faces...

Just as Louise's attention was drawn to this strange scene, Aaron, who was seated on the throne, turned his gaze to the center of the hall.

The coffin that was originally placed there was covered by those strange plants, which intertwined to form a vibrant tomb.

With the "True Sight" provided by the Kingdom of Disorder, Aaron clearly saw an ethereal doorway, normally invisible, suspended above the tomb formed by the intertwined plants.

A faint, projection-like figure appeared behind the doorway. Blood-red threads surged from the projection, spreading throughout the underground hall. All the strange plants and the vast life force were caused by those red threads.

Sequence 2 "Creator," this term instantly appeared in Aaron's mind. This corresponded to an Angel, and also one of the Blood Race Dukes.

However, Aaron did not panic. This Angel was not from the Fate pathway, nor the Arbitrator pathway or the Black Emperor pathway. As long as he did not use power to respond, and merely observed the prayer light point, it would not attract His attention.

"I agree to your transaction. The name of the Beyonder Item I intend to exchange is 'Crimson Eye,' and its appearance is a pendant."

As he spoke, rays of red light condensed into a pendant that seemed to be formed from dense blood, like a miniature red moon.

Nibbs's sudden voice startled Louise, and she instantly escaped the strange atmosphere created by some power contained within the surrounding strange plants.

"This must be caused by the power overflow of a very high sequence Blood Race..." This thought flashed through Louise's mind. As soon as her eyes scanned the pendant, she heard Marquis Nibbs's subsequent words:

"The 'Crimson Eye' can make an area within a certain range enter a full moon state, which can greatly enhance the wearer's spirituality and inspiration, and also accelerate the recovery of spirituality."

"At the same time, it can create an environment beneficial to oneself, creating a 'full moon' effect or concealing the moon in that area. Within a certain range illuminated by moonlight, one can gain abilities like instant teleportation."

"Furthermore, it can also cast the Moon Paper Figurine Substitution Technique. A paper figurine that seems to be condensed from crimson moonlight can be used as a substitute to avoid a fatal attack. It can be triggered passively or used actively."

Louise instantly broke free from her previous thoughts, her eyes shining as she listened to these abilities she had not yet encountered, secretly guessing at what sequence one could possess such abilities.

Nibbs paused at this point, then added:

"However, it is important to note that all abilities can only be used in the created full moon state. The negative effects of the 'Crimson Eye' are also generated because of this."

"Using the 'Crimson Eye' for more than 10 minutes will cause one to hear illusory whispers from within the full moon, making the user irritable and bloodthirsty."

"It can be used for a maximum of 12 minutes each time. Once it exceeds 12 minutes, one will be unable to escape the illusory whispers and will gradually go mad until their spirituality is exhausted and they die."

"If each use does not exceed ten minutes, there only needs to be a six-hour interval. If it exceeds ten minutes, there must be a twelve-hour interval before it can be used again."

"By simply paying attention to the time when using it, the negative effects of the 'Crimson Eye' can be effectively avoided."

"Normally, not using it but merely wearing it will only cause varying degrees of bloodthirst. This can be alleviated by drinking blood or suppressed by willpower, so it can be worn for a long time."

After listening to Marquis Nibbs's explanation, Louise's eyes lit up. She felt even more certain that Mr. Blessed would be satisfied and began to secretly calculate in her mind how much commission she could receive, her eyes almost turning into the shape of gold pounds.

Aaron, seated on the throne, nodded slightly, quite satisfied with this Beyonder Item. As expected of an ancient race that has been passed down since the Second Epoch, they indeed have many good things. Aaron was increasingly looking forward to the next transaction.

Louise, who had been brainstorming for a few seconds, quickly recovered and responded respectfully:

"Okay, Lord Nibbs. I will contact that trader as soon as possible and will give you a response this Saturday."

Nibbs's muffled response came from the coffin submerged in the strange plants. Just as Nibbs was about to let the young Blood Race member leave, Louise's subsequent words caused him to fall into a long silence.

"Exchange an item that can locate a corresponding Sequence 3 'Summoning Master' Sealed Artifact and a Blood Race Viscount Beyonder characteristic for a Sequence 4 Beyonder characteristic or Sealed Artifact from one of the God of Combat, Death, or Evernight pathways?"

Not only Nibbs, but even Duke Olmer, who had projected through the "Summoning Door," fell silent for a moment. However, just as Nibbs was hesitating about how to answer, Duke Olmer's voice echoed in the underground hall.

"I can agree to this transaction. I have a Sequence 4 'Undying' Beyonder characteristic that can be used for exchange."

"But I need to see the item that can locate the corresponding Sequence 3 'Summoning Master' Sealed Artifact first, and confirm its authenticity before proceeding with the transaction."

Louise looked around in surprise, trying to find the source of the voice but found nothing. Seeing that Lord Nibbs had no intention of explaining and did not object, she had no choice but to suppress the doubts in her heart and silently remember this passage.

"Sequence 4 'Undying,' this sounds like the name of that Death pathway. I've learned another name of a high-sequence potion."

Louise thought excitedly to herself, already impatient to return to her residence and pray to the Lord of Order to convey the results of this evening to Mr. Blessed.

The stone door opened, and Nibbs's low voice, slightly tinged with surprise, came out: "Louise, you can go back."

After the underground hall returned to silence, Nibbs's voice sounded again, but with a hint of doubt: "Duke?"

Duke Olmer's rich voice came from the doorway, slowly disappearing as the doorway dissolved:

"I sense a gaze, but I cannot find the source. The transaction proceeds as planned. I will be visiting Backlund soon..."

-----------------

The capital of the Rorsted Archipelago, the "City of Generosity," Bayam.

This place is also known as the Spice Archipelago, having various strange spices, with plantations in this area as the economic pillar.

Among them, Blue Mountain Island, where Bayam is located, accounts for more than half of the archipelago's land area, has mineral deposits of gold, silver, copper, coal, iron, etc., a high forest coverage rate, a wide variety of fruits, and extremely fertile land.

