Diana barely had time to react before the girls started pulling her toward the hallway, all of them speaking at once in excited whispers and teasing tones. She looked back over her shoulder toward Izuku, clearly confused but also slightly flustered by how quickly everything was happening. "Wait—what is going on?" she tried to ask, but her voice was swallowed up by the swarm of giggling classmates guiding her away.
Before she could fully disappear around the corner, Izuku suddenly stood up from the couch, realizing she was about to be dragged off without even being prepared. "Diana!" he called out quickly, raising his voice just enough to cut through the noise. The girls paused for a split second, turning their heads slightly while still holding onto her arms, giving him just enough time to speak.
"Make sure you dress for cold weather!" Izuku said a little awkwardly, scratching the back of his head as his face turned slightly red again. "I mean we will be going somewhere cold." His words came out a bit rushed, but the concern behind them was genuine, and Diana's expression softened as she processed what he said.
Diana blinked for a moment, then gave a small smile despite still being half-dragged down the hallway. "Cold weather… got it," she replied, her tone warm and slightly amused. The girls immediately erupted into excited whispers again, clearly enjoying every second of the interaction as they pulled her fully out of sight, leaving only her voice echoing faintly down the corridor.
The next hour felt strangely longer than any battle Izuku had ever fought. The boy who could hear distress calls from across the planet, fly faster than sound, and face down world-ending threats without fear was now sitting on the couch nervously waiting for a girl to finish getting ready. The other students found the sight absolutely hilarious, with several of the boys trying and failing to hold back their laughter whenever they saw the world's strongest hero checking the hallway every few seconds.
Finally, the sound of the girls returning could be heard, and every conversation in the common room slowly came to a stop. The boys looked over while the girls walked out with proud smiles on their faces, almost like they had completed some great mission. In the center of their group was Diana, and for a brief moment the entire room became completely silent as everyone took in how stunning she looked.
Diana had clearly put effort into her appearance, wearing a beautiful cold weather outfit that suited her perfectly. Her confidence, grace, and natural beauty made her seem almost unreal, and even the girls who had helped her get ready looked proud of their work. Izuku, who had faced monsters and villains without a hint of hesitation, suddenly forgot every word in his vocabulary as his face became bright red.
The silence continued for another few seconds before Kaminari grinned and broke it. "Wow, Diana, you look incredible." The other boys immediately joined in with their own compliments, and even Ida gave a respectful nod. "Indeed. Your outfit is very fitting for the weather conditions and you look very elegant," he said seriously, causing several students to laugh at his formal wording.
Izuku finally managed to regain control of himself and walked over to her. "You… you look amazing, Diana," he said softly, his usual confidence completely replaced with nervousness. Diana smiled warmly at his reaction, clearly happy that even someone like Superman could be left speechless because of her.
As the two walked toward the door together, Mina suddenly tilted her head and looked at Izuku's clothes. "Wait a minute. You told Diana to dress for the cold, but you're just wearing normal clothes. Aren't you going to freeze?" she asked, causing everyone else to look at him in realization.
Before Izuku could answer, Kirishima snapped his fingers as if he had just remembered something important. "Oh yeah. Isn't that because it doesn't affect him?" he said before looking around at everyone. "Guys, this is the same person who literally flew into outer space and was completely fine. The coldest place on Earth is probably like a nice breeze to him."
The room went quiet as everyone considered that statement, only to realize how absurdly normal they had become around Izuku's impossible abilities. "You know, I keep forgetting that our classmate can survive in the vacuum of space," Jiro said while shaking her head. "That's not something that should ever become normal."
Izuku simply rubbed the back of his neck with an embarrassed smile. "I guess I never really think about stuff like that," he admitted. "Cold just… doesn't really bother me."
The students followed them to the windows as Izuku and Diana stepped outside into the cool evening air. The moment the door closed behind them, the entire class pressed themselves against the glass, immediately turning the date into a spectator event. Even the teachers would have probably been surprised by how invested Class 1-A was in watching the world's greatest hero go on his first date.
Outside, Izuku turned toward Diana with a slightly nervous expression. "Before we leave, I should probably apologize," he said, causing her to look at him curiously.
