Chapter 14 - body guard - interesting!!

Fang looked at Park Hyun.

"So what's the job?"

Park Hyun leaned back in his chair.

Then sighed.

"A bodyguard."

Fang raised an eyebrow slightly.

"Bodyguard?"

"Hm."

"For who?"

Park Hyun rubbed his forehead.

"A rich idiot."

"..."

"A spoiled brat."

"..."

"A prideful brat."

"..."

"A walking headache."

Park Hyun finally finished.

"Fifteen years old."

Silence.

Fang stared at him.

"You want me to babysit."

"Bodyguard."

"Babysit."

"Bodyguard."

"Same thing."

"The schedule is simple, nine in the morning until two in the afternoon, but sometimes it may be late."

Fang listened quietly.

"Pick him up."

"Take him to school."

"Make sure he doesn't skip classes."

"Wait until school ends."

"Bring him back safely."

Fang frowned.

"That's it?"

"Hm."

"Pay?"

Park Hyun held up four fingers.

"Four hundred thousand yuan a month."

Silence.

Even Fang paused.

"...What?"

Park Hyun smirked.

"Two hundred thousand base salary."

"Hm."

"Performance bonus."

"Hm."

"Safety bonus."

"Hm."

"And if the brat survives the month without getting kidnapped, more bonuses."

Fang stared at him.

"Kidnapped?"

Park Hyun nodded.

"The family is rich."

"How rich."

"Rich enough that people occasionally try stealing their son."

Fang thought for a moment.

Then old memories surfaced.

Protection missions.

Extraction missions.

Rescue operations.

Gunfire.

Explosives.

One mission alone had earned him over one hundred million before.

Compared to that

Protecting a spoiled teenager sounded relaxing.

A small smile appeared on his face.

Park Hyun immediately looked nervous.

"...Why are you smiling?"

"Hm?"

"You only smile when something dangerous sounds fun."

Fang ignored him.

"I'll take it."

"I know, of course, you will."

Park Hyun opened a drawer.

Then handed over a folder.

Inside were documents.

Photos.

Schedules.

Contact information.

The boy's name.

Kang Min Woo.

Age fifteen.

Student.

Only heir of a large company.

Fang flipped through the pages casually.

Then stopped at the school information.

"A public school?"

"Hm."

Fang looked surprised.

"Did they want him to experience normal life?"

Park Hyun laughed.

"And it failed, right?"

"He must bully students as well as poor grades, Multiple complaints, several suspensions narrowly avoided, teachers exhausted, Parents exhausted, Classmates exhausted."

"Right??"

"...Interesting, how you are so sharp?"

"I am just."

Park Hyun handed him another envelope.

Inside was cash.

Ten thousand yuan.

"What's this?"

"Buy a black suit."

"Yeah, now it becomes professional."

"Exactly."

"Hm."

Then Park Hyun handed him a business card.

"That's the father's number."

Fang glanced at it.

Chairman Kang.

The name alone sounded expensive.

As Fang put the card away, a thought appeared.

"How do you know all this?"

Park Hyun froze slightly.

Then smiled.

"I know people."

But Fang noticed it.

The breathing.

The eyes.

Fang suddenly asked,

"How are you connected to them?"

Park Hyun laughed.

"How are you so sharp?"

Fang stood up.

"Because everyone else is dull."

"...That's a very annoying answer."

Fang walked toward the exit.

The bell above the door rang softly.

Before leaving, Park Hyun called out one last time.

"One warning."

Fang stopped.

"The father is fine."

"Hm."

"The mother is fine."

"Hm."

"The son is the problem."

Fang nodded.

"Good."

Park Hyun blinked.

"What part of that sounds good?"

Fang opened the door.

"If the son is the problem..."

A faint smile appeared on his face.

"...then my job becomes easier."

For some reason

Park Hyun suddenly felt sorry for Kang Min Woo.

Fang looked at Park Hyun.

"I'll review the contract at home."

Park Hyun nodded.

"Fair."

"If I want changes, I'll tell you."

"Hm."

Fang held up the folder.

"Give me your number."

Park Hyun froze.

Then narrowed his eyes.

"...How do you know contracts like this can be negotiated?"

Fang looked at him calmly.

A faint smile appeared.

"I am related."

Silence.

Park Hyun stared at him for several seconds.

Then, dramatically say

"You really know how to mess with people, you related to what?!"

He genuinely asked

"Life."

