Chapter: The Call to Arms and the Unbreakable Egg
The Aftermath of Battle
The forest was quiet.
Too quiet.
The western tribes had buried their dead beneath the ancient trees, their bodies wrapped in cloth woven from the bark of the Fona's sacred grove.
The spiritual ritual had lasted three daysthree days of song, of dance, of whispers to the land, asking it to carry their fallen into the next world.
Amahle stood at the edge of the clearing, her violet eyes scanning the horizon. The Jakudo had retreated, but she knew, they would return.
And when they did, they would not come as scouts.
They would come as an army.
She then closed her eyes, reaching out with her mind, not to the Fona and not to the spirits, but to Var'ek.
Their link was faint, a thread of cosmic energy that connected them across the vastness of Prime Earth. But it was enough.
She focused, weaving her thoughts into the message.
"Hey.. Var'ek…. Can you here me? "
The words flowed like water, carrying the images of the battle, the Jakudo's ambush, the tribes' defense, the red-tailed monkeys' rage.
"We have been attacked. Not by the common beasts we've encountered … but by reptilian hunters. They are cunning. Fast and Stronger than any creature we have faced in our current state. And they learn... Very quickly ."
She paused, her mind searching for the right words.
"They will return. And we cannot face them alone, unless I break the rules and break the restrictions placed on us, but that would get us into serious trouble, so when you receive this, get the tribes ready as soon as possible before it's too late.. ."
Then, she severed the link.
The message was sent and hundreds of miles away, in the eastern lands of Prime Africa, Var'ek stood in the training grounds of the Axum tribes, his dark robes whipping in the cold wind.
He was sparring with the strongest of the Axum warriors, a young man named Tesfaye, his body hardened by years of survival in the wilds of the mystical land , his eyes burning with determination.
Var'ek blocked a strike, deflecting Tesfaye's spear with a flick of his wrist, then countered with a swift kick to the young warrior's chest.
Tesfaye stumbled, but recovered quickly, his spear sweeping low in an attempt to trip Var'ek.
Var'ek smirked
And then
The message hit him.
His mind reeled, the images flooding his senses, the Jakudo's ambush, the tribes' desperate defense, the red-tailed monkeys' fury.
For a moment, he froze.
And Tesfaye seized his opportunity.
With a grunt, he lunged faster than the eye could easily track , his fist connecting with Var'ek's jaw with a bang, wind blowing around them from the force..
Var'ek's head snapped to the side from the strength, but he did not stumble. He did not fall.
Instead, he laughed, a deep, rich sound that echoed across the training grounds.
The other warriors paused, their eyes wide with shock.
Tesfaye froze, his hand still raised, his face pale.
"M-My lord…" he stammered, bowing his head in fear. "I, I did not mean... "
Var'ek waved a hand, rubbing his jaw with a grunt.
"Do not apologize," he said, his voice amused. "You saw an opening. You took it. That is the mark of a true warrior."
Tesfaye straightened, his pride returning.
"Then… you are not angry ?"
Var'ek's smile faded, his ancient eyes darkening as he focused on the message.
"No," he said. "But I am concerned with something else, something more dangerous.. ."
The images played in his mind, the Jakudo's speed, their strength, their unpredictable combat.
And their hunger.
Var'ek exhaled, his breath visible in the cold air.
"These are not mere beasts," he muttered. "They are hunters. And they have tasted the blood of humans ."
He turned to the gathered warriors, his voice ringing across the grounds.
"Gather the strongest among you," he commanded. "We march west soon ."
The warriors nodded, their faces set with determination.
But Var'ek was not done.
He knew that strength alone would not be enough.
The Jakudo were faster, stronger, more durable.
So the Axum warriors would have to adapt.
Var'ek led the warriors to the heart of the training grounds to an area where the cosmic density of Universe 0 was strongest.
The air here hummed with energy, the very earth seemed to be pulsing with power similar to the dense jungles and forests scattered across the continent.. .
He gestured for them to sit in a circle, then settled into a meditative position himself.
"Watch," he said, his voice calm. "And learn from my actions."
