It wasn't meant to be like this, with me sitting in the cold of some sort of Arctic having nothing but what I'd taken when going to meet some friends. I'm just thankful I decided to go all out when I left.
'Wallet, glasses on my face, phone shit only got 60%, I should have slept earlier. Lucky bracelet, watch even though it doesn't fit me properly, tissues are in the coat and lastly camera bag.' On the phone screen, the date is shown as 5/4/2026 with the time being 11:47.
"Shit socks… now I just need my new shoes, and that should be everything." Going over everything in my head one last time, and having everything I put my coat on, then the camera bag over that, then got out the new sneakers which looked a lot like the ones he used to wear at his old house with them needing all white with blue stitching and they go just a little bit above the ankle.
'Right, that's everything now; just need to send them a message on Discord aaaannnnddd done. WAIT SHIT HEADPHONES!'
"Right, love you, dad!" I said while popping my head into the kitchen.
"WAIT, where are you going?"
"I'm off to see some of my friends; I'll be back around nine ISH." Going fully into the kitchen so he could see me full in my outfit.
"Hmm, alright, stay safe, love you as well!"
"Yep, right, I'm off, mum; love you, and as I said, I'll be back around nine." Moving from the kitchen to the bottom of the stairs, I say upstairs.
"Love you too."
Unlocking the door and doing one final mental check were after I put the headphones on and played my "why not" playlist on shuffle, so with everything ready, I go out, and after heading into the underpass, I'm instead greeted with a wasteland, causing me to quite reasonably freeze in place while trying to understand what the fuck is happening.
And all the while this was happening, the song Miracle by The Score plays in the background.

Thankfully, it was fairly easy to start a fire due to my bracelet and some of the tissues along with this continent Forrest. And while I might not be a genius in astrology, I'm pretty sure that humanity has yet to be able to keep two giant flying islands well flying for more than half the day.
So the most likely problem right now is that I'm in an entirely new dimension or universe, and while I would love to keep a diary or something similar to a record of my newfound adventure, that would be stupid at least until I figure out whether we can understand each other via both speaking and writing.
If they can't understand my writing, then depending on just how different it is, I might write a diary of my adventure and whatnot. I just hope it's different enough that they wouldn't be able to decode the language and understand it.
For now, however, I've been keeping little notes in my phone as well as keeping it shut off and somewhere dry to keep it safe.
So far, there are only a few notes on my phone.
1. Music works, though only due to downloading the playlists.
2. I'm celebrating my 16th birthday soon. DOB14/10/07.
3. Depending on the situation, adjust the money-making method.
4. Be careful with the photos of home.
5. Some clothes are bigger on me now. (Coat is now more like a trench coat; the sleeves are a pain.)
6. My cam bag is even bigger than I thought.
That was about it for now. I simply just appeared, considering there were no snow prints suggesting otherwise, and that I've apparently been modified, considering I'm missing a few scars and I feel a lot healthier, considering I'm barely feeling the cold and the campfire isn't the best of help.
Spreading my legs and keeping the fire in the middle, I bring out my bag and check if anything else is different: bag of lolly pops, check; two orange boxes, check; things for the camera, check. Okay, what about the camera? Taking that out, I check everything, and it is fine; the battery was even at a solid 3 bars.
Sighing out of relief as everything was fine and that I no longer had anything to worry about, I fell back under the big ass tree and onto the grass, only to see a gorgeous sight that could only be matched with my top 5 best moments in my life.
I saw a massive aurora borealis with all sorts of colours, almost as though there was a rainbow in the middle of the night and with the broken moon in the backdrop acting as a sort of vortex drawing the eye, and the shards reflecting back the aurora made the sight just majestic.
Taking a few photos with my camera, from shots through the fire to using the smoke and even the trees as a way of drawing the eye and making the photo have sharp lines instead of just flowing, wobbling lines due to the aurora borealis.
Putting everything away and getting ready to go to bed with the fire being fed, I started drifting off as I got a basic idea of where I might be now, and it turns out I might be in one of the greatest potential ideas for an anime.
I was in the world of Remnant, also known as RWBY, an anime that was mainly a passion project to have a way to make cool fight scenes.

Luggage: One large camera bag with 3 main pockets: one for the camera, and the smallest one contained 7 SD cards and one metallic coin of some kind, a camera cleaning kit, a remote and 2 batteries for it, 2 camera batteries, a measuring mat and 5 cotton buds along with a handful of lollipops. The biggest pocket contains a lens cap holder, 2 UV lens filters, 4 lenses in different filters, 2 modules to further the zoom, and a zoom lens, 2 tripods, one small and one large, and one carton of orange juice and a battery charger for the camera.
On his person are an old scroll module, a packet of tissues, wired headphones, a wallet and some plastic bags.
(Note: nearly all items had to be explained by the subject due to the inspector's uncertainty; he also had a small bag of rubbish consisting of a few lollipop sticks and an empty carton.)
Additional notes: Appears cooperative with the law; he is a suspected aura user due to seemingly ignoring the cold as well as not being properly dressed for the weather; however, he is unlikely to be {REDACTED}, but his face has been catalogued.
His reason for entry is to explore the festival as well as take photographs for anybody wishing to buy photos and use them; claims to be from Vale and has a mixed heritage, with his mother being from Mistral and father being from Mantle but moved to Vale due to personal reasons.
Overall evaluation: An interesting though ordinary teen who might have his aura unlocked but is unavailable to consciously use or manipulate, has a talent for photography and seems to be naturally skittish or is simply not used to social interactions.

As for why it says "due to the inspector's unfinality" can be explained with multiple reasons: first, Winter is a rich kid; she wouldn't have to worry about some things, and second, Remnant is more technologically advanced than Earth in some aspects, such as data storage as well as power storage and cameras, as seen with Velvet's camera.