"Apologize for what?" Diana asked.
"For this."
Before she could question him further, Izuku gently placed an arm around her waist and pulled her close to him. Diana's eyes widened in surprise, her face immediately turning red as she realized what he was about to do. The students watching from the windows practically exploded into silent excitement, with several of them covering their mouths to keep from shouting.
A second later, he launched into the sky carrying Diana with him. The students inside the dorm rushed from window to window, watching the two become smaller and smaller against the night sky until they disappeared among the clouds.
The world below them quickly became a sea of tiny lights as Izuku flew higher into the night sky. The cities, mountains, and oceans stretched out beneath them while the clouds formed a soft white blanket below their feet. Izuku slowed his speed once they reached just above the clouds, making sure Diana was comfortable as they glided peacefully through the cold air.
For a few moments neither of them said anything, simply enjoying the incredible view. The moonlight reflected off the clouds, making it seem as though they were floating through another world entirely. Izuku looked over at Diana and realized that, despite everything he knew about her and her incredible strength, he had never actually asked her one simple question.
"Wait," Izuku said, his expression becoming slightly embarrassed. "Can you fly?" he asked, suddenly realizing he had just assumed she needed him to carry her the entire way.
Diana looked at him for a second before letting out a small laugh. "Yes, Izuku. I can fly," she said with an amused smile. "Just not as fast as you can. Besides, I have never been this high above the Earth before, so I do not mind letting you carry me a little longer."
Izuku felt his face warm slightly at her words and smiled. Even after everything he had done as Superman, from saving people to traveling through space, it was still strange to him that someone could be impressed by something he considered normal. He loosened his nervousness and continued flying beside her as she slowly separated from him and floated on her own, staying close as they moved together through the sky.
Diana looked around in awe, taking in the endless horizon around them. The air was colder than any mountain peak, yet the beauty of the scene made her forget about the temperature entirely. After another moment she turned toward him with curiosity shining in her eyes.
"Where are you taking me, Izuku?" Diana asked softly. "You told me to prepare for the cold, and now we are flying above the clouds in the middle of the night. You clearly have something planned."
Izuku became quiet for a moment, his usual confident hero expression becoming softer and more thoughtful. The same look he had whenever he thought about the place that shaped him into who he was. He looked out toward the stars above them before turning back toward her with a gentle smile.
"You were open with me about where you came from," Izuku said. "You told me about Greece, your home, your history, and everything that made you who you are."
He looked upward toward the endless sea of stars, his bright blue eyes reflecting the light of distant worlds.
"So tonight," Izuku continued with a small smile, "I want to show you where I come from."
The two of them continued flying north, leaving behind the cities and forests as the landscape below gradually transformed into endless stretches of snow and ice. The further they traveled, the colder the air became, but neither of them seemed bothered by it. Diana found herself smiling as she kept pace beside Izuku, although she had to put noticeably more effort into matching his speed, silently reminding herself that he had been holding back the entire flight.
As they crossed into the Arctic Circle, something unexpected began to happen. The darkness of the night slowly gave way to a brilliant golden light on the horizon, illuminating the frozen wilderness below. The sky seemed to glow brighter with every passing second until, by the time they reached the North Pole, it looked almost as though it were the middle of the day instead of late at night. Diana looked around in amazement, never having witnessed the phenomenon before.
"This... is beautiful," Diana whispered, unable to take her eyes off the endless sea of shimmering ice reflecting the sunlight. "I have never seen anything like this before. It almost feels as though time itself has stopped here." Izuku smiled quietly, happy that she was enjoying the journey, before angling downward toward a massive plateau of solid ice that stretched for what seemed like miles in every direction.
The two landed gently atop the frozen plateau, the only sounds being the soft crunch of snow beneath their boots and the distant howl of the Arctic wind. Diana looked around, expecting to see some kind of hidden structure or landmark, but there was nothing except endless white in every direction. She turned back toward Izuku, curiosity written all over her face.