Because of this, the first colonists named the city they built by the sea the "City of Generosity," believing it to be a treasure land flowing with milk and mead promised by the gods.

Dunn Smith scratched his nose and breathed in the refreshing sea breeze before the rain fell. Ferris Eddas, standing beside him, glanced at a certain hunter and said in a low voice:

"Your wig is about to fall off. If you're recognized here, even if you get killed, I won't avenge you."

Bayam is a stronghold of the Loen Kingdom's colonial rule in the Mid-Sonia Sea, one of the largest cities in this area, with a considerable number of powerful official Beyonders.

No matter how arrogant a pirate is, they dare not show their face openly here. Most of the time, they have to rely on local gangs or people with deep backgrounds to handle stolen goods and purchase necessities. Even when going out, they disguise themselves to avoid being recognized.

Dunn Smith was choked for a moment, grunted unhappily, adjusted his wig, glared at Ferris Eddas, who had just become a Sequence 7 "Navigator," and extended his right hand, saying, "Pay up."

Dunn Smith was also very upset because the captain had only approved his vacation due to his merit in searching for that huge key last time. He had just wanted to head straight to Bayam and revisit the warmth of the "Red Theater" here.

Who knew that as soon as the captain heard he was coming to Bayam, he sent Ferris along as well, ostensibly to learn about the "Golden Dream"'s contact points in Bayam.

Ferris's expression remained unchanged. He slapped away Dunn Smith's hand, which was already in front of him, glanced at Dunn Smith, who was blowing his beard and glaring, and replied calmly:

"Isn't the repayment deadline not here yet? I will definitely repay you before the deadline. Complete the task assigned by the captain first, and then you can truly enjoy your vacation."

His mission in Bayam was not just to learn about the "Golden Dream"'s contact points in Bayam. More importantly, it was to spread information and pretend that they had not found that treasure and were still searching for it.

This was to buy time for the captain to study that huge black iron key and also to mislead other interested pirate admirals, relieving pressure on the captain.

Originally, this mission was quite difficult to complete. "Admiral of Blood" Senor, who was extremely interested in this treasure, had been searching for the "Golden Dream" near the safe channels of the Raging Sea with his flagship, the "Tree of Flesh."

However, in the past week, "Admiral of Blood" Senor and his flagship, the "Tree of Flesh," suddenly sailed away from the Raging Sea and headed towards the waters near Toskat Island, which borders the Sonia Sea. It is rumored to be related to the "Rose School of Thought" behind Senor.

After this news was confirmed by Edwina Edwards, several stronger and more trusted Beyonders on the "Golden Dream" paired up and went to the vast sea area from the Desi Bay to the Rorsted Archipelago, avoiding Senor and his fleet, to carry out the captain's plan, and would rendezvous at the designated location a week later.

#137Chapter 137 Sea God Kalvetuwa (Two in One)

Following Danitz's footsteps, Ferran arrived at an inconspicuous room near the harbor.

Danitz knocked heavily on the door, and after a moment, a hunched old man reeking of alcohol and slightly drunk opened it, holding a local "Bayam Blackland" in his hand.

Seeing this, Danitz cleared his throat, stepped forward, and whispered angrily to the old man:

"What are you doing? I sent you a telegram yesterday saying I was bringing a new crew member to check out the contact point today. This drunken state of yours is completely ruining the reputation of my Blazing Danitz, you know?"

He then turned awkwardly to look at Ferran behind him and explained:

"This is one of our contact people for the 'Golden Dream' in the Rosed Islands, Old Lynn."

"Uh, he likes to drink, but he's very capable and has never affected the transmission of messages. You can rest assured about that."

Ferran's mouth twitched, but he said nothing and followed Danitz inside.

After listening to Old Lynn's somewhat slurred introduction, Danitz cleared his throat and looked at Ferran Eddas, who was dressed like a native, saying:

"What I just introduced to you is our usual method of information contact. Get familiar with it, and I'll take you through it once when we have a chance."

"Hmm, to complete the Captain's mission faster and better, I've thought of a way."

Before Ferran could ask, Danitz chuckled slyly and lowered his voice:

"I plan to take you to visit the local forces. Spreading information through them is much faster and safer than doing it ourselves."

"Maybe we can find some good stuff there, ho ho, they have a significant demand for Beyonder materials, food, and weapons."

"What local forces?" Ferran Eddas asked with some confusion, while muttering to himself: "They're actually buying Beyonder materials, food, and weapons?"

Ferran, who had mainly been studying Beyonder knowledge on the Golden Dream, knew nothing about the forces or history of Bayam, and was momentarily surprised that any force would dare to buy contraband here.

Danitz looked Ferran Eddas up and down a few times, seeing the confusion on the new crew member's face, and chuckled with rare psychological advantage:

"It's the resistance army that's shouting for independence and local people managing local affairs."

"Their base camp is deep in the jungle, and on the sea, they cooperate with many pirates and adventurers."

"Of course, they are mainly supported by the Feysac people and Intis people. Missionaries of the 'God of War' and the 'Eternal Blazing Sun' often sneak over here."

Ferran Eddas immediately understood a little. Having been at sea for so long, he had some understanding of the secret struggles and various tricks between the major churches.

He then nodded slightly, not objecting to visiting that local force.

After reaching an agreement, the two left the contact point. Ferran, led by Danitz, who had blackened his face, walked through streets and alleys, heading southeast all the way.

After leaving the earliest area of the "City of Generosity," they entered a zone with distinct architectural styles. Here, there were houses supported by wooden piles with open ground floors, and three or four-story buildings side by side that had evolved from Loen-style small buildings.

The roads they separated were narrow and dirty, with a large number of stalls on both sides selling various headwear, earrings, and hand ornaments made of stone, among which the most numerous were bright red and colorful.

"They're a bunch of guys with strange aesthetics, they like particularly bright colors, just like the venomous snakes in the jungle," Danitz muttered softly.

Passing by natives with darker skin, thin and withered, and walking through alleys with clothes drying overhead, their view suddenly opened up, revealing a not-too-large square.

