Frieza vanished instantly.
He didn't move fast; he simply ceased to exist in that spatial coordinate. Kaido and Vegeta lost their target lock at the exact same time, their senses screaming in warning.
The next second, Frieza appeared out of thin air right in front of Kaido, staring directly up into the Yonko's eyes.
He landed a solid, unspectacular punch right in Kaido's abdomen.
The impact was localized but absolute. Kaido's eyes bulged outward. Stomach acid mixed with blood spewed straight out of his mouth.
Frieza didn't stop. His five elegant fingers formed a claw. He pierced directly through the vaunted scales on Kaido's abdomen as if they were made of wet tissue paper.
He grabbed onto one of Kaido's thick, underlying ribs. Pulling outward with a brutal, sickening force, he forcefully ripped that bloodied rib straight out of Kaido's body, showering the ground in gore.
Kaido let out an incredibly agonized roar of fury, the pain searing through his nervous system.
But he didn't take half a step back. Instead, leaning into the horrific injury, he spread his massive arms. He death-hugged Frieza's petite body, locking the tyrant in an unbreakable grip of muscle and scales.
"Brat in the blue suit! Do it!" Kaido roared at the sky above, blood painting his teeth red.
Vegeta didn't hesitate at all. He rushed directly above Frieza, utilizing the momentary grapple. Clasping his hands together into a double-fist, focusing all the remaining strength in his body, he smashed them viciously toward Frieza's exposed head.
Frieza let out a cold, amused sneer.
A dense purple aura abruptly erupted from within him. The rampaging air pressure formed an inescapable, omnidirectional shockwave—an explosive wave of pure, tyrannical ki.
It directly blasted both Kaido, who was holding onto him with all his might, and Vegeta overhead, away at the same time. The sheer repulsive force broke Kaido's grip effortlessly.
The two men smashed heavily onto the hard, dry ground hundreds of meters away. They dragged out two long trails of blood on the earth, their bodies battered and broken. They couldn't get up for a long time, the wind completely knocked out of them.
Frieza casually threw away the bloody, massive rib, letting it clatter against the glassed earth. He slowly floated over and landed in front of Kaido.
He looked down at the massive blood hole in Kaido's abdomen. The flesh there had once again begun writhing and healing rapidly. Even the snapped, removed rib was regrowing at an unimaginable speed, the bone knitting itself back together in seconds.
The interest in Frieza's eyes grew ever more intense, replacing his earlier boredom.
"Your bodily functions completely violate the common sense of universal biology," Frieza analyzed, tapping his chin. "No need to consume ki. No need for medical equipment assistance. By relying solely on physical instinct, you can achieve complete limb regeneration and organ repair."
Frieza clasped his hands behind his back. He started walking in slow, deliberate circles around Kaido's massive frame, sizing him up. Like he was admiring a rare, exotic work of art he intended to purchase.
"And that black-red lightning you released earlier... That wasn't ki either. Instead, it's a kind of pure mental oppressive force. Although it's utterly useless against me, it's quite convenient for clearing out trash."
Frieza stopped walking. He looked down at Kaido from a superior position, completely ignoring the coughing-up-blood Vegeta nearby.
"Big guy, tell me your name," Frieza asked, his tone carrying a condescending sense of charity, as if speaking to a stray dog.
Kaido lay on the ground, panting heavily. His chest heaved violently as his lungs repaired themselves. He supported himself on the ground with his trembling hands and struggled to sit up, refusing to lay prone before an enemy.
"I am Kaido of the Beasts!" Kaido announced his title, his voice still booming and defiant.
Frieza nodded in satisfaction. "Kaido. Although your strength can only be considered that of a third-rate weakling in the grand scale of the universe... This body of yours possesses immense research value."
"And your ability to take a beating, your sheer vitality... Are vastly superior to that useless piece of trash, Vegeta."
Frieza extended his right hand toward Kaido, palm facing up in an open invitation.
"I'm in a good mood today. I'll give you a rare chance to live. Submit to me. Become my direct subordinate."
Frieza offered exceptionally generous terms, fully expecting the savage to grovel. "As long as you are willing to serve me, I can give you Vegeta's current position. I will equip you with the most advanced medical spaceship in the universe. I will bestow upon you countless rich and beautiful planets."
