Chapter 152 - Getting Paid to Travel

She had nothing to hide, really.

Among everyone present, the only ones capable of learning this particular jutsu—aside from Konan—were Uzumaki Mina, Uzumaki Kushina, and Uchiha Haru.

And given the current state of the Uzumaki clan, Seisui wasn't about to stop any of them from learning new techniques.

Besides, Haru was her girlfriend.

The Yin Seal was originally an Uzumaki technique anyway, so it wasn't strange for her to be the one teaching it.

Tsunade thought for a moment, then broke into a wide grin. "Of course, my time is very valuable."

"All it takes is five hundred thousand ryō a year, and you'll get personal guidance from a strong, beautiful kunoichi."

"It's a real bargain!"

As she said this, Tsunade winked playfully at everyone.

Seeing that no one seemed interested in learning, Tsunade frowned slightly, realizing she hadn't yet mentioned what the Yin Seal could do.

So she immediately added, "The Yin Seal can store chakra, allowing you to instantly recover all your chakra during battle."

"And it also keeps your appearance young and flawless."

As she spoke, Tsunade pointed to her own face.

"See this? Even when I'm eighty years old, I'll still look exactly like this."

The moment she said that, the women—who had been indifferent just seconds before—suddenly had their eyes shining with interest.

Noticing their reactions, Tsunade smirked triumphantly.

Looks like I'm about to make some money again.

She was feeling pretty good about herself.

Though the Senju clan had long disbanded, they still left behind a considerable fortune, which had been managed by her grandmother, Uzumaki Mito.

Before Mito's passing, however, she transferred control of the clan's finances to an elder who still resided in the compound.

That was basically her way of saying she didn't trust Tsunade with the money.

Seeing his sister's greedy grin, Nawaki leaned toward Nagato and whispered helplessly, "Forget half a million ryo—even if you gave her five million, it'd be gone by noon."

"There's even a rumor going around the Konoha gambling halls that a 'Lucky Boy' shows up whenever Tsunade does."

"My grandma told me before she passed—once that elder dies, all the clan's wealth goes to me, and I'm supposed to keep an eye on her. Make sure she doesn't gamble it all away."

Nawaki was still whispering when he failed to notice that Tsunade had already walked up behind him, her expression dark and frigid.

"Is that so?" Tsunade's voice was icy enough to freeze blood.

Hearing her tone, Nagato blinked and instinctively slid away from Nawaki.

Nawaki stiffened, slowly turning his head.

"I—I was just kidding. You believe me, right?" he said weakly, trying to smile.

"Heh. Talking behind your sister's back, are you? That's a very impolite habit, Nawaki."

Without another word, Tsunade grabbed him by the back of the collar and dragged him out the door.

"Yamete!"

Outside, the group could hear Nawaki's miserable cries echoing through the courtyard.

Seisui and the others glanced at each other.

Yeah, note to self: never make Tsunade angry.

She's terrifying.

Seisui sighed inwardly, glancing at Haru beside him.

Good thing Haru's the gentle, housewife type. I'm no Jiraiya—I'd never survive Tsunade's "iron fist of love."

And so, breakfast ended with Tsunade hauling Nawaki off for a good thrashing.

When everyone finally dispersed, Seisui turned to Minato and Haru.

"Alright, time for us to head out."

"Mm." Both nodded at once.

Kushina, sitting beside Minato, looked worried. "Make sure you all come back safely, okay?"

Though she had already graduated from the Ninja Academy, Kushina hadn't joined any squad.

Like Might Duy, she preferred working solo.

Of course, that was partly because she didn't think much of her classmates—aside from the Ino–Shika–Cho trio, she found everyone else beneath her.

Honestly, if not for knowing Shikaku and the others, she wouldn't even have acknowledged them.

They were just too weak.

So, to this day, she hasn't done a single mission.

Hiruzen didn't stop her, either.

Konoha wasn't exactly in dire need of another active ninja—especially not one like Kushina, whom Uzumaki Mito had cherished like a granddaughter.

In fact, Hiruzen secretly preferred that she not take on missions.

The Uzumaki were finally establishing ROOTs in Konoha, and he wanted that bloodline to flourish.

