Chapter 33 - CHAPTER THIRTY THREE - TRICK THE NOGITSUNE

FLASHBACK

"Kaito, doko ni iru no?" his mother called out, her voice echoing through the shrine. (Where are you, Kaito?)

Young Kaito ran to her side, his eyes wide with fear. "Okaasan! We're under attack! Where is Dad?"

"He's with the Bellator," his mother replied breathlessly. She grabbed his shoulders, her hands trembling. "You need to hide, Kaito. The Nogitsune are attacking."

Suddenly, the air grew cold. A thick, oily black smoke began to swirl in the center of the room, gradually taking the terrifying shape of a massive black fox with glowing eyes.

"Not my child!" his mother cried. She reached into her sleeves and pulled out several ofuda—sacred paper charms inscribed with ancient orations. With a flick of her wrist, she sent them flying through the air toward the creature.

The dark fox didn't even flinch. It let out a low, guttural growl and released a wave of dark energy. The force slammed into Kaito's mother, knocking her backward until she collapsed, unconscious.

"Anata wa watashi no chikara ni wa oyobazu, watashi no tamashī ni fureru koto mo dekinai tada no mikodesu. Totemo omoshiroidesu," the Black Fox hissed, its voice sounding like grinding stones. (You are no match for my power. You are just a shrine maiden who cannot even touch my soul. How amusing.)

"Run, Kaito!" his mother managed to groan, but Kaito was frozen in place, paralyzed by the creature's presence.

The Nogitsune stepped closer, its shadow looming over the boy. "Watashi ga sekai o seifuku suru tame ni hitsuyōna utsuwa da!" (The vessel I need to conquer the world!)

The Prophecy and the Flame

Elsewhere, Kaito sat in silence, the words of the new prophecy echoing in his mind. He had studied the ancient scrolls carefully, and the warning about the Tamawo blood was clear.

"The Nogitsune seeks the blood of a Tamawo to earn his tail of destruction. Only a union of creatures from the Philippines, Japan, and Korea can stand against him."

"But who are they?" Kaito murmured to himself.

His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of footsteps. Zac approached, a focused look on his face. "We have a lead on the Tamawo you've been searching for," Zac announced.

"Good job," Kaito replied, his voice dropping an octave. He stood up slowly, the tension in the room shifting from business to something much more personal. "And I know you've missed this."

With a slow, deliberate movement, Kaito let his bathrobe slide from his shoulders, exposing himself to Zac's lingering gaze.

"Kaito..." Zac breathed, his voice thick with a mix of surprise and desire.

Kaito stepped closer, closing the distance between them. He reached out and took Zac's hand, guiding it firmly against his body. At the touch, Kaito felt a surge of heat, his pulse quickening as Zac's fingers curled around him.

"Ooh... your hands," Kaito exhaled, a low shiver running through him.

Zac didn't need another word. He sank to his knees, his eyes never leaving Kaito's for a moment before he leaned in, his breath warm against Kaito's skin as he began to show exactly how much he had missed him.

The Astral Rescue

While the party descended into chaos, Jasmine and Ambrose remained focused on saving Alya.

"Ambrose, listen to my voice," Jasmine said firmly, her grip tightening on his hands. "Where are you? Describe the place. What do you see?"

Ambrose's eyes remained shut, but his breath hitched in wonder. He was still holding Alya's hand, his consciousness drifting elsewhere. "I don't know... but it's beautiful. Everything is so clean. There are tall buildings and high-tech transportation. This place is incredible!"

"Ambrose, focus!" Jasmine warned. "Don't be blinded by the beauty. Whatever you do, don't touch or disturb anything except Alya. Look for her thread!"

"What thread? There are threads everywhere... so many different colors," Ambrose murmured, his brow furrowing in confusion.

Jasmine turned to the family. "Dory, what is your cousin's favorite color?"

"Why?" Dory asked, her face pale with confusion.

"Pink!" Alya's mother answered quickly.

"Find the pink thread, Ambrose," Jasmine commanded.

In the spirit realm, Ambrose spotted a shimmering pink strand weaving through the ivory structures. He followed it, his pace quickening until he reached a massive, ornate gate.

"A castle?" he whispered. As he stepped toward the entrance, an old woman appeared out of thin air, blocking his path.

"You shouldn't be here," she hissed, her eyes cold. "You have no invitation from the Tamawo."

"I don't need one," Ambrose replied, standing his ground. "I'm here to rescue my friend."

The Salt Circle

At the same time, at the mansion, Akihiko and Baekhyun had entered their own astral state to reach the hidden world.