"Why did we land here?" Diana asked, tilting her head slightly as she scanned the frozen wasteland again. "There is nothing here but ice. I thought you said you were going to show me where you came from." Her voice carried genuine confusion, but there was also complete trust that Izuku had brought her here for a reason.
Izuku remained silent for several long moments. He took a slow, steady breath, trying to gather the courage to say something he had shared with very few people. Even after becoming heroe, admitting the truth about himself still made him nervous. Finally, he looked directly into Diana's eyes, his expression more vulnerable than she had ever seen before.
"Diana..." Izuku began quietly, his voice barely louder than the wind surrounding them. "Before I show you where I come from... there is something I have to tell you, you trusted me to keep the Themyscira a secret." He paused again, taking another deep breath before continuing. "I'm... an alien."
For a brief moment the world seemed to fall completely silent. The wind continued to blow across the frozen plateau, yet neither of them spoke another word. Diana simply stared into his bright blue eyes, searching for any sign that he might be joking, but all she found was complete sincerity.
Without breaking eye contact, Izuku slowly took several steps backward across the ice. He stopped a short distance away and waited, his heart beating faster than it had during any battle he had ever fought. He knew this moment would change everything, and he hoped that Diana would still see him as the same person afterward.
Then, without warning, the frozen plateau began to tremble beneath their feet.
A deep, resonating hum echoed through the Arctic as brilliant shafts of blue-white light erupted from cracks spreading across the ice. Massive crystalline structures began pushing upward from beneath the frozen surface, their transparent walls catching the sunlight and scattering countless rainbows across the snow. Tower after towering spire continued rising higher and higher, each one carved from impossibly perfect crystal that seemed to glow with an energy all its own.
Diana's eyes widened in complete disbelief as an enormous palace of crystal emerged from beneath the Arctic ice. Elegant arches, towering spires, and shimmering crystalline walls rose into the sky with almost supernatural grace until a magnificent fortress stood where only empty ice had existed moments before. The structure radiated both unimaginable age and breathtaking beauty, as though it had been waiting patiently beneath the ice for centuries for its rightful heir to return
For several moments, Diana simply stood there in complete silence as she stared at the towering crystal fortress before her. The sunlight reflected off the countless crystalline spires, causing the entire structure to shimmer like a giant diamond in the middle of the Arctic. It was unlike anything she had ever seen before, not even the ancient architecture of Themyscira could compare to the strange and beautiful palace that had risen from beneath the ice.
Izuku smiled softly at her reaction before turning and beginning to walk toward the fortress's massive entrance. "Come on," he said gently, his hands tucked into his pockets as he walked through the snow. "There's still a lot I want to show you." Diana quickly followed after him, occasionally glancing back at the enormous structure behind them, still trying to process the fact that the boy she had come here with was not even from Earth.
As the two approached the entrance, the massive crystal doors suddenly began to glow. A second later they slowly slid open, revealing a grand chamber filled with glowing crystals and advanced technology that looked centuries beyond anything found on Earth. Several silver and white robots immediately approached them, their eyes glowing blue as they stopped in front of Izuku.
"Welcome home, Kal-El," one of the robots said in a calm, mechanical voice. "The Fortress of Solitude has remained fully operational during your absence. It is good to see you again."
Diana blinked in surprise at hearing the name. She knew Izuku's real name, yet hearing him called by another name made the reality of his origins seem even more real. Before she could ask anything, the robots turned toward her and all lowered their heads respectfully.
"Princess Diana of Themyscira," another robot said politely. "The House of El thanks you once again for helping heal Kal-El during the incident on I-Island. Without your actions, his recovery would have been significantly delayed. You are considered a friend and honored guest of this Fortress."
Diana's eyes widened in surprise before she smiled politely. "I... thank you," she said, still not entirely sure how to react to being thanked by highly advanced alien machines.
Izuku chuckled softly at her expression before gesturing around the massive chamber. "I know it looks unbelievable, but I come from one of if not the most technologically advanced races in the universe. Kryptonians mastered science, medicine, energy, and space travel thousands of years before humanity even dreamed of those things. Almost everything you see here was built by my people."