In the square, a group of locals surrounded the central pool, some kneeling, some prostrating, some muttering to themselves, and some singing softly, their expressions devout but numb.

As soon as they sensed someone approaching, they suddenly stood up and rushed into the surrounding alleys in a panic.

All the windows on the second, third, and fourth floors of the surrounding houses slammed shut one by one. The square became quite quiet, but Ferran's spiritual intuition told him that many people were watching the strangers who had suddenly entered this area from behind the windows, at the corners of the alleys, and in dark corners.

Danitz lowered his head and said in a low voice:

"Don't worry about it, it's their self-protection."

"Hmm?" Ferran expressed his confusion.

Danitz chuckled:

"Before being completely colonized, the natives of the Rosed Islands had always believed in 'Sea God' Kalvetua, believing that this deity, who often appeared in the form of a giant sea serpent, protected all the islands here from being swallowed by earthquakes and tsunamis."

"Now, this belief has been officially banned, and the Church of the Storms has been cracking down on heretics. Even the Church of Evernight and the Church of Steam cannot expand their influence here, with only a few churches."

"But in reality, it's not that easy to eliminate a belief that has existed for hundreds or thousands of years. In Bayam, Blue Mountain Island, and the Rosed Sea area, there are still many followers of the 'Sea God'."

"Even if a group of people are arrested and subjected to various extreme punishments every one or two months, it is impossible to reverse this situation in a short period of time. The main pillars of those resistance forces are the followers of the 'Sea God'."

"Sea God" Kalvetua... the image is a giant sea serpent...

Ferran listened thoughtfully, secretly guessing that the Sea God was a high-sequence powerhouse of the Sailor pathway. He followed Danitz without stopping and entered a four-story house on the front right, walking up the narrow stairs to the top floor.

Danitz turned back and warned: "The people here are a bit abnormal. Don't say anything later, I'll handle them."

Ferran looked at the hunter suspiciously, and reluctantly nodded under Danitz's glare.

Thump thump thump! Danitz knocked on the door on his left.

"Who is it?" a low voice asked from inside.

Danitz chuckled and replied:

"Friends who brought good wine and roasted meat."

"Where?" The person inside asked a strange question.

Danitz took a step back and said:

"On the sea."

Creak, the door slowly opened, and Ferran saw a shirtless man standing behind the door, with a ferocious blue-green sea serpent tattooed on his arm.

Ferran was about to look away, but the man's thick eyebrows and cold-blooded animal-like eyes almost made him frown. A faint sense of danger emerged in his heart.

At least a Beyonder, and he has killed many people...

Ferran made a rough judgment based on his spiritual intuition, but he didn't say anything and followed behind Danitz into the room.

"Edmonton, who is it?" a mellow voice came from the window seat.

The tattooed man said as he closed the door: "They are disguised."

Upon entering the door, there was a living room, which was not large and already felt cramped with only a cabinet, a table, and a few chairs.

The person who had just spoken was a man in his forties sitting in an iron wheelchair, with a blanket on his knees and wearing a jacket.

He had a shaved head, greenish whiskers on both sides of his face, and deep brown eyes with restrained emotions, seemingly without fluctuation.

He glanced at the visitors and slowly smiled: "Blazing, long time no see."

Danitz was stunned for a moment, and forced a smile: "Kalvet, your eyesight is really good."

At the same time, he secretly decided that after completing this mission and returning, he would definitely learn more about makeup and disguise techniques from the Captain.

"What are you doing here? I remember the rumors said you were looking for treasure?"

Kalvet didn't dwell on the previous topic, and Edmonton returned to stand behind Kalvet.

Danitz and Ferran exchanged glances, then cleared their throats and said:

"The Captain took us searching in the western part of the Furious Sea for a long time, but there were no clues."

"So we came to Bayam to see if there were any other clues, and to see if you have any good stuff here."

Kalvet listened quietly, his eyes narrowed slightly, and then he pointed to the table:

"Old rules, the things you want are all on it, and I can also buy the materials and items you sell."

There were many oddly shaped items on the table, including whistles made of bone, simple and crude bagpipes, iron-black leaves, and blood-stained stones.

And to the right of that pile of items was a short sword made of slender bone, slightly longer than a forearm, milky white all over, with several dark red deep patterns.

Ferran's gaze remained on this short sword. He always had a strange feeling, as if this short sword was attracting him.

But his studies on the "Golden Dream" and the Captain's teachings made him resist the urge to use "Spirit Vision," fearing to see something he shouldn't.

Noticing Ferran's gaze, Kalvet and Edmonton exchanged glances and spoke with a smile:

"This bone sword can drain the enemy's blood, it's not bad. Do you want it?"

Ferran's eyebrows twitched slightly, but he didn't speak, shaking his head in silence, and withdrew his gaze to look at other items.

A hint of disappointment flashed in Kalvet's eyes, but he didn't press further and bought a Beyonder material from Danitz for 60 pounds.

Danitz didn't notice this, happily accepted the 60 pounds, and was eager to go to the Red Theater, so he pulled Ferran away.

Seeing the two leave, Kalvet raised his hand to stop Edmonton, who was about to say something, and said in a low voice:

"He hasn't been chosen by the god. Prepare another sacrifice. The god's response has been getting more and more vague recently...."

-----------------

The Fog Sea, a hidden island near the headquarters of the "Moses Ascetic Order".

A tall building made of red bricks stood quietly. The exterior of the building was very ordinary, without any mysterious elements, and instead looked like a common museum or library.

In the center of the building stood three men and one woman. The lady in the middle had simple tied-up black hair and a pair of very distinctive blue-gray eyes. Her appearance was the kind that was more attractive the more you looked at it, and she became more charming the more you saw her.

However, she was wearing a men's shirt, paired with a tea-colored thick jacket, and a round-brimmed hat with a sunken top was placed beside her hand. She was the famous archaeologist and adventurer, Latitia Dorilla.

This was a common adventurer's attire at sea, and the three men standing beside her were also dressed similarly, with obvious signs of sun and rain exposure.

Before the four of them, a phantom figure completely condensed from starlight, whose gender could not be seen clearly, gradually appeared, and a ethereal voice echoed.