"That's not an answer."

"It was enough."

Park Hyun clicked his tongue.

"Annoying bastard."

Still, he reached into his pocket and handed over a black business card.

Unlike normal cards, this one had almost nothing written on it.

Just a name.

A phone number.

Nothing else.

Park Hyun pointed at it seriously.

"Do me a favor."

"What?"

"Don't show this card to anyone."

Fang glanced at it.

"Hm."

Fang put it into his pocket.

Then, Fang walked out of the convenience store.

The bell above the door rang softly.

Park Hyun watched him leave.

...

11:07 AM.

Fang returned to the apartment.

The moment he entered

A smell stopped him.

Fresh food.

Fang blinked once.

He was the one cooking for days; he awakened here.

He removed his shoes and walked inside.

Seo Yuna stood in the kitchen.

Simple dishes sat on the table.

Nothing fancy.

But clearly homemade.

For a moment, Fang just looked at them.

Seo Yuna noticed immediately.

"What?"

"...You cooked."

Seo Yuna looked away.

"Yeah, I am fine now, it feels strange to say, but you worked hard."

Fang nodded.

"Hm."

The three quietly sat together.

For a while

Only the sound of eating filled the apartment.

No shouting.

No arguments.

Just breakfast.

A very ordinary scene.

Yet somehow it still felt unfamiliar to Fang.

Noah happily ate while talking nonstop.

Meanwhile, Fang silently finished everything on his plate.

After eating

Noah grabbed her new school books and ran into the bedroom.

"I'll read!"

The apartment became quiet again.

Seo Yuna and Fang sat across from each other.

Fang opened the contract folder.

Seo Yuna immediately noticed.

"What are these papers?"

"Job contract"

"Did you find another job?"

Fang nodded.

"Yeah."

"What kind?"

"Bodyguard."

Seo Yuna blinked.

"...Bodyguard?"

"Hm."

"How much does it pay?"

Fang paused briefly.

Then answered.

"10000 Yuan for a black suit and two hundred thousand yuan base salary for 6 hours of work."

Silence.

Seo Yuna stared at him.

"No."

"Hm?"

"No way."

She pointed at him.

"Every time you leave this apartment, you come back with money."

Fang looked confused.

"That's bad?"

"That's not the point."

She rubbed her forehead.

"Yesterday you came back with 10 thousand."

"Hm."

"Today you come back with another + job."

"Hm."

Seo Yuna became speechless.

"What kind of bodyguard job gives money before you even start?"

"Apparently this one."

Fang calmly continued reading.

Seo Yuna looked suspicious again.

Meanwhile, Fang reviewed every page carefully.

Responsibilities.

Termination conditions.

Everything looked clean.

No traps.

Flexible too.

After several minutes, Fang closed the folder.

"Looks fine."

Seo Yuna frowned.

"What looks fine?"

"The contract."

He handed it over.

She read through it quietly but did not understand clearly.

A few minutes later, she returned it.

"You're really reviewing it?"

"Hm."

"You know how to do that?"

"I've seen enough papers."

That answer somehow raised more questions than it answered.

Seo Yuna sighed.

Then suddenly asked

"So you're leaving the warehouse job?"

Fang stopped.

For a moment

He remembered Min Jae.

The workers.

The coffee breaks.

The manager is yelling.

The middle-aged worker asks about Noah's school.

I didn't ask what her daughter's age is or which school she goes to

Then Fang shook his head.

"No."

Seo Yuna looked surprised.

"What?"

"I'll keep that job too."

"Why?"

"This one pays more."

"Hm."

"Then why keep carrying boxes all night?"

Fang leaned back slightly.

The warehouse was noisy.

Annoying.

Full of strange people.

Yet...

For some reason, he liked it.

So he answered honestly.

"I just want to do that."

Seo Yuna stared at him.

After a moment, she asked,

"When do you even sleep?"

"After 2 PM."

"...You're going to collapse one day."

Fang looked genuinely confused.

"If I collapse, I'll sleep."

Talking to this man was impossible.

From the bedroom

Noah suddenly ran out holding a book.

"Dad!"

Fang looked up.

"What?"

"Can you read this for me?"

Fang immediately held out his hand.

"Bring it here."

Noah happily ran over.

Seo Yuna quietly watched them.

Without realizing it

A small smile appeared on her face.

For the first time in years,

the apartment felt less like a battlefield.

And a little more like a home.
