Ezra has been thinking about it.
Well, not really.
Not until today.
As Helios continued to talk, staring at him, Ezra had begun feeling sick.
At first, he thought it was because he was starting to feel exasperated.
Disgusted, even.
The way Helios looked at him now made his skin crawl.
Like Helios was a wild animal.
And Ezra was a piece of meat being carefully watched.
It made him uncomfortable.
Deeply uncomfortable.
But then Ezra started feeling dizzy.
Just a little.
Nothing major.
Just enough that he noticed it.
And tired too, despite the fact that it was still morning.
Ezra's first thought?
'Is Helios using something to make me dizzy?'
At this point, it wasn't even that unreasonable of a suspicion.
But Helios seemed distracted.
Focused entirely on his own words and whatever version of reality he was trying to sell.
It didn't seem like he was actively doing anything.
So Ezra dismissed the thought.
His second assumption was much simpler.
