When he turned around, Scott's eyes narrowed at the figure standing in front of him.
The man was clad in reinforced armor, worn over a two-toned bodysuit that stretched tight across his bulky frame. His gauntlets looked thick, mechanical, and dangerous. But what truly caught Scott's attention was the mask — bright yellow, patterned with net-like black lines, and unmistakably retro.
It was familiar. Too familiar.
Scott tilted his head. "You look… familiar. Did we meet before or… are you just another guy with a weird cosplay obsession?" he asked with a squint, already getting a bad feeling.
The man didn't respond right away. Instead, he lifted his fist — slow, deliberate — and with what Scott could only assume was a smirk beneath the mask, he let out a yell like a war cry.
"Yeah, I'm the fucking Shocker!"
Before Scott could even process it, a concussive shockwave burst from the gauntlet, slamming into him like a truck. The air around him exploded with pressure.
BOOM!
Scott was launched backward across the warehouse like a ragdoll, crashing into a steel support beam with a painful thud before collapsing onto the cold floor. He groaned, holding his back as he sat up.
"Damn it… that hurt a lot," he hissed, wincing.
That's when he noticed it—his gun, knocked clean from his grip, had skidded across the floor and now lay in the middle of the warehouse, far out of reach.
"Great," he muttered. "Of course."
Scott looked up and narrowed his eyes at the armored villain now walking toward him. "You gotta be kidding me… Why the hell did you decide to change your suit now of all times?"
The armor had thrown him off. That yellow mask was the only thing that gave it away.
Hearing that, Shocker let out a short, mocking laugh.
"If changing my suit messes with Spider-Man's head like it did to you, maybe I'll give him a little wardrobe surprise too," he said casually, like he hadn't just blasted Scott through a wall. He didn't even raise his guard—clearly not seeing Scott as a threat.
And that pissed Scott off.
"This bastard's looking down on me," he thought bitterly, his jaw tightening.
Fueled by that fury, Scott lunged forward. He moved so fast he was practically a blur, crossing the warehouse floor in a flash and smashing his fist into Shocker's face with enough force to send him stumbling back a few feet.
Even though Scott held back—knowing full well how strong he was now—the impact was still bone-rattling.
Shocker recovered quickly and steadied himself, his tone shifting from amusement to seething annoyance.
"You little bitch," he growled.
He raised both gauntlets and fired another blast of vibrating energy, but this time Scott was ready. He dodged, rolling to the side, then closed the gap again and went for another punch.
But Shocker blocked it. This time, he was ready too.
Scott barely had a second to react before Shocker struck him square in the face with a gauntleted punch—amplified by a focused shockwave. The impact sent Scott flying again, crashing against a stack of metal crates with a metallic clang.
Shocker let out a cruel laugh as Scott pulled himself back up.
"I heard what you said about this being your debut," Shocker said, stepping closer, his voice mocking. "Sadly for you… this'll also be your end."
Scott wiped the blood from his lip and slowly stood up, adjusting his stance as he faced him again.
"You know," Scott began, cracking his neck, "I always thought your name—'Shocker'—was kind of misleading."
Shocker paused.
"I mean, it sounds like you're some kinda electric guy. Lightning bolts. Crackling fingers. Pikachu with an attitude. But you? Nah."
Scott shrugged with mock sympathy, then snapped his fingers like he just had a brilliant idea.
"Maybe it's time for a rebrand. I got it—how about… the Vibrator?"
There was a beat of silence.
Then Shocker stiffened.
"What did you just call me?" he snarled, voice rising.
Scott smirked.
"You heard me. The Vibrator."
The effect was immediate. Shocker's posture stiffened with rage, and the next shockwave he fired was packed with fury.