Sending them on dangerous missions? That just meant risking deaths he couldn't afford.

One lost Uzumaki would feel like losing a piece of his heart.

Under his leadership, Konoha having another powerful bloodline clan made all the difference.

Hearing Kushina's concern, Minato just smiled. "Don't worry. We're strong. Nothing will happen."

Then, turning to Seisui, he asked, "Unless… you want to bring her along?"

Seisui nodded casually.

Seeing that, Minato grinned in relief.

Kushina's eyes lit up. "Really? I can come?"

"No problem," Seisui said. "We're just using this 'mission' as an excuse to go out and relax anyway."

"Besides…" He smirked. "With our strength, we could wipe out a whole nation if we wanted."

He spoke with easy confidence, exuding an aura of dominance that said the world bends to me.

If Sasori could destroy a country, then why not us? With Tailed Beast Bombs and explosive clay—who could possibly stop us?

Kushina cheered, wrapping her arm around Minato's. "Then I'm going too!"

Realizing how that sounded, she quickly corrected herself. "I mean—I'm joining the mission!"

With that, she dashed off to change into her combat gear.

She wasn't gone long. When she returned, she was dressed in a tight black battle outfit with a Konoha forehead protector tied proudly on her head.

(Uzumaki Kushina — just imagine it, I couldn't find a better reference image!)

Soon, Seisui led his three teammates to the mission hall, where they easily found an escort request—to accompany a merchant caravan to the Land of Hot Water.

However, once Hiruzen learned about it, he immediately summoned them to the Hokage's office.

As he looked at the four of them, listening to their plan, the Hokage rubbed his temples.

He really didn't want Seisui leaving the village.

But given his current power—and the fact that he was traveling with Uchiha Haru, who wielded the Mangekyo Sharingan, and Minato, who had mastered the Flying Raijin—it wasn't unreasonable to let them go.

After a long sigh, Hiruzen finally nodded.

"If you're determined to take on a mission, then accept this one."

He shuffled through a stack of reports and pulled out a suitable file.

"An A-rank mission—investigate the disappearance of several people in the Land of Hot Water and uncover the culprit behind it."

"Since you're already heading there, you can take this as well."

Seisui glanced between the caravan request in his hand and the A-rank report on Hiruzen's desk, then nodded with a grin.

"Then we'll take both."

"We'll escort the caravan first, then investigate the disappearances."

"That way, we'll save the village some manpower."

Hiruzen blinked, momentarily surprised, then smiled warmly.

As expected of the one who truly carries the Will of Fire.

Such a strong sense of duty.

"Very well," the Hokage said. "You four may accept both missions. But remember—if you encounter any danger, abandon the task immediately and return to the village to report."

"Your lives are the most important thing."

All four nodded, though their casual attitudes told Hiruzen they weren't taking his warning all that seriously.

He could only sigh inwardly.

But honestly, what could threaten them?

Even a Kage would have a hard time against that lineup.

After exchanging a few more words, Seisui led his team out of the Hokage's office.

Once they were far enough away, Kushina blinked in confusion. "Seisui, why did we take two missions?"

Seisui shot Minato a look and patted his shoulder. "You explain."

Minato immediately understood and smiled at Kushina.

"The escort job is just a cover," he said. "We'll travel with the merchants—it's safer and a lot more comfortable than walking the whole way."

"If any bandits or rogue ninja show up, we'll just handle them along the way."

"Basically… we're getting paid to travel."

Kushina's eyes sparkled. "So we're not really bodyguards—we're the VIPs! I love it!"

Seeing her excitement, Seisui nodded in satisfaction.

That's right. If you've got power and don't use it to make life easier, what's the point of training?

Leading the group, Seisui walked ahead with Haru at his side, while Minato and Kushina followed behind.

According to the mission details, the caravan bound for the Land of Hot Water was gathering nearby.

Sure enough, when they arrived, several merchant groups were mingling together—each with their own hired ninja.

"Which one of you's heading to the Land of Hot Water?" Seisui shouted.

The crowd of ninja startled at his booming voice, but when they noticed Minato's green flak jacket, they immediately backed down.

A chunin squad, huh? Guess we better watch our mouths.