Diana slowly looked around at the glowing displays and impossible machines surrounding them before turning back toward him. "If your people were this advanced," she asked quietly, "then why are you here? Why are you alone on Earth? How could a civilization this incredible simply disappear?"
Before Izuku could answer, another voice suddenly echoed through the chamber.
"Arrogance."
A beam of light appeared in the center of the room, slowly taking the shape of a man dressed in Kryptonian robes. He had dark hair, a noble face, and a symbol on his chest that resembled the one on Izuku's suit. Diana's eyes widened as she watched the figure become more solid, though she quickly realized that he was not truly there.
Izuku's expression softened immediately.
"Father," he said quietly.
The hologram smiled warmly at him before turning toward Diana. "Princess Diana, I am Jor-El of Krypton, father of Kal-El." He bowed his head respectfully before his expression became solemn. "To answer your question, Krypton did not fall because we lacked intelligence. It fell because we believed ourselves too great to fail."
Jor-El slowly clasped his hands behind his back as the Fortress dimmed slightly around them. "My people believed Krypton would last forever. We became arrogant and ignored the signs of our world's collapse. The planet itself was dying, yet our leaders dismissed every warning and every calculation. They thought our science had made us untouchable."
The hologram's expression became filled with sadness as he looked toward his son.
"But I saw the truth. I knew Krypton was doomed, and I refused to let my child die with it. So my wife, Lara, and I placed our infant son into a spacecraft and sent him across the stars." Jor-El looked toward Earth, though it was far beyond the fortress walls. "We sent him here because this world orbits a yellow sun, and under its light he would not merely survive... he would thrive."
Diana slowly looked back and forth between Izuku and the hologram of his father, her heart aching at the thought. The boy she knew as Izuku Midoriya, the smiling and sometimes awkward student at U.A., had been sent across the universe as the last hope of a dying world.
Jor-El smiled once more and looked proudly at his son. "And from what I have observed, my son has become exactly what we hoped he would become. A protector. A symbol of hope.
After that, Izuku spent the next hour giving Diana a tour of the Fortress of Solitude. They walked through enormous chambers filled with glowing crystals and ancient Kryptonian technology that hummed softly with energy. There were rooms dedicated to history, science, medicine, and even entire sections that contained holographic records of Krypton's culture and people. Diana found herself constantly stopping to look at one thing or another, amazed that an entire civilization could fit within a fortress hidden beneath the Arctic ice.
"This place is incredible," Diana said softly as she looked at a holographic display of Krypton's cities, where countless towers reached toward a crimson sky. "Your people truly were extraordinary. It feels like every room holds centuries of knowledge." Izuku smiled at her words, although there was also a hint of sadness in his expression. "Yeah," he said quietly. "Sometimes I forget that all of this is all that's left of my world."
As they continued their tour, they eventually came to a smaller chamber that was noticeably different from the others. Unlike the warm blue glow of the rest of the Fortress, this room was dimly lit and carried an almost eerie feeling to it. In the center of the room stood a strange device that looked almost like a futuristic gun resting on a pedestal, and behind it was a large circular structure embedded into the wall that appeared to be some kind of sealed doorway.
Diana looked between the two objects curiously. "This room feels different from the others," she said as she slowly approached the pedestal. "And that..." she pointed toward the strange device, "looks like some kind of weapon."
Before Izuku could answer, Jor-El's hologram appeared beside them once more. "It is a weapon, in a sense," he said calmly. "That device is the Phantom Zone Projector, and the structure behind it is the entrance to the Phantom Zone itself." Diana turned toward him in surprise. "The Phantom Zone?" she repeated, the name sounding strange even to her.
Jor-El nodded slowly and clasped his hands behind his back. "The Phantom Zone is a dimensional prison that exists outside of normal space and time. It was created to house Krypton's most dangerous criminals, those too powerful or too dangerous to be imprisoned by conventional means." His expression became thoughtful for a moment. "I created it myself many years ago."
Diana's eyes widened slightly. "You... created another dimension?" she asked, unable to hide her astonishment.
Jor-El gave a small smile. "Our science allowed us to accomplish many things that would appear impossible by Earth's standards." He then gestured toward the large circular doorway behind them. "This entrance remains permanently sealed and can only be opened from this side. Once someone is sent into the Phantom Zone, they exist as a living consciousness trapped within a timeless dimension."
