Chapter 36: Give Me Some Face
Babimyna's En isn't too big or too small, probably enough to cover a hotel apartment with several rooms and living areas. As he opened his En to find his way, he naturally included Arthur and the others following him.
"So this is what it feels like to be observed by someone else's En? Doesn't seem all that special," thought Arthur as they arrived at their destination, among the moonlit piles of rocks.
The Blanchet Company staff following them hesitated, whispering into their earpieces.
Babimyna soon stopped in front of a massive boulder, pushing it with one hand to reveal a previously hidden side.
"This is it," Shizuku said, her glasses slipping down her nose.
Underneath the stone, hidden by weeds, Menchi brushed aside the grass to reveal strange symbols. "Is this the Divine Script you mentioned?" she asked, puzzled.
The dense symbols, reminiscent of ancient totems, evoked thoughts of rituals, ignorance, primitivism, and mystery...
Shizuku reached out to touch the Divine Script, but Arthur grabbed her wrist. "Don't rush. We don't know what this Divine Script does yet."
He turned and asked, "Is this the only one?"
Babimyna replied, "So far, yes, who's there?" His eyes suddenly sharpened, looking elsewhere.
A cold wind rose.
Several Kakin soldiers immediately drew their guns.
Nothing was there.
Arthur, Menchi, and Shizuku focused their aura on their eyes.
Sure enough, a ghostly white boy appeared, floating like a will-o'-the-wisp.
The Blanchet Company staff were confused, not understanding why they were so startled.
Arthur and the others concentrated their aura on their ears, soon hearing the ghost's chilling words: "Hui Guo Rou... must die... Hui Guo Rou... must die..."
With these curse-like words, more and more jade-like glowing spots appeared in the surrounding forest, previously dispersed moonlit tigers.
The tigers' eyes watched the humans from the darkness.
"Hui Guo Rou... must die..."
The ghost repeated, making the atmosphere increasingly eerie.
Babimyna noticed Arthur's reaction and concentrated his aura on his ears. His usually calm face showed a slight change.
Menchi's forehead was sweaty. Shizuku, seemingly unaware, curiously watched the ghost, thinking it resembled her boss. If Arthur knew her thoughts, he'd flick her forehead, how could it look like him?
Babimyna gave a signal, and his subordinates understood, quickly moving with a few muffled thuds behind them.
Arthur and the others turned to see the Kakin soldiers knocking out the Blanchet Company staff and laying them on the ground.
"Prince Nasuti?" Babimyna looked at the ghost.
"Hui Guo Rou... must die..." The ghost didn't respond, its eyes equally white, showing no expression.
Babimyna frowned and tried again, "Little Prince?"
Menchi couldn't help but think, what's going on? Why does this Kakin guy see a ghost and guess it's a prince or a royal?
Do Kakin's princes have such a high mortality rate?
"Hui Guo Rou... must die..."
The ghost's voice grew emptier, even the moonlight seemed colder, giving everyone goosebumps.
"Hey, isn't that..."
At that moment, Diego and his group arrived, seeing the ghost confronting Babimyna and Arthur. They were also startled by the glowing eyes of the moonlit tigers. "Why are there so many moonlit tigers gathered?"
"Did you find anything?"
Diego and his group approached, seeing the unconscious Blanchet Company staff, exchanging glances with Arthur and the others.
"Well, if you don't count this little thing, the discovery is this," Arthur glanced at the ghost and pointed to the dense Divine Script on the boulder. "Inject Nen Aura into it, and something might happen. No guarantee it's good or safe."
Diego and the others hesitated, "What do you think?"
Arthur looked at the others, "What do you two think?"
Shizuku said, "I'll follow your lead."
Menchi shrugged, "Stop pretending, just say it."
Arthur laughed, "Doing it for money, that's professionalism."
"True Martial King?" Babimyna tried another name or title.
"Stop guessing, man. It says Hui Guo Rou must die, and you're not Hui Guo Rou, so why worry?" Arthur gestured, "See, it hasn't done anything to you. Let's try this Divine Script. If something happens..."
Arthur, Menchi, Shizuku, and Diego attempted to inject their aura into the Divine Script on the boulder. As soon as they did, they turned into white light, crashing into the boulder and disappearing into the Divine Script.
"What happened..." Arthur's voice abruptly stopped in the night.
"What?!"
The Kakin soldiers were shocked, but their faces soon turned pale as a chilling, eerie, and terrifying aura rapidly expanded near them.
It was the ghost!
The ghostly boy grew wildly like a wildfire, transforming into a four-winged, two-legged skeletal dragon.
"Is this aura real?!"
Babimyna immediately raised his Ken for protection, stepping back. "Filled with malicious Nen..."
"Hui Guo Rou..."
The skeletal dragon's hollow eyes flickered with ghostly green flames, its massive skull slowly approaching Babimyna, its voice emptier than its appearance, "Must die...!!"
Under the empty moonlight, the dragon's roar was like a blood-curdling cry, unheard by ordinary people.
Among the glowing eyes, one pair was special, Arthur, possessing Lumin, watched with a stunned expression.
...
"Endless Reincarnation"
"Specialization Type·Cooperative"
"The soul that died with resentment, merged miraculously with the Nen Beast it was hosted in, leaving behind an everlasting grudge, wandering the ancient ancestral land... Using the moonlit tiger as a vessel for reincarnation, the grudge never dissipates... Without true consciousness or intelligence, only encountering Hui Guo Rou royal bloodline triggers true murderous intent..."
"Arthur, what's wrong?"
In the dimly lit passage, Menchi waved her hand in front of Arthur's eyes, "Did you fall and hit your head?"
"I don't understand, but I'm deeply shocked."
Arthur snapped back, grabbing Shizuku's outstretched hand, leaping up, and dusting himself off. "What is this place?"
Several flashlight beams shone over, making Arthur squint. He flicked his fingers, and a panicked voice came from the other side, "Don't be rash! It's us!"
Diego and his group moved the flashlights aside, "It's us!"
"Why are you waving them around?" Arthur said irritably, "If I accidentally killed you, it'd be considered a mistake!"
Diego felt awkward but couldn't bring himself to apologize.
Arthur didn't care, casually dispersing the 'Finger Flick Technique' he had gathered, wasting about 100 aura.
At that moment, Arthur noticed something. He concentrated more aura in his eyes, carefully observing the passage walls.
"Is there something?" Menchi came closer.
Shizuku also curiously gathered aura in her eyes, exclaiming, "There are words on the wall?"
"These are messages written with Nen Aura, only visible to Nen Ability users," Arthur commented. "It's like taking off your pants to fart. Anyone who can enter here must be Nen Ability users who can trigger the Divine Script. Why leave messages that require Gyo to see?"
He asked Diego and the others, "What does this place look like?"
Diego and his group, learning from Arthur and the others, used Gyo to observe the Nen words on the walls. They replied, "Probably an ancient tomb..."
"That explains it." Arthur muttered.
Menchi read the Nen words on the wall: "Give me some face, don't disturb here. Ging Freecss..."
