After several days of failed attempts to develop Ice Magic, Cedric decided to seek out this world's equivalent of a certain mad scientist.
His target was Sally.
Currently, she had two subordinates operating near Naan.
Riding his Nimbus 2000, Cedric followed traces of magical power toward a snowy mountain.
"Where are you? You filthy mud freak and that snow brat."
Inside a valley, two men stood beside a strange jar-like machine.
"Once this job is done, we'll live like kings. First, I'll buy a few maids, then..."
The bespectacled man grinned lecherously.
"Brother, can they be my friends?" the other man asked innocently.
"Of course. I'll buy a few for you too."
The black-haired man adjusted his glasses, releasing a surge of mana.
"Neige, someone's here."
"Brother, can that person be my friend?"
"Sure. As long as you defeat him."
"Snow Magic: Snow Cry."
Chains of snow and wind shot forward, aiming to bind Cedric midair.
"Tree Magic: Tree World Descent. Hell's Chaos."
Massive trees erupted from the ground, instantly capturing Neige.
As for the other man, he was impaled without mercy.
"Brother! Brother!" Neige screamed in panic.
"Snow Magic: Snow Friends."
Several small snowmen appeared, but their mana was immediately drained by the trees, collapsing into lifeless white piles.
"Pathetic. No will of your own. Just a walking corpse."
Cedric bound the powerless Neige and retrieved a Communication Magic Tool from the corpse.
Moments later, Spatial Magic activated.
A girl in a white robe appeared.
"You already gathered the required mana?"
It was Sally.
Short black hair, simple clothing beneath her robe, and eyes filled with obsession behind large glasses.
"Sally, let's make a deal."
She tilted her head, "You know my name? A deal? Are you offering your body?"
Her tongue lightly brushed her lips as excitement filled her gaze.
Cedric smirked slightly, "As long as you don't dissect me, I'm open to negotiation."
Sally immediately grew more interested.
She remembered the tree sample in her lab. The vitality within it had fascinated her.
"Fine. But first, you need to let me run a test."
She pulled out an oversized syringe.
Without hesitation, she plunged it into Cedric's body.
A powerful paralytic spread instantly.
Even an elephant wouldn't survive that dose.
Cedric's body went completely still.
"Perfect."
Sally hoisted him onto her shoulder and opened a spatial portal.
Inside her laboratory, Cedric was placed onto an operating table.
Sally removed her robe, revealing her slender figure, completely focused on her experiment.
Scalpel in hand, she began her work with excitement.
When Cedric regained consciousness, he felt weak.
"So tired..."
He sat up and noticed rows of test tubes filled with strange liquids and tissue samples.
Sally walked over, "Do you remember me?"
Cedric glanced at her calmly, "Put your clothes on. And wipe your mouth properly next time."
Sally froze for a moment before her face flushed slightly.
Cedric suddenly realized something worse.
He wasn't wearing anything.
And there was a massive wound across his abdomen.
"You actually cut me open?"
Sally's face turned even redder.
"I did it for research."
Cedric sighed and put on some clothes.
Looking at her expression, he couldn't bring himself to get angry.
"Licht is looking for you. You should go," Sally said.
Cedric glanced at the test tubes around the room.
Yeah... she definitely didn't keep her promise.
He chose not to think too deeply about what she had taken.
After navigating the base, Cedric arrived in a large chamber.
At the center stood Patolli, known publicly as Licht.
"You want to join the Eye of the Midnight Sun?"
"Not exactly. I just think the Clover Kingdom needs change."
Patolli's eyes narrowed, "Change? Explain."
Cedric spoke calmly, "This country divides people based on magic power. That isn't entirely wrong. The real problem is the royal system.
I want to overturn that system. A world where everyone is equal. No nobles. No commoners. Just people with rights."
Patolli fell silent, considering his words.
"And your purpose here?"
"I hit a dead end in my magic research. I need Sally's help."
"What kind of magic?"
"I'm trying to combine Wind Magic and Water Magic into Ice Magic."
Patolli's expression shifted slightly, "You possess multiple attributes?"
After a long discussion, Patolli seemed satisfied.
Cedric wasn't a typical Magic Knight.
He was useful.
Later, Sally returned with results.
"I need time to analyze your idea. But your body is fascinating."
She adjusted her glasses.
"You have three types of magic coexisting."
Her gaze became increasingly intense.
Cedric felt a slight chill.
At her request, he left behind a sample of his vital essence infused with mana.
Using his teleportation magic, Cedric returned to the Black Bulls base.
His wound had mostly healed thanks to his strong physique, but losing blood and energy left him drained.
Noticing this, Charmy Pappitson began cooking meals to "replenish" him.
In her mind, Cedric must have overexerted himself because of Noelle.
Every time she gave him that knowing look, Cedric felt like hiding.
"Finally recovered. Damn that woman, Sally."
Lying on his bed, Cedric noticed something unusual.
The Demon Blood Stone had fully absorbed enough magic.
It began floating in the air, veins of red light pulsing across its surface.
Cedric cut his finger, letting his blood drip onto it.
The stone absorbed it instantly.
Cedric groaned, "Great. I just recovered, and now I'm drained again."
