Chapter 226 - Yae Miko: Isn’t There a Perfect Target Right Here?

Seeing that Yae Miko had no intention of sparing her, Herta hardened her resolve.

At this moment, there was still a small gap between them. The only way Yae Miko could reach her was by kicking her.

But if Yae Miko dared to extend her leg, Herta would drag her down with her.

"Hehe…"

Looking at the murderous determination in Herta's eyes, Yae Miko calmly took out a bow and arrow.

"This is the bow Gorou kindly donated. If you're upset, Miss Herta, you should blame him."

"…What?"

Herta almost spat blood. She didn't expect Yae Miko to have a bow.

And from what she said, it had originally belonged to Gorou. Then how exactly had she managed to eliminate someone armed with a bow?

It made no sense. Getting eliminated while holding a bow—was he just that incompetent?

"Oh, right. Getting eliminated means punishment, you know."

"Can you stop talking?"

Herta glared at her fiercely. She was about to be eliminated, and this fox was still rubbing it in.

Just wait. Next time, she would definitely get her revenge.

[Attention: Player Bennett has been eliminated.]

"…Huh?"

"…What?"

The system notification suddenly rang out, leaving both of them stunned.

What was going on? Someone got eliminated just like that?

And there wasn't even any mention of who eliminated Bennett.

A thought formed simultaneously in both their minds.

He probably eliminated himself.

Only Valerius covered his face. That unlucky kid really outdid himself—managing to block a shot for Herta in such a ridiculous way.

"Hmph. Just you wait."

Herta shot Yae Miko one last look before letting go.

You want me to take punishment? Fine—but even if I get eliminated, you're not getting my point.

"Wait—what?!"

Yae Miko was caught off guard as Herta suddenly dropped. That was her point!

[Attention: Player Herta has been eliminated.]

"Hey! At least give me the point!"

She was furious. Herta would rather eliminate herself than give her the score?

"Heh, that's actually pretty funny."

Valerius's leisurely voice rang out, instantly irritating Yae Miko.

What, you enjoying my loss?

"Sell me something. Now."

She didn't bother arguing with him. She needed to gear up quickly and start hunting players.

"Take your time browsing."

Unbothered by her attitude, Valerius opened a long menu.

[High-Mobility Propulsion Blueprint: 4 points]

[Ultra-Long-Range Precision Catapult Blueprint: 4 points]

[High-Precision Ballistic Missile x1: 5 points]

[RPG Rocket Launcher (with 4 rockets): 3 points]

[AK47 (Unlimited Ammo): 2 points]

[M416 (Unlimited Ammo): 2 points]

[Fragmentation Grenades (10-pack): 2 points]

[Composite Bow: 1 point]

After scanning through the options, Yae Miko hesitated.

She originally wanted both a propulsion blueprint and a weapon, but that would leave her with only 4 points total—even if she won, it wouldn't be worth it.

As for buying a composite bow… she already had one.

"So… gun or grenades?"

She gave up on the propulsion blueprint. She could already move for now. What she needed was firepower to quickly earn points.

Her eyes flicked toward Valerius.

Then, they narrowed slightly.

"Valerius, you're fair in this game, right?"

"Of course. Why?"

Valerius was puzzled. Where was this coming from?

"So even if you get angry in the game, you won't take revenge in real life, right?"

"…Relax." Valerius rolled his eyes. "I don't need to take revenge on players in real life."

Even as he said it, he found her question strange.

What was she planning?

Was she thinking of targeting Bronya?

If so, she was underestimating him. As long as no one cheated, whoever got eliminated was fair game.

"Good. That's reassuring."

Satisfied, Yae Miko nodded and handed over four coins.

"I'll take the AK47 and grenades."

"Pleasure doing business."

Valerius handed over the weapon and explosives, then asked curiously, "Why not choose the M416?"

"Heh. Don't you think this one has more of a bandit vibe?"

That left Valerius speechless.

He could only conclude—this fox really did have the soul of a bandit.

With the transaction complete, Valerius was ready to send her off. He still had business to do, and her presence prevented his island from moving.

"Wait." Yae Miko raised a hand. "I need to test it first. What if you sold me something faulty?"

"…Fine. Go ahead."

Valerius walked off to sit nearby. Unlimited ammo anyway—she could test all she wanted.

Ignoring him, Yae Miko moved to an open area, raised the rifle, and fired.

"Tat-tat-tat-tat—!"

With unlimited ammo, she held down the trigger, the gunfire echoing nonstop.

"That's enough."

Even Valerius couldn't take it anymore. In the open sky, the noise was unbearable.

Lowering the gun, Yae Miko walked back and stopped about ten steps away from him.

"Well, it's good… but without a target, how do I know if my aim is accurate?"

"That's easy. Go find another player to test it on."

With her mobility and firepower, she now had a massive advantage.

Even with poor aim, she could improve through combat.

After all, ranged weapons were rare in this game. Right now, she was one of the strongest players.

"Hehe…"

Yae Miko covered her mouth and laughed softly.

"No need. There's already a perfect target right here."

She raised the AK47—and aimed it directly at Valerius.

"…What?"

Valerius's lips twitched. This fox was seriously pointing a gun at him?

"What are you trying to do?"

"Hehe… something this good should belong to me alone, don't you think… Su—Ze?"

Now he understood.

So this whole conversation earlier… was a setup.

No wonder she was so concerned about whether he'd retaliate in real life.

She had been planning this all along.