Diana slowly looked at the sealed gateway, feeling a chill run down her spine that had nothing to do with the Arctic cold outside. "That sounds... lonely," she said quietly.
"It is," Jor-El replied solemnly. "Which is why it was only ever used for those who posed the greatest threat to Krypton itself." Then his expression softened slightly as he looked toward Izuku. "However, should a member of the House of El ever find themselves trapped within the Phantom Zone, there are hidden protocols that would allow them to escape. My family would never be left without hope."
Izuku looked at the projector thoughtfully before nodding. "I don't think I'll ever need to use this thing," he said honestly. "But it's good to know what it is." "I sincerely hope you never have to," Jor-El answered. The mood in the room became a little heavy after that, so Izuku decided it was time for something a little less serious.
Diana suddenly smiled to herself.
"What?" Izuku asked curiously.
She looked at him with amusement in her eyes.
"I was just thinking about the girls back at the dorm. They're probably losing their minds trying to figure out where you took me."
Izuku blinked before a sheepish smile appeared on his face.
"Yeah... Mina is probably making up a dozen different stories right now."
Diana laughed again before looking back out over the frozen landscape.
"We should do something that I can actually tell them about when we get back," she said with a playful smile. "I can't exactly walk into the dorm and casually say, 'Oh, by the way, Superman is an alien and took me to his secret crystal fortress in the Arctic.'"
Izuku immediately imagined the look on everyone's faces if she said that and nearly started laughing himself.
"You know..." he said with a grin. "I think I might know exactly what we can do."
The playful look in his eyes made Diana curious, and she couldn't help but smile as she followed him further into the Fortress, wondering what the world's strongest hero had planned next
A playful smile slowly spread across Izuku's face as an idea came to him. Without saying anything, he walked over to one of the crystal consoles and pressed a few glowing symbols. A hidden compartment opened in the wall, and from within it a sleek silver suit emerged. The suit looked surprisingly comfortable despite being made from materials Diana had never seen before, with glowing blue lines running along its sleeves and chest.
Diana looked at the suit curiously before glancing back at him. "And what exactly is this?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. Izuku's smile widened slightly as he carefully picked it up. "A Kryptonian space suit," he answered. "It regulates temperature, creates its own oxygen supply, and protects the wearer from the vacuum of space. I thought it might be fun to take you somewhere that very few people have ever been."
Diana blinked a few times before her eyes slowly widened. "Wait..." she said, already beginning to suspect what he meant. "Izuku, are you suggesting..." Before she could finish, he nodded with an almost childlike grin on his face.
"Want to visit the moon?"
Several seconds passed in complete silence before Diana started laughing softly. It was such a ridiculous question to ask on a first date that she couldn't help herself. Only Izuku Midoriya could casually ask someone if they wanted to visit the moon as though he were asking if they wanted to go to a café.
"I don't think many people can say they've been asked that before," Diana said with a smile. "But yes, I would love to."
A few minutes later, after the Fortress's robots had helped Diana put on the Kryptonian suit and explained how it worked, the two stood outside once again on the frozen plateau. The Fortress glowed behind them like a giant crystal beacon while the moon hung high in the sky above.
"You ready?" Izuku asked, extending his hand toward her.
Diana smiled and took it.
"I think this may be the most interesting date in history."
Izuku laughed before wrapping an arm around her waist once again. The next second they shot upward into the sky, breaking through the clouds and continuing higher and higher. Soon the atmosphere around them began to thin, the sky turning darker and darker until it became completely black.
Diana's eyes widened as the stars appeared around them in numbers she had never imagined possible. There were thousands upon thousands of them, stretching endlessly in every direction. Below them, Earth slowly grew smaller until the entire planet could fit within her field of view.
"It's... beautiful," she whispered, completely awestruck.
Izuku looked down at Earth and smiled softly. "I think so too. Every time I come up here, it reminds me how small we all are... and how important this world really is."
