They were sucked at the bottom of the lake, where at the end of the whirlpool people saw a big hole, which seem to be smashed opened by few fighting crystal fish.
This can be consider the reason for the whirlpool appearance. They can only hope for that empty area to be filled with water.
Before they can have any hope for the whirlpool to stop. Till then they had no other choice but to maintain the barrier to survive.
Suddenly, a loud gasp which seem to be echoing inside everyone mind catch everyone attention.
Then they saw a stupidly brave cultivator's moving towards the small hole. Brave yes ... Stupid also yes...

She immediately put it inside one storage ring and didn't put anymore. As she physically can't eat all of these fishes.
Ruo senling "I was really hopping to find one with purple rings." She sign disappointedly.

Ruo senling "ouch-- do you mean their is really one with purple rings" she asked with sparkling eyes.
Even both Shi Yixue and shi mingxi ear were focus on there conversation. Only for Ruo Mingjian to just flick her forehead without answering her.
All three of them were greatly disappointed by his silence. Meanwhile, Ruo Mingjian who manage to take his revenge for being ignored previously raise his chin proudly.
As the collecting the corpse mission came to end. Shi Yixue turn toward Ruo Mingjian and hesitate in speaking.
Ruo senling "what happened. What do you want to say " she who notice shi Yixue hesitation spoke.

Her sudden diversion of the topic made all three of them curious. As they force her to speak clearly.

He had become annoyed by her repeated denial of telling them the truth. Even he's burning with curiousity now.
Shi Yixue "well I think when the opening was about to be completely sealed I saw the inside of that opening."
Everyone lean closer towards her as they fully intersted in whatever she had seen inside the opening.
Shi Yixue "I think the inside of opening resembles a tunnel covered with ruins I guess, then once again I think it's properly just illusion."
Now, everyone attention had shift toward what's inside of the sealed opening. They really want to check what's inside.
All of them are young and impulsive. Well Ruo Mingjian can't be consider that young but he's still pretty impulsive.
Ruo senling "what if we create a tiny small hole just peek inside its won't cause any trouble right right.."
She really want to see what's inside but at the same time she's afraid that something bad will happened to them.
So, she was quite hesitated about the idea. Shi mingxi although young was the most clear headed person present in the group.
Shi mingxi "nope, don't even think about. Do you forget that opening had caused many deaths. Can you take any responsibility if that tiny hole don't end up cracking the whole seal.
We are already at the lakebed. This time we won't have any chance of survival if another whirlpool appear. We can just wait for death it's better to go back and improve ourselves rather then taking unnecessary risk just to satisfy curiousity."
After being scolded by her all three of them obediently listen to her and directly head back to the surface.