He closed his eyes, his breath slowing, his mind focusing.
And then he began to pull..
From the air.
From the earth.
From the very fabric of the energy that heavily saturated Universe 0.
Tiny particles of energy that were in shades of purple, red and gold had begun to float toward him, drawn by his will, swirling around him like a living storm.
The warriors gasped, their eyes wide with awe.
"This…" Tesfaye whispered, reaching out as if to touch the energy. "What is it?".. Face a mix of awe and confusion..."Is it the spirits of the land? " he muttered in question..
Var'ek opened his eyes, the energy absorbing into his body.
"The natural dense energy of this reality," he said. "It is the essence of our world and it's also the power that binds it, that strengthens it. And it can be used by those live with it."
Tesfaye frowned.
"Used… for what?"
Var'ek stood, his body shimmering faintly with the absorbed energy.
"For this," he said smirking , and slammed his fist into the ground.
BAM!!!
A shockwave rippled through the earth, cracking the stone beneath them.
The warriors stumbled, their eyes wide.
Var'ek smirked.
"Strength, Speed and Durability. The energy can enhance us, temporarily. But it is not easy. It requires control, Focus and Will."
He turned to them, his ancient eyes burning with intensity.
"And you will learn to wield it with time ."
The next days were brutal.
Var'ek pushed the warriors to their limits, forcing them to meditate, to focus and feel the energy around them the same way they felt the wind on the skin and to pull the energy from the world around them.
Most failed at first
Their minds wandering, getting distracted by the sounds of nature, their bodies unable to contain the energy to the extent that one warrior collapsed, gasping, his body trembling as the energy overwhelmed him.
Another screamed, his veins burning as the energy tore through him like fire.
But they did not quit.
And slowly as time goes on , they began to succeed.
Tesfaye was the first.
He closed his eyes, his breath steady, his mind clear.
And then
A flicker of purple.
A spark of red.
The energy danced around him, responding to his will.
He gritted his teeth, pulling it into his body
And roared as the energy surged through him, strengthening his muscles, sharpening his senses, filling him with a power he had never known..
Var'ek nodded, his expression approving.
"Good," he said. "But this is only the beginning."
Meanwhile elsewhere , in the heart of the Great Structure, the avatar of Prime Langa stood before a towering monolith, its surface smooth as glass, its depths pulsing with cosmic energy.
He had been busy.
For weeks, he had worked, carving into the monolith the knowledge of ages, lessons learned from countless universes, wisdom gathered from eternities of existence.
The library was not a place of books.
It was a place of truth.
The monolith was divided into sections, each containing a different facet of existence.
The Foundations of Civilization: From primitive tools to advanced cities, the rise and fall of societies, the patterns that governed their growth.
The Nature of Time: The laws that bound it, the ways it could be manipulated, the consequences of defying it.
The Secrets of Space: The void between stars, the paths between worlds, the forces that shaped the cosmos.
The Sciences of the Cosmos: The laws of physics, of energy, of life itself, explained in terms that even the simplest of minds could understand.
The Art of Healing: The knowledge of medicine, of herbs, of spirits, the ways to mend what was broken.
The Mythological Bestiary: The creatures that walked Prime Earth, those that existed now, and those that would in the future. Their strengths, their weaknesses, their roles in the balance of the world.
And then
The final section.
The History of the Previous Universe.
Here, Langa paused, his indigo aura rippling with sorrow.
He carved the story of his descendants, their rises, their falls, their wars that shattered galaxies .
The God Queen.
The Martian Sovereign.
The void that followed.
And the lessons learned.
"Never again," he whispered, his voice echoing through the chamber. "This time… it will be different it must be.. ."
Povswitch.
Universe 16: Hephaestus and the Unbreakable Egg
Two years had passed in Universe 16.
And Hephaestus was stumped.
The god of the forge had tried everything.
Every weapon he had ever created, hammers that shattered mountains, swords that cut through time, spears that pierced the heavens, he had used on the egg.
And every time, the result was the same.