Before long, the gray surface of the moon appeared beneath them. Izuku slowed their descent until their feet gently touched the dusty ground. He let go of Diana and stepped back, giving her a moment to take everything in.
Diana slowly turned in a circle, unable to believe what she was seeing.
"I am standing on the moon," she said softly. "I am actually standing on the moon."
Her eyes drifted toward Earth, which hung in the sky like a giant blue jewel.
"And Earth looks so... peaceful from here."
The two eventually sat down on the lunar surface beside one another. There was no sound, no wind, and no distractions. Just the endless stars above and the beautiful blue planet hanging in the darkness before them.
For a long time neither of them said anything.
Then Diana glanced at him.
"What was your childhood like?"
Izuku smiled faintly at the question.
"It was... normal, I guess," he said quietly. "I was raised by two amazing parents. My mom worried about me all the time, and my dad always encouraged me to help people. I didn't know I was an alien growing up. To me, I was just another kid."
He looked down at his hands for a moment.
"I was always different, though. I had to hide what I could do because I didn't want to scare anyone. Sometimes I felt alone because there wasn't anyone else like me. Then I came to U.A. and made friends who accepted me for who I was."
Diana smiled softly as she listened.
"You don't seem lonely anymore."
Izuku looked at her and smiled.
"No... I don't think I am."
A slight blush appeared on Diana's cheeks before she looked back toward Earth.
"My childhood was very different," she said quietly. "I grew up on Themyscira surrounded by warriors. I was trained from a young age and taught to become strong, wise, and compassionate. I had many teachers and sisters, but I always wanted to see the world beyond my island."
She chuckled softly.
"I used to sneak away and imagine what life outside Themyscira was like. I wondered what ordinary people did every day."
Izuku laughed.
"And now you're sitting on the moon with an alien."
Diana laughed as well, the sound strangely comforting despite the emptiness around them.
"When you put it like that, my life has become far stranger than I ever imagined."
The two continued talking for hours, sharing stories about their childhoods, embarrassing memories, favorite foods, and dreams for the future. Slowly the nervousness that had been between them disappeared, replaced by something warm and comfortable.
Eventually, both of them fell silent once more and simply sat side by side on the moon, watching Earth slowly turn beneath them.
Eventually, the date began to wind down. The two had spent what felt like hours sitting together on the moon, talking about everything from their childhoods to their dreams for the future. Neither of them had really noticed how much time had passed. There had been no villains to fight, no hero work to do, and no expectations placed upon them. For the first time in a long while, both of them had simply been able to enjoy each other's company.
Diana leaned back slightly and looked out at Earth hanging in the darkness of space. The blue planet looked peaceful from this distance, almost fragile despite being home to billions of people. A small smile appeared on her face as an idea came to her.
"Before we leave..." Diana began while looking over at Izuku. "Can we take a few pictures? Because there is absolutely no way anyone is going to believe I was on the moon unless I have proof."
Izuku blinked before laughing.
"That's actually a really good point."
Without hesitation, he tapped the silver watch resting on his wrist. The liquid geoid surface immediately rippled and shifted before separating from the watch itself. Within seconds, the metallic substance transformed into a small floating robot with glowing blue eyes.
"Good evening, Kal-El," the robot said cheerfully.
Diana immediately recognized him and smiled.
"Hello, Kelex."
The robot turned toward her.
"Princess Diana. It is pleasant to see you again. I trust your date has been satisfactory?"
The question immediately caused both Diana and Izuku to blush.
"Kelex..." Izuku groaned.
"I am simply gathering data," the little robot replied innocently.
Diana laughed while Kelex floated upward a few feet into the air.
"Actually, Kelex, could you take a few pictures for us?" she asked.
"Of course."
Kelex immediately moved into position while Earth filled the background behind them. Diana stood beside Izuku and instinctively moved a little closer. For a brief second both of them looked slightly awkward, neither quite sure what to do with their hands. Kelex hovered there silently before speaking.
"You are standing 37 centimeters apart. Statistical analysis suggests this does not resemble a successful date photograph."
Both of them turned bright red.
"Kelex!"
The robot's eyes blinked.
"Adjusting."
