Jounouchi's LP is on the brink. I have to do something.
"I activate the Spell Dark Magic Burst Break! As long as Dark Magician Girl is on my field, I destroy all face-up monsters on my opponent's field!"
"I'm wiping out all of Aoi's monsters!"
"What?!" Kaiba snapped his head up.
Dark Magician Girl's wand flashed with a vivid pink glow.
"Go, Dark Magician Girl—Dark Magic Burst Break!"
A shockwave of magic detonated across Aoi's field. Her Darklords were blown away in an instant.
Kaiba clicked his tongue. "Tch…"
Aoi didn't even blink.
"Yugi, nice move. But I'll trigger Darklord Asmodeus's effect—when it's destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, I Special Summon Asmode Token and Tis Token!"
As Asmodeus shattered, it split into two smaller fallen shapes—one red, one blue.

"Each token has a different protection," Aoi said coolly. "Asmode Token can't be destroyed by effects, and Tis Token can't be destroyed by battle."
Yami Yugi's eyes shifted—calculating—then he looked toward Kaiba's side of the field.
"Battle!"
"Dark Magician Girl attacks Kaiba's Spear Dragon. Dark Magician attacks Kaiba's Archfiend Soldier!"
Kaiba took the hits with a scowl.
Kaiba LP 4000 → 3400
His elevator rose, hovering just under the 3000 mark.
"Tch!"
"I set one card. End my turn." (Hand: 2)
Getting big LP swings in this format won't be easy…
"My turn—draw!"
Just like I thought. Kaiba and Aoi opened by targeting me.
"I Normal Summon Red-Eyes Iron Knight—Gearfried in Attack Position!"

"And now I flip my face-down card—The Shackle Bomb!"
Yami Yugi's lips curved faintly.
"What—Gearfried with Shackle Bomb?!" Aoi's expression tightened for the first time.
"So you know how nasty this combo is," Jounouchi grinned.
"Shackle Bomb equips to my monster and boosts its ATK by 500!"
He slammed it onto Gearfried.
Red-Eyes Iron Knight—Gearfried (ATK 2300 / DEF 1600)
"And now—Gearfried's effect! Once per turn, I destroy an Equip Card on him to destroy one Spell/Trap on the field!"
"Aoi—I'm destroying your set card!"
Aoi's eyes narrowed. "You're underestimating me."
She snapped her card open.
"I activate Trap Darklord's Debauchery—I send one Darklord monster from my hand or face-up field to the Graveyard, then destroy one card on the field!"
A black-winged chill spread across Gearfried's position.
"I destroy Red-Eyes Iron Knight—Gearfried!"
Feathers swirled like blades—then a skeletal reaper-like Darklord manifested in front of Gearfried.
But Yami Yugi cut in immediately.
"Not so fast! I activate Magician's Navigation—from my Graveyard!"
Aoi's eyes widened. "From the Graveyard—?!"
"As long as I control Dark Magician, I can banish Magician's Navigation that wasn't sent to the Graveyard this turn, then target one face-up Spell/Trap you control—its effects are negated until the end of this turn!"
"I negate Darklord's Debauchery!"
The black feathers scattered, blown away like ash. The reaper vanished.
"Tch!" Aoi hissed.
"Thanks, Yugi!" Jounouchi barked.
"I'm keeping my promise as a duelist," Yami Yugi replied—steady as steel.
Jounouchi wasn't finished.
"Now—since Shackle Bomb was destroyed while it was an Equip Card, it triggers! I target one card on the field and destroy it!"
Kaiba's eyes narrowed. "It destroys twice…?"
Otogi whistled. "That combo is way stronger than I expected."
Mai pumped a fist. "Nice, Jounouchi!"
"I destroy Tis Token!"
The blue token popped—gone.
"And now—battle!"
"Red-Eyes Iron Knight—Gearfried attacks Asmode Token!"
Gearfried crashed into the red token. With the earlier negation, Aoi couldn't force her destruction line—and the exchange wiped out what remained.
Aoi's field went empty.
"Alright!" Jounouchi shouted. "I cleared Aoi's monsters!"
"Good work," Yami Yugi said.
"End my turn." (Hand: 3)
Anzu exhaled. "It feels like things flipped—now Kaiba and Aoi's monsters are gone."
Aoi glanced sideways at Kaiba and spoke softly.
"Seto. It's about time. You can attack the way you want now."
Kaiba's mouth curved upward. "Exactly."
Yami Yugi's eyes sharpened.
So Aoi deliberately didn't finish Jounouchi earlier… She let us and Jounouchi clear her field so Kaiba could decide the final pairing. She planned this?
"My turn—draw!"
"I activate Quick-Play Spell Mystical Space Typhoon! Yugi—I'm destroying your set card!"
A cyclone ripped across Yami Yugi's back row.
His set Spellbinding Circle was shredded to pieces.
"Then I set one card."
"And I activate Card of Demise! I draw until I have five cards in hand—then after five turns, I discard my entire hand!"
Kaiba didn't hesitate for even a heartbeat.
"Next, I activate Ancient Rules! I Special Summon one Level 5 or higher Normal Monster from my hand!"
"Come forth—Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"
A white dragon roared into existence.
Blue-Eyes White Dragon (ATK 3000 / DEF 2500)
"And I activate Monster Reborn! Return—Spear Dragon!"
Spear Dragon (ATK 1900 / DEF 0)
"Battle!"
"Blue-Eyes White Dragon attacks the incompetent's Red-Eyes Iron Knight—Gearfried—Burst Stream of Destruction!"
A beam of white annihilated Gearfried.
Jounouchi couldn't endure it.

"Damn it—!" Jounouchi shouted as his elevator shot to the topmost layer.
Kaiba's eyes moved without emotion.
"And now—Spear Dragon, direct attack on Aoi."
Aoi didn't flinch. She accepted it as if it were a scheduled appointment.
Aoi LP 1300 → 0
Her elevator surged upward beside Jounouchi's, reaching the top.
Aoi's gaze met Kaiba's one last time—calm, clean, and decisive.
"Seto… see you in the finals."
With that, the "battle royale" had chosen its victims—exactly as she'd calculated.
