"Hi," Zee greeted softly.
Jonathan answered without looking over, his voice sounding flat and cold. "Hi."
Sifa and Heri exchanged glances for a moment. There was a strange vibe between these two. They knew something was wrong.
"Zee, you're ready, right?" Sifa asked, her tone cheerful.
Zee only offered a thin smile and nodded, a smile that felt forced.
"Okay, good! Please go ahead and train. We'll leave you two to it," Heri said quickly. He hurriedly pulled Sifa's hand away, leaving Zee and Jonathan with the heavy tension hanging in the air.
Jonathan, still holding the barbell, turned slightly toward Zee. His expression was flat, almost emotionless, as if nothing extraordinary had happened the night before.
"Are you ready to train?" he asked in a cold, no-nonsense voice.
"Y-yes," Zee answered nervously. She didn't even dare to meet Jonathan's eyes, focusing instead on her training shoes.