"The great 'Pillar of Star and Moon' has glimpsed a trace of the secrets of fate and has sent me to issue you a mission. There is an ancient elven ruin in the primitive jungle of Ximim Island in the Rosed Islands."

"You need to secretly infiltrate, open that ancient elven ruin with this key, and bring out the 'Book of Calamity' from it."

As the voice drifted, dots of starlight condensed, forming a brilliant key inscribed with complex and strange patterns. In just an instant, this key merged into Latitia Dorilla's arm, transforming into a key-shaped symbol.

"With this, you can gain the help of the Pillar of Star and Moon. By completing this mission, you will receive all the contribution needed to advance to Sequence 6 'Scroll Professor'."

"Beware of the false god Kalvetua and its followers...."

Upon hearing that she was going to the Rosed Islands, Latitia's heart couldn't help but feel apprehensive. As a member of the Moses Ascetic Order, she was well aware that there was a Sea King of the Church of the Storms there.

That was a demigod existence, just like the Pillar of Star and Moon, which was quite high among the ten pillars of the Moses Ascetic Order that issued this mission, not to mention a "false god."

Moreover, to go there, she had to cross half of the Fog Sea and the entire Furious Sea, which would take at least several months. But looking at the pattern on her arm and the promise of the phantom figure in front of her, Latitia's mouth felt a little bitter, but she still nodded in silence.

Friday night, Backlund Queen's Borough, East Tacks Family Villa.

"King George III is summoning me at 3 PM on Saturday? Looks like I need to hurry."

Aaron opened the long-awaited official summons, glanced at the contents, muttered to himself, and then tossed it aside.

Thinking that he would be trading with the vampires tomorrow, Aaron felt that he needed to make some preparations in advance. After telling the butler that he would be resting early and not to be disturbed, Aaron went to the adjoining room and skillfully arranged the ritual.

Passing through layers of dark golden mist, Aaron sat on the throne. With a slight movement of his mind, he absorbed the Black Emperor card into his body. The vast dark golden mist seemed to gather into waves and strong winds.

A majestic armor formed on Aaron's body, a black crown appeared on his head, and a long cape of the same color was behind him. Lines containing divinity also appeared on the armor.

Holding the "Scepter of the Sun" from the Heap of debris in his hand, Aaron frantically poured his spirituality into it. As the dark golden mist expanded, golden threads, as if condensed from pure light, appeared from the top of the scepter.

They wrapped around the puppet's incomplete right hand and several Beyonder characteristics. After putting these items into several boxes, he felt the strength of the seal he had just applied. Since the sealed items were of a higher rank, the seal would only last for two or three days at most.

"But this time is enough, as long as the seal doesn't fail before Louise completes the transaction." Aaron nodded with satisfaction. With a slight movement of his spirituality, the dark golden mist surged and transformed into a phantom figure with twelve wings on its back, which suddenly enveloped those items.

After using the angel phantom to erase the traces and ensure that the items could not be traced, Aaron threw them into the Heap of debris , planning to give them to Louise through the Door of Sacrifice and Bestowal after the Chaos Assembly ended.

He pressed his finger on the "Scepter of the Sun". Along with the gushing blood, the negative effects of the "Scepter of the Sun" gradually faded.

Feeling that the time was almost right, Aaron put the calmed "Scepter of the Sun" back into the Heap of debris , and his figure disappeared from the throne. He leaned back in the high-backed chair below, raised his finger slightly, and several figures immediately appeared below.

#138Chapter 138 Trading and Preparation (Two in One)

As the dark golden light faded, Frank, seated on the stone chair, looked around curiously, observing the shadowy figures shrouded in mist.

Sharon's azure eyes looked at the tall new member beside her, who gave her an unusually familiar feeling. Suppressing her curiosity, she remained silent, secretly guessing his identity.

The others had similar thoughts. The atmosphere was a bit heavy for a moment. Aaron broke the silence at the right time, turning to Louise and speaking:

"I have agreed to the terms proposed by the Blood Race, but the transaction with them must begin as soon as possible."

"I have prepared all the items. After this meeting concludes, I will request our Lord to transmit the items to you through the Door of Sacrifice and Bestowment."

"All items have been sealed and will not harm you. The only requirement is speed. I need to receive the exchanged items tonight, or tomorrow morning at the latest."

Louise was taken aback, the smile that had just appeared on her face freezing instantly: "Tonight?"

While the Blood Race doesn't require much sleep, it doesn't mean they don't need it at all. Visiting Marquess Nipes Audra at this hour...

Louise pondered for a moment, gritted her teeth, and nodded in agreement.

Since the transaction between Aaron and Louise was conveyed through visions obtained from prayers and similar methods, and only the exchange of magical items that enhance spirituality was mentioned in previous Chaos Council meetings, the other members immediately had their own guesses.

Seeing that someone had started speaking, Frank no longer remained silent. He scratched his hair and said with a chuckle:

"Hello everyone, it's an honor to participate in this gathering. I would like to purchase the potion formula for Sequence 6 'Biologist'. I am willing to pay two thousand pounds for it."

"Additionally, I would like to purchase some flesh and blood of a Rose Bishop. Some of my experiments require it. Friends, believe me, this is crucial. If I have this flesh and blood, I believe my experiments can definitely progress further."

Frank's eyes lit up, and he continued with an excited tone:

"I don't need too much of the Rose Bishop's flesh and blood, a dozen grams will suffice, but I need it to be as fresh as possible."

"Hmm, it's difficult to assess the value of that, but I have some unique potions with special effects. If you are willing, I can exchange them for it."

As soon as she heard this familiar voice, the name "Frank Lee" appeared in Sharon's mind. The more she listened, the more certain Sharon became.

She then looked at Frank with a slightly strange expression, unable to help but recall Frank's crazy experiments aboard the 'Future'.

The other members, who were unaware of Frank's frightening aspects, weren't focused on this. What drew their attention more was the Sequence information.

"A Sequence 6 'Biologist'? Could he be from the Church of the Mother Goddess?"