A second later Diana stepped closer while Izuku scratched the back of his head awkwardly. Kelex captured several photos of the two standing together with Earth shining brilliantly behind them. Then he took a few more while they sat on the lunar surface, the stars stretching endlessly around them.
After that, Diana asked for several pictures of just herself.
"If I show up back at the dorm with pictures of me standing on the moon, the girls are going to completely lose their minds," she said while trying not to laugh.
Kelex happily floated around taking photographs from different angles. Some showed Diana standing proudly with Earth behind her, while others captured her sitting on the moon and looking out at space. The results looked so incredible that they almost seemed fake.
When they finished, Kelex projected the images into the air for them to review.
"They are perfect," Diana said with a huge smile.
Izuku nodded.
"Yeah. The girls are definitely going to be jealous."
Diana laughed before shaking her head.
"They're going to ask a million questions."
A mischievous smile appeared on Izuku's face.
"Well, you can show them the moon pictures."
Diana immediately understood what he meant.
"But not the Fortress."
Izuku nodded.
"The Fortress stays between us. It's one of the biggest secrets I have."
The trip back to Earth felt much shorter than the trip to the moon. The two of them flew through space together before entering Earth's atmosphere, streaking across the night sky like two shooting stars. Once they reached the Arctic again, they returned to the Fortress of Solitude where Diana carefully removed the Kryptonian space suit. The Fortress robots thanked her for visiting while Kelex promised that the pictures had been safely transferred.
As they stepped back outside onto the snowy plateau, Izuku pulled out his phone. "Oh, before I forget," he said while tapping a few things on the screen. "I had Kelex send the pictures to my phone. I'm sending them to you now." A second later, Diana's phone buzzed. She opened it and her eyes widened as she looked through the photographs of them standing on the moon with Earth in the background and the selfies of herself.
"They're beautiful," Diana said softly, scrolling through the pictures one by one. "The girls are never going to believe these are real." She stopped on one of the photos of the two of them sitting together on the lunar surface and smiled warmly. "I think this one might be my favorite."
Izuku smiled at her reaction before the two launched into the sky once more. The flight back to U.A. was peaceful, and for most of it they simply enjoyed each other's company in comfortable silence. Every now and then Diana would look down at her phone and smile again after seeing another picture from the date.
By the time the dorms finally came into view, it was incredibly late. Most of the lights in the building had already been turned off, and the campus was completely quiet. The two landed softly outside the dorm and walked toward the front door together.
"I should probably apologize in advance," Diana said with an amused smile. "The girls are probably going to interrogate me the moment I walk inside."
Izuku looked at the dark windows of the dorm and nodded seriously.
"Yeah... you're on your own there."
Diana blinked.
"What?"
Without another word, Izuku slowly reached for the door and opened it.
The common room was dimly lit, but the moment they stepped inside, they saw that nearly all of the boys had already gone to bed. A few empty soda cans and snack wrappers were scattered around from what had clearly been a long night of waiting. The girls, however, had stayed up.
Some of them had fallen asleep on the couches, while others were lying on the floor with blankets over them. Mina was somehow sleeping upside down in an armchair, and Jiro was asleep while still holding her phone. Momo had tried to stay awake but had eventually dozed off while sitting upright.
The sound of the door closing caused several of the girls to stir.
Mina's eyes slowly opened.
She blinked once.
Then twice.
Her gaze landed on Izuku and Diana standing together in the doorway.
A second later she shot to her feet.
"THEY'RE BACK!"
The entire common room exploded into chaos.
Jiro nearly fell off the couch. Momo jumped in surprise while Uraraka scrambled to sit up. Hagakure practically materialized from underneath a blanket, and several of the girls all turned toward the pair with identical expressions of excitement.
"Diana! How was it?!"
"Where did he take you?!"
"Did you have fun?!"
"Why are you both smiling like that?!"
Before anyone could say anything else, Izuku slowly took a step backward.
Then another.
Diana noticed immediately.
"Izuku..." she said, narrowing her eyes.
He gave her an awkward smile.
"Well, you survived the girls dragging you into your room earlier, so I'm sure you'll survive this too."
