I close the HUD in time to see Split Fang drop his stance.

Both daggers stay near his hips. One foot slides back, the toe pressed against the floor, while his torso leans over the front leg. The posture looks like a runner waiting for the signal, except there's no track in front of him.

There's Veric.

Split Fang explodes forward.