Louise instantly snapped back to attention, observing Frank with a slight frown. Through the dark golden mist, she could vaguely make out the distinct pirate attire the other party was wearing. She then dismissed her previous guess and spoke:

"I can exchange the formula with you, but you might need to wait for a while. I know where the formula is. After I obtain it, I will transfer it to you through a ritual."

Frank was immediately overjoyed. Although he didn't get the Rose Bishop's flesh and blood, having a definite lead on the next Sequence formula was already quite satisfying for him.

Chek Wald and Ferren Eddas, who had recently advanced to Sequence 7, showed no inclination to propose a transaction. They observed silently, thinking about their own matters.

Syd Watson was surprised by the addition of another Sequence 7 member, and also worried about his own Sequence progress.

It might have been due to the previous incident involving the Rose School or some other events, but Backlund Port was under martial law again, and the underground trading market had temporarily shut down.

This caused Syd, despite having obtained the potion formula for Sequence 7 "Spirit Medium" from Sharon during this time, to still be missing a main ingredient - the eyes of a Nether Wolf.

Feeling that his strength might be at the bottom, and despite his recent financial constraints, Syd gritted his teeth and stated his price:

"Eyes of a Nether Wolf, 600 pounds."

The transaction was quickly reached. Syd finally purchased the main ingredient from Chek for 650 pounds.

Seeing that both parties had reached a deal, Aaron recalled the Sequence 5 "Gatekeeper" Beyonder characteristic he had obtained from Amon's mausoleum. His gaze shifted slightly, but he temporarily suppressed the thought in his mind.

Seeing that no one else was proposing a transaction, Ferren, who had been silent, spoke up, starting the exchange session:

"I met the local resistance forces in Payaam on the Rosed Islands. They worship a false god named Kavitua, whom they call the Sea God."

"Sea God?" Louise, who had always been very interested in maritime news, immediately responded, "Could that be the name of a high-Sequence potion?"

"Kavitua? That sea serpent isn't in a good state. It's almost at the end of its rope..."

"Speaking of which, there might be a chance to retrieve that Book of Calamity..."

Thinking this, Aaron spoke, interrupting the somewhat lively discussion atmosphere below.

"Kavitua's true form is a giant greenish-blue sea serpent. It became the belief of the Rosed Island natives only after devouring the Beyonder characteristics of a high-level ancient elf."

As he spoke, he looked at Ferren, who had elven blood, and added with a smile:

"However, after being colonized by Loen, Kavitua was injured by Arjen Courtenay, the Archbishop of the Rosed Sea region from the Church of the Lord of Storms, and has been barely surviving ever since."

"Sea God is just a title. His true corresponding Sequence name is Sequence 3 'Sea King'. That Arjen Courtenay is at this rank."

Everyone was slightly startled, and also excited to learn the name of a new high-Sequence potion. For a moment, no one spoke again.

Seeing that it was about time, Aaron took the initiative to end the gathering.

...

The dark golden mist before her eyes dispersed, and Louise had returned to the real world. She immediately got up quickly and skillfully set up a Wall of Spirituality in her bedroom.

Louise picked up various spiritual materials, set up the Sacrifice and Bestowment ritual, and softly chanted the honorific name of the Lord of Order.

Aaron, who had returned to his throne, slightly raised his finger. Several boxes instantly flew up from the pile of miscellaneous items and rushed into the dark golden double doors formed by the convergence of prayer light points below the platform.

After letting out a sigh of relief, Louise carefully put away the several boxes that appeared in the center of the ritual and meticulously erased all traces of the ritual.

A dense black mist spread from behind her, forming a pair of illusory bat wings. This was Louise's condensed Wings of Darkness, which granted her the ability to fly for a short period. With her Sequence 6 strength, it was enough to fly to the Audra family villa in the West District.

To enhance her safety, Louise took out a bottle of silver-white potion and drank it. This was a special potion she had concocted after becoming a "Potion Professor". Under the moonlight, it could significantly conceal her whereabouts, preventing her from being discovered.

-----------------

Backlund West District, underground of the Audra family villa.

After Louise descended the stairs to the underground area, she found that it wasn't the route she took to meet Nipes Audra last time. She secretly touched the several boxes hidden in the seams of her clothes, finally unable to bear it any longer, and asked in a low voice:

"Baron Casimir, where are you taking me? I want to see Lord Nipes?"

Casimir, who looked like a middle-aged gentleman, turned his head and scrutinized Louise from head to toe. He then replied with a tone full of respect:

"Of course, I am taking you to see Duke Olmer."

"He just arrived in Backlund this afternoon. As soon as you came, He told me to bring you to see Him."

Duke Olmer... Louise instinctively straightened her back and cast her gaze towards the lamp holder on the nearby wall, seemingly trying to check her appearance in the reflection on the metal surface.

That was one of the three great dukes currently in charge of the Blood Race, titled "Full Moon", over three thousand years old, who had once followed the Progenitor Lilith, and was a symbol of the Blood Race's history and glory.

Louise's heart couldn't help but pound immediately. After all, that respected Duke was an Angel.

With such a nervous mood, passing through layers of secret doors, Louise and Casimir arrived inside an iron-gray hall.

The ground and walls here were covered with various strange plants, and everywhere exuded a vibrant vitality. This familiar scene instantly reminded Louise of the time she met Marquess Nipes for the second time, and she immediately had some guesses in her heart.

Casimir led Louise to a vibrant tomb in the depths of the hall and bowed respectfully:

"Your Grace, Louise Sears has arrived."

"Good evening, Your Grace." Louise was a little nervous, even somewhat flustered.

From within the tomb, a mellow voice whose age could not be discerned chuckled:

"A very outstanding young Blood Race."

"Casimir, you may leave now."

"Yes, Your Grace." Casimir bowed in response and left the iron-gray yet fresh and vibrant hall.

Louise stood in place, hearing the mellow voice from within the tomb say:

"You don't need to worry. This transaction will be witnessed by me personally."

Louise's heart skipped a beat. She cleared her throat and quickly took out all the boxes from her embrace, placing them on the strange plants whose branches extended towards her.