"You can become an existence in this universe... under only one person, but above ten thousand. How about it? This is a blessing that others couldn't even beg for."
Vegeta, bleeding in the distance, heard Frieza's words. He was so angry his entire broken body was trembling. He, the dignified, noble Saiyan Prince, was actually being used by Frieza as a cheap stepping stone to recruit an unknown, barbaric native!
This kind of extraordinary humiliation was even worse than killing him.
"Frieza! You bastard!" Vegeta roared with the last bit of his strength, his voice cracking.
Frieza didn't even turn his head. His left hand, resting casually behind his back, flicked out a tiny Death Beam backward.
The beam directly pierced right through Vegeta's right thigh.
Vegeta let out a tragic scream. He completely lost his remaining strength and collapsed to his knees in a pool of his own blood, unable to make another sound, clutching his leg.
Frieza continued looking at Kaido, waiting for the black-skinned giant's answer. In his eyes, no living creature could refuse the recruitment of the Emperor of the Universe. This was supreme glory.
Kaido blanked for a few seconds. He looked at Frieza's confident, smug face.
Suddenly, he clutched his healed stomach and let out an earth-shaking roar of wild laughter.
"Hahahahaha!"
Kaido laughed until tears streamed from his eyes. His massive laughter echoed across the empty wasteland, completely devoid of fear.
The smile on Frieza's face gradually faded. His eyes turned utterly cold, the temperature dropping around them.
"What are you laughing at?" Frieza's voice revealed undisguised killing intent.
Kaido finally managed to stop laughing. He used the broken half of Hassaikai to firmly prop himself against the ground. He swayed as he stood up straight, towering over the alien tyrant.
He spat the remaining bloody water from his mouth right onto the ground, intentionally aiming for Frieza's feet.
"You noseless midget. Have you been in the universe too long... That your brain has rusted and filled with water?"
Kaido poked his own broad chest heavily with his thick finger.
"I am a Yonko of the New World! I have the Beasts Pirates with tens of thousands of men under my command! What the fck are you, thinking you're worthy to have me as your subordinate?!"
Kaido's face was full of undisguised, venomous mockery. He didn't care at all about the massive gap in their strength.
"I'm currently at the pub in Foosha Village, working as the dedicated security guard No. 007 for Manager Blake! Food and housing included every day! I even get to watch self-righteous, other-worldly country bumpkins like you get beaten up on the broadcast!"
"I don't even put the World Government's Five Elders in my eyes! And a dwarf like you, with a pathetic battle power of only 530,000, actually dares to shamelessly talk about incorporating me?!"
Kaido hoisted the broken Hassaikai onto his broad shoulder, pointing at Frieza with his single remaining dragon horn.
"And generously gifting me a few planets? All I need to do is bring these seven broken Dragon Balls back to the pub. If Manager Blake casually rewards me with something... I could twist your dog head off and kick it around like a chamber pot!"
Frieza's face had already darkened to the extreme, the veins on his forehead bulging.
He didn't understand what a Yonko was. He didn't understand what Foosha Village was. And he certainly didn't know who this so-called Manager Blake was.
But he understood the rejection and the extreme insults in Kaido's words perfectly clear.
Dwarf. Noseless. Midget.
These words accurately stepped right onto the Emperor of the Universe's absolute landmines.
"Very well." Frieza smiled in extreme anger, his voice dropping to a terrifying whisper. "A very spineful barbarian."
"Since you are so unappreciative, and rejected my merciful kindness... Then take that miraculous regenerative ability you are so proud of, and go to Hell to slowly show off to the King of Hell."
Frieza slowly raised his right hand. A massive purplish-black energy sphere rapidly expanded above his palm. The destructive aura of death instantly enveloped the entire battlefield, making it hard to breathe.
The surrounding rubble and sand floated uncontrollably toward the sky, caught in the gravitational pull of the attack. The energy sphere's volume grew larger and larger, the sickly light it emitted illuminating Kaido's face a ghastly white.
Kaido tightened his grip on Hassaikai. He knew he couldn't block this attack.
But he didn't take half a step back. The word "beg for mercy" had never existed in a pirate's dictionary.