The weapon was destroyed and egg?, the egg remain unharmed and not only that but worse, it had absorbed the divine energy from the weapons, growing stronger, brighter, more alive with every attempt.
But the stubbornness of the forge God was unmatched because Hephaestus had not given up, f anything, the egg's resilience had fueled his determination.
During the times between each attempt to break the egg, he would forge..
He had forged new weapons, weapons designed to kill gods them, the reasoning was simple, if the egg could withstand normal godly weapons then it required a great weapon that could hurt those who couldn't not be hurt by simple means.
The weapons forged were powerful, such as...
The Sword of Hephaestus: A blade that burned with the fire of a thousand suns, its edge sharper than time itself.
The Gauntlets of Zeus: Fists that crackled with lightning, their power enough to shatter the heavens.
The Shield of the Gods: A barrier that could withstand the wrath of Olympus itself.
"Now we shall see if this golden duck egg can withstand the mighty weapons of the Gods" Hephaestus said with sneering look on his messed up face as he grabs the first weapon and began to test each one with the confidence of a Smith who has forged thousands of great weapons.
And yet, when he tested them on the egg, the results were the same.
The Sword of Hephaestus melted like wax in his grip.. "arrgh" he grunts in pain as he threw the useless blade aside.. "maybe the gauntlets will fair better" the forge God muttered under his breath as he reaches for then...
After putting them one he turned to the egg "let's see you handle the mighty strikes of zues" he said while rushing forward and striking the egg with a double hammer fist... The lighting flashes wildly around his arms and the point of contact on the egg, making the egg shake and glow brighter, "hahahaha, yes now feel the might of the gods" he laughed, until.. The Gauntlets of Zeus cracked like glass and flaking off his hands and wrists like snow..
Hephaestus let out a frustrated sigh as he moves to the next and final weapon, the shield of the Gods, Hephaestus strapped it to his right arm then stepped forward while raising the shield as he begins running forward, charging full speed towards the egg as planned on ramming into it with the shield... The forge shook with each step as he came close to egg until... BAM!!.. The God crashes into the egg, and without fail, the egg did what the egg does and broke the shield...
"By zues this cannot be!!!? "he said in awe while looking down at the Shield of the Gods as it shattered like porcelain.
And as for the egg... the egg, pulsed, absorbing the energy, growing brighter with every failed attempt.
Hephaestus huffed as he walked back to his work space and returning to the divine drawing board...
During this time, Athena had watched her fellow god's struggle with amusement at first.
But as the months turned to years, even she had begun to wonder.
"Hephaestus," she said, stepping into the forge, her gray eyes scanning the piles of destroyed weapons. "You have been at this for two years now ."
Hephaestus grunted, wiping the soot from his brow with a rag.
"And I will continue until I crack it," he said, his voice determined. "There must be a way."
Athena sighed, shaking her head.
"Or perhaps," she said, gesturing to the egg, "it is not meant to be cracked by outside forces ."
Hephaestus paused, his hands still for the first time in years.
"What do you mean?" he asked
Athena stepped closer, her eyes studying the egg.
"It sings, Hephaestus," she said. "It has always sung. Perhaps it is not a prison… but a cradle."
Hephaestus frowned, his mind turning.
And then
A crack.
A faint sound, like the splitting of the world itself, echoed through the forge.
Athena and Hephaestus froze, their eyes locked on the egg.
A thin, golden line appeared on its surface, spreading like a fracture in glass.
Then
Another.
And another.
The egg trembled, its shell shuddering as the cracks spread, revealing the light within.
Hephaestus stumbled back, his tools clattering to the floor.
"By the forge…" he whispered, his voice hoarse.
Athena did not move. She could not.
Her eyes were locked on the egg, her mind racing.
"It is hatching," she said, her voice soft.
And then
The egg exploded.
Not with violence.
But with light.
A blinding, golden radiance erupted from the egg, filling the forge, washing over the gods like a tide.
And when the light faded
The egg was gone and in its place stood a figure.
Tall.
Slender.
Clad in armor that shimmered like liquid gold.
Its eyes opened
One gold.
One violet.
And it spoke.
"Who… am I?"