Before Louise could speak, red light flickered on several branches. The boxes instantly shattered, revealing several items wrapped in golden patterns inside.

Accompanied by a soft 'eh?' from within the tomb, Louise seemed to feel a surge of power. In just an instant, all the items disappeared.

Louise opened her mouth, her fingers raising and then falling, unsure of what to say. After a moment, just as she was feeling a bit anxious, the mellow voice from within the tomb spoke again:

"I have confirmed all the items. Tell that person to remember his promise."

Along with these words, two items appeared before Louise.

One of them was the "Crimson Eye" that Louise had seen before, which seemed to be condensed from rich blood, appearing like a miniature red moon.

The other item was a heart that seemed to still be beating, black in color overall, with a pure light flickering at its core. It was precisely the Beyonder characteristic corresponding to Sequence 4 'Undying'. The surface of the heart was covered with blood-colored patterns, without any aura leaking out, like a layer of seal.

Louise was stunned for a moment before she remembered that the promise the Duke mentioned referred to providing assistance when dealing with the sealed item corresponding to Sequence 3 'Summoning Master'.

After seeing the young Blood Race put away the two items, Duke Olmer's voice slowly sounded:

"Although the Blood Race is a long-lived species, there is still growth and aging, new life and death."

"Regardless, for a race, cultivating young members is a necessary task, and you have recently displayed outstanding talent and excellent abilities, becoming the object of our greatest attention."

"Therefore, I have come to meet you personally and give you some tests, so that you can grow as quickly as possible."

Without the slightest hesitation, Louise respectfully replied, "I am always ready."

Duke Olmer of the Blood Race let out an "Mm" and continued:

"Recently, Nipes will leave Backlund and head to the Southern Continent to search for the sealed item corresponding to 'Summoning Master'. You shall accompany him to gain experience..."

Backlund Queen's District, East Tacker family villa.

After handing over the exchanged items to Louise through the Door of Sacrifice and Bestowment, Aaron returned to the real world without paying attention to the subsequent transaction process.

Looking at the paper crane he had brought down from above the dark golden mist, Aaron's lips curved slightly. He used a pencil to write a sentence on the blank back of the paper crane:

"Please do your best to disrupt fate for me tomorrow."

St. George's District, in a certain room, on a bed covered with tarot cards, a little boy turned over, muttering:

"This guy really has no manners at all, bothering me while I'm sleeping at this hour."

Placing the paper crane aside, Aaron tossed and turned in bed. He didn't wait for Will Auceptin's dream, but instead received Louise's prayer.

Sitting on the throne, Aaron used his "True Sight" to observe Louise's surroundings through the prayer light points. After confirming that no one was secretly observing, he then looked at the two items placed on her altar.

Besides the "Crimson Eye" he had already seen, Aaron sensed a different aura on the 'Undying' Beyonder characteristic.

Aaron's lips curved slightly. He summoned the Black Emperor card and the Sunfall Scepter, casually condensed a light point, and responded to Louise's prayer.

A moment later, looking at the gradually forming Door of Sacrifice and Bestowment, Aaron raised the radiant Sunfall Scepter in his hand.

As soon as the 'Undying' Beyonder characteristic appeared above the dark golden mist, it was struck by a long spear that was extremely white, seemingly composed of pure sunlight.

It suddenly expanded into a miniature blazing sun, with wisps of red mist rising within it. However, it seemed to possess infinite vitality, constantly driving this power to regenerate.

The golden patterns on Aaron's body flickered slightly. The dark golden mist instantly boiled, and surges of invisible power emerged, seemingly interrupting the regeneration, finally wearing down this power.

At the same time, in an empty underground hall somewhere, a low sigh came from within a vibrant tomb...

Aaron took a breath, pressed his finger on the Sunfall Scepter, and after dispelling the negative effects, brought the black heart back to the real world from above the dark golden mist.

Without hesitation, after setting up the Wall of Spirituality, Aaron immediately began the ritual.

He lit the candle, burned the corresponding essential oils and herbal powders, took two steps back, and skillfully chanted the Goddess's honorific name in a low voice. Finally, he spoke respectfully:

"I sacrifice this 'Undying' Beyonder characteristic to You, wishing to receive Your grace."

Chapter 139: An Audience with George III (Two in One)

Aaron then mentioned that he was to be summoned by George III tomorrow, as well as the Blood Emperor's ruins hidden beneath Williams Street and the Red Angel evil spirit residing within.

Aaron did not make a direct request, merely stating the facts. This was equivalent to an exchange of equal value, rather than offering items and praying for a bestowal.

Other aspects of the ritual didn't need to be too detailed, but Aaron, as a Blessed of the Night, felt that this fundamental issue of attitude required attention.

As Aaron finished speaking, two of the three candle flames suddenly expanded and intertwined, forming an illusory and dim mysterious door.

The door slowly opened, bringing with it a strong, invisible wind.

They swept up the 'Undying' Beyonder characteristic, causing it to pass through the gap in the illusory door and disappear into a scene resembling an endless starry sky.

Immediately after, a flash of light occurred, and a wave of pure darkness, carrying a power of silence and peace, enveloped Aaron like a tide.

At the same time, tiny points of light lit up, deep and brilliant, piercing through the barrier and quickly outlining a medal, which fell onto the altar without a sound.

The medal was crystal clear throughout, as if cast from black gems, giving one the feeling that it was truly there when looked at, but would disappear when not.

Submerged in that atmosphere of silence and peace, Aaron reached out and picked up the medal, and streams of information immediately surfaced in his mind.

"Ariana's Emblem of Night..."

"It possesses no characteristics or power itself; its sole function is that once activated, it will establish contact with 'Servant of Concealment' Ariana, no matter where you are in the real world."

"If more direct assistance is needed, say the name 'Ariana' in Ancient Hermes while activating it."

"Ariana, Head of the Thirteen Archbishops of the Church of the Night, Head of the Abbey of Night, a Sequence 2 Angel."

