Chapter 42 - Chapter 42. The Utopian Conference

"Don't worry. The Gastrea Virus inside those children's bodies can be controlled, as long as they are not allowed to use too much of the power brought by the virus," Sylvar Crowe said.

Haruto Sato immediately grasped the key point.

"That means they will not become Gastrea until they reach a certain threshold," he said. "But if that threshold is exceeded, they will transform into Gastrea, right?"

Sylvar Crowe hesitated slightly.

Answering this question might affect certain things.

But after a moment, he still told the truth.

"As long as the concentration of the virus inside their bodies does not rise, they will be fine for the rest of their lives."

Haruto Sato fell silent for a moment.

Then he spoke again.

"If the concentration of the virus inside their bodies increases, then they will have brought the Gastrea Virus into Utopia."

"Think about it."

"That world is only one Earth."

"With all the power humanity possesses, they still have not been able to eliminate the Gastrea Virus."

"If you bring that virus to this world, what will happen then?"

"Do you want to destroy Utopia?"

"You're crazy."

After hearing these words, Sylvar Crowe felt a surge of anger rise in his chest.

But what could he do?

He could not kill Haruto Sato.

And from Haruto Sato's perspective, these concerns were reasonable.

So Sylvar Crowe said calmly,

"I just want to save those poor children."

"If you don't agree, I will go find the elves."

"As their savior, I can ask them to raise the children."

"They will not refuse."

Haruto Sato suddenly raised his voice.

"Are you crazy?"

Only then did he realize something.

Utopia was not Sylvar Crowe's only option.

In fact, Utopia needed Sylvar Crowe.

Sylvar Crowe did not need Utopia.

Haruto Sato hesitated.

Then Sylvar Crowe continued speaking.

"Science in that world has failed to solve the Gastrea Virus."

"But this world has magic."

These words were like the final argument.

Haruto Sato found that he could not refute them.

After a moment, he spoke.

"I need to discuss this matter with the others before making a decision."

"Utopia belongs to everyone."

Sylvar Crowe nodded.

"That's fine."

"If you don't accept it, I will ask the elves to take them instead."

"And it would be better to hurry."

"They are very busy on the other side."

"Extremely busy."

"They do not have much free time."

After speaking, Sylvar Crowe sat quietly.

Haruto Sato immediately contacted the other leaders of Utopia and asked them to assemble.

While waiting, Haruto Sato began thinking about a solution.

The man sitting in front of him controlled the Gate.

If he offended him, how could Utopia benefit from future opportunities in other worlds?

After thinking for a moment, Haruto Sato spoke.

"Does that world need any supplies?"

"Regardless of whether this meeting succeeds or not, sending some supplies should not be a problem."

Sylvar Crowe thought about the current situation in Utopia.

Utopia's population was only around one hundred thousand.

Most of their supplies had been brought from their original Earth.

How many resources could they really have?

They were probably even short on iron.

Sylvar Crowe spoke slowly.

"Tap water."

"Some clothes."

"There is already one ton of food over there."

"That should be enough for them to eat for now."

"It would also be good to send a few people as teachers."

"They can educate those children so they do not learn bad habits."

"There is no need to transport tents."

"They can buy those things directly in that world."

Haruto Sato immediately replied,

"No problem."

He quickly contacted the logistics warehouse.

Soon afterward, two large trucks began loading supplies.

Then Haruto Sato said with a flattering tone,

"We will immediately send some daily necessities over."

"These are small matters."

"I can still make decisions about these things."

Sylvar Crowe simply replied,

"Mm."

Then he sat quietly in the chair.

He picked up the teacup.

He slowly drank tea.

Ten minutes later.

Haruto Sato received another call.

Then he stood up.

He walked out of the office together with Sylvar Crowe.

They headed toward the meeting location.

They arrived at a huge open square.

Because Utopia had been established less than a month and a half ago, there was no large conference hall.

Such buildings were considered unnecessary luxuries for now.

Countless people were sitting in the square.

In front of them was a simple platform.

Haruto Sato walked onto the platform.

He looked down at the crowd.

He scanned the faces below.

After confirming that almost everyone had arrived, he began speaking.

"I will speak frankly."

"There is a new world behind the Gate."

"That world is rapidly being destroyed because of the abuse of genetic technology."

"But now, in that world, there are hundreds or even thousands of little girls."

"They are being rejected and abused by the people around them."

Haruto Sato paused briefly.

Then he continued.

"Lord Sylvar Crowe, who controls the Gate, wishes to save these children."

"He plans to connect the two worlds and bring those children to Utopia."

"This idea also fits the name of Utopia."

"A peaceful ideal land."

"But Utopia belongs to everyone."

"So I would like to hear everyone's opinions."

Standing beside the platform, Sylvar Crowe thought silently to himself:

It seems he still takes me seriously.

The way he explained the situation is closer to my own plan.

Even though he opposed my proposal earlier, he did not say anything bad about me in public.

Immediately, discussions broke out across the square.

At that moment, a young man suddenly stood up.

"Why shouldn't we save them?"

"Think about it."

"If we were the ones trapped in such a desperate situation…"

"Wouldn't we also hope that someone would come to save us?"

As soon as he finished speaking, many of the young people present began shouting in agreement.

They talked loudly about saving people.

This was not surprising.

Most of the people who had chosen to come to this new world were young people.

They possessed strong wills and courage.

Of course, there were also some wealthy individuals present.

But those people were not stupid.

They knew exactly who controlled the Gate.

They knew exactly who possessed power.

They were fully aware that the man standing on the platform was like a humanoid nuclear missile.

If they tried to oppose him now, it would be meaningless.

Even if Sylvar Crowe did not kill them directly, he could easily make their lives miserable afterward.

Furthermore, ever since Sylvar Crowe established diplomatic relations with the elves, many people had already learned about his strength.

Without using firearms.

Using only magic.

He had challenged a giant dragon alone.

He had defeated it.

He had captured it alive.

Then he had turned it into his personal mount.

What kind of power was that?

Perhaps it was not as destructive as a nuclear bomb.

But a nuclear bomb could not hit him either.

Sylvar Crowe possessed space magic.

And now the Gate had also been completely controlled.

The possibilities of other worlds were endless.

If they could discover a world where humans could extend their lifespan, that would be extremely valuable for wealthy people.

Under the encouragement of the young man, the crowd gradually reached a consensus.

Bring the children to Utopia.

Of course.

This was only the appearance of things.

Five minutes later.

The people who truly held decision-making power were meeting inside a private conference room.

There were ten of them.

The scene was somewhat similar to the Knights of the Round Table.

These ten people voted.

The vote concerned whether Utopia should accept the group of little girls.

Eight people voted in favor.

Two people abstained.

None of them voted against.

The reason was very simple.

They all understood Sylvar Crowe's strength.

They also understood that the Gate was in his hands.

Was there any point in opposing him?

There was none.

Utopia might survive without many things.

But Utopia could not exist without Sylvar Crowe.

Everyone present was intelligent.

Who would dare to vote against this?

Even if they personally believed the plan was dangerous, they would only abstain.

They would not vote against it.

And so, in just two or three minutes, the fate of hundreds or even thousands of ten-year-old girls was decided.

Soon afterward, the ten leaders returned to the square.

They ordered their subordinates to shout loudly.

They wanted the cheers to sound passionate.

They wanted the cheers to sound sincere.

They wanted Sylvar Crowe, the controller of the Gate, to see their support clearly.
