The water looked especially enticing as it rippled with the wind in the late morning hours of the day. It carried with it soft notes of almond blossom, grass and wet wood left to dry in the sun. The song of the birds chirping away in the swaying branches, delightfully sweet and melodious, prompted both men to close their eyes as their skin dried from sweat baked in the sun.
Kenneth eyed the lapis water with trepidation. It had been awhile since he'd dipped his toes in any body of water. His eyes flickered to his left, watching Lucien's nonchalant pause as he crouched down and dipped his fingers into the lake. He let out a low hum.
"It's the perfect temperature for a swim."
"It's still early spring," Kenneth replied, his eyes never leaving the water.
"The sun is at its peak so it shouldn't be a problem." And as he said this, he began removing every article of clothing on his person.