Aaron instantly grasped the essence of the Emblem of Night:

"Hmm, this is equivalent to a solidified altar and ritual directed at itself, capable of responding to prayers worldwide through the Angel's status."

Feeling slightly relieved, Aaron put away the Emblem of Night, faced the altar, and bowed sincerely, saying:

"Thank you for your bestowal."

After speaking, he tapped his chest four times clockwise, drawing the Crimson Moon:

"Praise the Goddess!"

Aaron had always been wary of Adam, who was vaguely present behind the Red Angel, and was also unwilling to let his ancestor Varna, who was on the same 'Red Priest' pathway as the Red Angel evil spirit, get involved.

He was worried about causing unpredictable anomalies. Now that Aaron was about to leave Backlund, to ensure there were no slip-ups with the Red Angel, Aaron decided to deal with 'Him' as soon as possible. Whether it was killing or sealing, it could no longer be delayed.

And in the face of potential accidents, the intervention of 'Servant of Concealment' Ariana, who in a sense could symbolize the attitude of the Goddess of the Night, could minimize this risk to the greatest extent.

For the sake of present benefits and future plans, after much consideration, Aaron still endured the heartache and sacrificed the 'Undying' Beyonder characteristic.

With the addition of this 'Servant of Concealment', even if ancestor Varna did not make a move, he could still borrow one move from Will Auceptin to explore the Blood Emperor's ruins containing the Red Angel evil spirit together.

"It's just that the final profit will probably be split by more than half..." Thinking of this, Aaron sighed, ended the ritual, tidied up the altar, and returned to his bedroom.

After lunch, on the road to Backlund's Sordak Palace, Aaron was not wearing his luxurious formal attire, but a military uniform, sitting upright in a lavish carriage bearing the East Chester emblem.

Through the wide, bright carriage window, one could see the layers of magnificent palaces and towering Gothic bell towers in the distance without even needing to lift one's head.

That was the highest point in all of Backlund, and where the Loen royal family resided.

Its status on the North and South Continents, and in the entire world, was equivalent to or even slightly higher than Intis's White Maple Palace and the Feysac Empire's Olmir Palace, but its name was neither romantic nor ancient.

It was called Sordak Palace, which meant "balance" in Ancient Feysac.

Withdrawing his gaze from outside the carriage window, Aaron's lips curled slightly as he tossed the gold silk brocade in his hand onto the table.

"Not only was I directly promoted from Major to Colonel exceptionally, but they even gave me this Deputy Director position... Hmph, how generous."

Even though it was a good thing for him, Aaron felt a hint of mockery in his heart. As someone who would inevitably inherit the title of Duke of East Chester in the future, there was no need to add another title, only to increase his military rank.

Just yesterday, along with the document from George III, came the conferment of honors upon Aaron.

Aaron was promoted to the rank of Colonel and concurrently served as the Deputy Director of MI9 in the Loen Kingdom's colonial area of the Pas River Valley on the South Continent.

That region directly bordered Intis's colonial area on the South Continent, and was a complex mix of forces including the Resistance, the Rose School, the Spirit Lodge, and various major Churches.

Due to historical issues and conflicts between the Churches, small-scale wars frequently occurred in this region, even though neither side acknowledged them.

Despite the various drawbacks of this region, its distance from the East Chester family's colony on the South Continent was not far, and it could be considered a core area for Aaron's future clandestine expansion. Therefore, it was one of the three locations Aaron initially submitted.

The other two locations were Irusyl, the capital of East Chester County, and Bayam, the capital of the Rosedale Islands.

Perhaps it was because they didn't want Aaron to be out of their control in East Chester County, and even less did they want Aaron, who was so close to the Church of the Night, to re-establish ties with the Church of Storms in Bayam. Therefore, he was ultimately assigned to the South Continent.

Although he had already learned of his rewards, he still needed to attend the conferment ceremony.

This afternoon, after His Majesty George III finished handling state affairs, 'He' would take an hour out of 'His' 'busy schedule' to receive him and several other individuals who had made distinguished contributions in Loen and other colonies.

Although Aaron didn't think it would be the real George III summoning him, it was more likely the George III conjured by Adam.

However, out of reverence for an Angel, especially without understanding the other party's methods and true intentions, Aaron was extremely vigilant and used every means available.

As the future heir of the East Chester family, he inherently carried original sin and was bound to attract the attention of George III.

Given that he was also linked to the corresponding Uniqueness of the Arbiter pathway, the 'Nation of Disorder', Aaron had already planned to divert attention and leave Backlund reasonably as early as when he decided to intervene in the Capim case.

...

Outside Backlund's Sordak Palace.

As Aaron stepped out of the carriage, he saw many familiar nobles and parliament members.

The mere bestowal of rewards didn't necessitate the presence of these nobles and parliament members, but the news that Lord Aaron, a prominent figure in Backlund, had been promoted to Colonel and was leaving Backlund for the South Continent still made many of them restless.

Especially at the critical moment when the "Proposal on the Establishment of the Kingdom's Air Pollution Investigation Committee" had just begun discussion in the Parliament.

However, not everyone was worried about the uncertain future of the Kingdom's Air Pollution Investigation Committee.

Audrey walked over slowly, complex emotions swirling in her emerald eyes – reluctance, pride, and worry.

She wore a fitted pale white long dress, her upper body tightly bound, her waist cinched extremely thin, and the multi-layered cake-like cut was perfectly supported by whalebone stays.

Her golden hair was elegantly styled in an updo, her earrings and rings sparkled brightly, she wore the emerald necklace Aaron had given her on her fair, delicate neck, and on her feet were white dancing shoes inlaid with roses and diamonds.

Aaron instantly felt a wave of familiarity wash over him. With just a little thought, he remembered that this outfit was exactly what Audrey was wearing when they first met.

Meeting Audrey's gaze, Aaron smiled, took Audrey's slender and delicate little hand. Audrey lowered her head so her expression couldn't be seen, but she didn't resist.

Aaron then glanced at the somewhat anxious-faced nobles and parliament members around them. Seeing this, Count Hall, who was not far away, immediately gave a light cough and stopped the other nobles who wanted to approach.