Her eyes widened.
"You're leaving me here?"
Izuku nodded.
"Absolutely."
"You can't just abandon me!"
"I believe in you."
Mina pointed at him accusingly.
"Oh no you don't! You're part of this too!"
The moment she started toward him, Izuku's survival instincts kicked in.
"Nope."
He turned around and practically sprinted toward the stairs.
"Izuku Midoriya!" Diana called after him.
He looked back for only a second and gave her a thumbs-up.
"You got this!"
Then he disappeared upstairs at super speed.
The room fell silent for a few moments.
All of the girls slowly turned toward Diana.
A dangerous amount of excitement appeared on their faces.
Mina grinned.
"Now then..."
Uraraka leaned forward.
"Tell us everything."
Diana looked at the stairs where Izuku had vanished and let out a long sigh. She had fought monsters, trained with Amazons, and faced dangerous villains before, yet somehow being left alone with an excited group of teenage girls felt far more intimidating. Slowly, she turned back toward them and was immediately greeted by several pairs of sparkling eyes.
Mina was the first to move, grabbing Diana by both shoulders and practically shaking with excitement. "Start talking!" she demanded while grinning from ear to ear. "Where did Superman take you on your first date? Was it a fancy restaurant? Did he take you to another country? Did he fly you around the world?"
The other girls quickly surrounded her as well.
"Did he hold your hand?"
"Did he buy you anything?"
"Did he kiss you?"
At the last question, Diana nearly choked.
"N-No!" she said quickly, her face immediately turning red.
The girls all looked at one another before grinning even wider.
"Oh, she's blushing."
"She is definitely blushing."
"This date went well."
Diana covered her face with one hand while trying not to laugh. "You all are impossible," she said, shaking her head. "And no, I cannot tell you everything."
A chorus of disappointed groans immediately filled the common room.
"What do you mean you can't tell us everything?!"
"You can't just say that!"
"That's not fair!"
Diana smiled apologetically.
"Some things he showed me are private. They are his secrets, and I promised I would keep them."
The girls quieted down slightly at that. Even Mina, despite her excitement, understood that if Izuku had trusted Diana with something important, she wouldn't betray that trust.
Then a mischievous smile slowly spread across Diana's face.
"But..." she began.
Every girl leaned forward.
"I can show you some pictures."
The room went completely silent.
Then all at once—
"PICTURES?!"
Diana couldn't help but laugh as she pulled out her phone.
"You all might want to sit down."
They did the exact opposite and crowded around her so closely that she could barely move. Momo leaned over one shoulder while Uraraka and Jiro peered from the other side. Mina somehow ended up directly in front of the phone.
Diana opened her gallery.
The first picture appeared.
It was a photograph of herself and Izuku standing together with Earth hanging behind them in the darkness of space.
Nobody said anything.
Several seconds passed.
Then Mina blinked.
"...Why is Earth behind you?"
Diana simply smiled.
Mina blinked again.
Then she screamed.
"YOU WENT TO THE MOON?!"
The entire dorm erupted.
"YOU DID WHAT?!"
"THAT'S THE MOON?!"
"THAT'S ACTUALLY EARTH IN THE BACKGROUND!"
Jiro grabbed the phone and stared at it with wide eyes.
"No... no way. That's impossible."
"It's really the moon," Diana said, unable to stop smiling. "Izuku took me there."
Silence.
Then Uraraka slowly sat down on the couch.
"My friend... went on a date... on the moon."
Momo looked just as stunned.
"I don't even know how to react to that."
Hagakure practically bounced in place.
"That's the coolest date ever!"
Diana continued showing them the pictures. There were photos of her standing proudly on the lunar surface, one of her sitting while looking at Earth, and another of her and Izuku together with the stars surrounding them.
The girls all stared in complete amazement.
Then Mina suddenly looked up.
"I hate him."
The others turned toward her.
"What?"
She pointed dramatically at the phone.
"He took his date to the moon! How are normal boys supposed to compete with that?!"
The room burst into laughter.
Even Diana couldn't hold it in.
Eventually, the excitement died down a little, and the girls all sat together looking through the pictures agai
