“Before the reckoning of days and the weaving of stars, the Wheel turned upon the face of the deep, and by the casting of lots was dominion given to LUMAD, the First Maker, who raised the isles from the abyss and wrought the gods of sky, stone, dream, and sea. Yet the beginning is veiled in mist, and the end lieth beyond the sight of gods and men. As the gods strive and the people of the isles lift their songs, LUMAD resteth crowned upon the Dragon’s Beak, His dreams binding the world. But it is told that at the last turning of the Wheel, the First and the Last shall awaken, unmaking all, and shaping anew the worlds and gods yet to be.”

22. TALIMUN withdrew into the realm of shadows and dreams,


and from his breath were born strange beings that walked the mists.


"So be it, for dreams shall weave upon the world,


and not even the gods shall be free from their binding."


24. Then came AMINUG, god of stone and depths,


who raised the mountains and deepened the roots of the isles.


25. And AMINUG declared, "Let strength lie beneath all things,


lest they be swallowed again by the abyss."


26. LUMAD appointed AMINUG keeper of the earth's bones,


and gave him the barbed tail of the abyss to wield.


27. Thus the gods fashioned the isles and their realms:


AMINUG the stones and bones of the earth.