Aaron nodded gratefully to Count Hall and led Audrey towards Sordak Palace in the distance.

"Aaron, are you really going to the South Continent?"

"My second brother Alfred is also on the South Continent. His letters to me never mention the dangers there, but I have already learned from Father what the real South Continent is like."

Having moved away from the crowd behind them, Audrey finally raised her face, which still held a hint of redness, and said with some worry.

Aaron stopped walking and looked at the girl beside him, at her flawless skin and her small, bright red earlobe. His heart stirred, and as if possessed, he lowered his head, his lips lightly brushing Audrey's left ear as he whispered:

"I promise you, I will definitely take good care of myself."

Feeling the warm breath on her left ear, Audrey's mind went blank for a moment, and then an unspeakable feeling surged over her, instantly turning her face red all the way to her ears.

"Ah, this, what should I do?"

"Audrey, pull yourself together quickly! You have to say something..."

Audrey thought to herself, feeling somewhat flustered, suddenly missing Susie terribly, but she couldn't utter a single word.

Finally, she only managed to say "Okay", and then somewhat flustered, she withdrew her hand, lifted her skirt slightly in a manner not entirely befitting aristocratic etiquette, and hurried towards the side hall of Sordak Palace not far away – the resting place specifically prepared for the noble ladies attending the conferment ceremony.

Aaron's lips curved slightly. He looked at Audrey, then turned and walked towards the main entrance of Sordak Palace, standing with the other honorees. Among them was an acquaintance of Aaron's - Glenn Wall.

After exchanging smiles and nods, everyone waited in silence until a servant arranged by the Count of the Palace brought a notification:

"Please, esteemed sirs, adjust yourselves quickly, and then follow me to the Grand Council Hall to await His Majesty's arrival."

Aaron nodded slightly with a poker face, tidied his clothes briefly, and his spirituality stirred. The Night mark on his arm seemed to resonate with the power from last night, and some subtle abnormalities felt as if they were gently smoothed away.

Feeling the changes within him, Aaron was the first to pass through the ranks of the solemn and strict Royal Guards, and accompanied by stirring music, walked into Sordak Palace.

George III wore a crown, his face was firm, and he sported a pair of old-fashioned small mustaches. He sat on the throne and glanced at the ten subjects, either in military uniform or formal attire, who were separated by the guards.

Finally, 'He' lingered on Aaron for two or three seconds inadvertently, a faint light seeming to flicker in 'His' eyes. After a brief scrutiny, 'He' shifted 'His' gaze.

"Welcome, my warriors..."

Without a loudspeaker, 'His' voice was not particularly loud, but it was very magnetic and full of vigor. Coupled with 'His' deliberate restraint, it sounded even deeper and more powerful.

"Gentlemen, you are all heroes who have expanded the kingdom's territory, my most proud warriors... I am sincerely proud of you."

Listening to this set of brainwashing rhetoric, Aaron curled his lips in disdain inwardly.

Aaron rolled his eyes internally. Whether from the perspective of his family or the advancement of his pathway, he naturally had no good feelings towards George III or the Augustus family.

'He' had long ago marked George III as 'His' "prey", viewing 'Him' as someone destined to die, and felt no ripple from these words.

But the performance had to continue.

"Loyalty only to His Majesty the King!"

As if by instinct, everyone, including Aaron, stiffened their necks and strained to express their loyalty.

Compared to the deliberate performance of others, Aaron appeared nonchalant, even somewhat perfunctory.

As an unstable factor in George III's eyes, and the person involved who was kicked out of Backlund to the South Continent at the most crucial moment of the submitted proposal, it was a reasonable display to show a bit of resentment.

Receiving the Colonel's rank insignia and the official letter of appointment held by the attendant, Aaron merely bowed symbolically and then withdrew to the side. From beginning to end, he felt a gaze fixed upon him.

Upon first entering the hall, Aaron felt two pairs of highly oppressive gazes, but after only a moment, one of them disappeared.

Maintaining vigilance, Aaron continued his performance, displaying the resentment and helplessness he was supposed to show, until the ceremony concluded.

Backlund, inside a certain underground ruin.

This was a world ruled by darkness. The faint light came from strange moss growing in different places and the firelight reflected from inside human buildings.

With their illumination, even Beyonders without Night Vision could grasp the overall appearance of this vast ruin:

On one side was a grey stone cliff face, extending upwards endlessly, seemingly connected to the surface. On the other side was a dark, bottomless deep valley, like the abyssal dwelling of demons.

A stone-paved road ran through the middle, connecting halls and buildings, with humans passing by occasionally, quiet and silent.

On a peculiar metal base at the upper part of the cliff face, a faint blue light suddenly rose, forming a large door.

Four guards in deep black full armor immediately looked through the faint blue light to check the situation outside and prepared to use certain methods to confirm whether the person who activated the "Teleportation Gate" was disguised as someone else, thus deciding whether to open the "gate".

Through the light screen, the image of a kind old man appeared. It was the former Royal Advisor, a member of the Psychology Alchemists' Council, Herwin Rambis.

A figure flew out from the dark deep valley, heading straight for the "Teleportation Gate".

The figure had an oblong face, wore a white wig, had a pair of mustaches that curled slightly upwards at the ends, thick eyebrows, and large eyes, bearing a striking resemblance to the figures on playing cards.

He wore a formal suit, a greatcoat, and shoes with extremely long pointed toes. His attire was out of sync with the current era, as if he lived in the previous century. It was precisely Prince of Sonia, Grove Augustus, a Sequence 3 'Chaos Hunter' from the 'Arbiter' pathway.

#140Chapter 140 Adam (Two in One)

The four guards in deep black full body armor immediately looked solemn, opening the passage, and Hewin Lambeth walked out of the "Teleportation Gate" with a warm smile.

Looking at Prince Grove Augustus of Sonia, who had a stern and serious face opposite him, he spoke in a calm tone:

"I heard that the 'Black Saintess' of the Demoness Sect has also come to Backlund. The President's virtual personality is still at the Sodrac Palace, so he sent me here."