"Are they okay?" Ethan asked, pacing nervously around the unconscious bodies of his friends.

"They're fine, but you have to trust them," Catherine said. She was busy pouring a perfect circle of salt around Baekhyun and Akihiko to protect their physical forms.

"Kuya Ethan, I'm going to join them," Catherine said, her voice steady. "We have exactly two hours to roam the world of the Tamawo and find Elijah. If we haven't returned by then, you must use this flute to call us back. If you don't, our souls will be lost in that realm forever."

She sat down cross-legged between her friends and handed a wooden flute to Ethan.

"Seriously, Catherine? A flute?" Ethan cried, his voice trembling. "I don't even know how to play!"

The Key to the Kingdom

Back in the private quarters, Kaito moved with a slow, predatory grace. He hovered over Zac, who was already shivering with anticipation from Kaito's earlier ministrations.

"Please... put it inside. I'm begging you," Zac pleaded, his voice a strained whisper of desperate need.

Kaito didn't answer right away. He simply smirked, enjoying the power he held over the other man. Then, with a sudden, forceful thrust, he buried himself deep within Zac.

Zac gasped, his back arching as he struggled to take all of him. "F*ck! It's... it's so big!"

"Now," Kaito growled, his voice vibrating against Zac's skin, "you will take me to the world of the Tamawo."

"Yes... yes, my lord!" Zac cried out.

Kaito didn't let up, driving into him with a relentless, punishing rhythm. The room was filled with the sound of Zac's frantic moans, a chaotic symphony of pleasure and surrender. Kaito felt the pressure building, his entire body tightening as he reached his limit.

"I'm cumming!" Kaito warned.

"Do it inside! Please, my lord, fill me!" Zac begged, clutching at Kaito's shoulders.

"As you wish, my pet," Kaito whispered. He delivered one final, deep surge, releasing his heat deep inside Zac.

The intensity of the release left Kaito momentarily dazed, but Zac, despite his exhaustion, reached for the pendant around his neck. It began to glow with a brilliant, otherworldly light.

"My lord... it is time. I will bring you there now," Zac murmured. As the light engulfed them, both men slipped into an unconscious trance, their souls departing the physical plane.

Outside the door, Daisuke and Maverick had been listening intently. The moment they realized the astral travel had begun, they hurried through the halls to find Calista.

"They've crossed over," Maverick reported, his voice urgent as they reached the high priestess.

Calista stood ready, holding a small vial containing a shimmering potion. "Very well. Who among you will go first?"

Daisuke stepped forward without hesitation, raising his hand.

"Good luck, Dee," Maverick whispered.

Daisuke nodded solemnly. He extended his hand, revealing the dark, intricate mark of the Black Wolf etched into his skin.

"I can only hope this is enough to break the Nogitsune's curse," Calista said softly. She uncorked the vial and let a single, glowing drop of the potion fall onto the center of Daisuke's palm.

The Sacrifice of the Babaylan

FLASHBACK

"Don't hurt my son! Please, he's too young!" Hoshiko pleaded, but the dark fox remained deaf to her cries. Instead, the creature dissolved into a thick, oily black smoke and surged into Kaito's body.

"Kaito! Fight him! Don't let him control you!" Hoshiko screamed.

She watched in horror as Kaito's small frame began to stretch and warp. His clothes tore as his muscles expanded, his height increasing until, in a matter of seconds, he stood before her as a fully grown man.

"Kaito..." Hoshiko whispered, her voice trembling.

"You failed to protect your son, Shrine Maiden," the man said. It was Kaito's voice, but the laugh was cold and ancient. He looked down at her with cruel, glowing eyes.

Suddenly, an arrow whistled through the air, striking Kaito in the shoulder. A group of women emerged from the shadows, bows drawn and ready.

"Shoot him!" commanded the woman in the lead.

"Calista, no! He's my son!" Hoshiko cried, rushing toward the leader of the Babaylan.

Calista didn't lower her bow. "He is no longer your son, Hoshiko. I hit him with my purification arrow, and it didn't even burn him. He is the Nogitsune now."

"Help me, Calista. Please," Hoshiko begged.

"I will. But I have a plan," Calista said. She leaned in and whispered her strategy. Hoshiko's face went pale, her eyes wide with fury.

"I won't let you! This isn't a joke, Calista!"

"My decision is final," Calista said firmly. "I saw this in my vision. This is the only way for our future." Without another word, she turned and followed the Nogitsune into the dark.

When she finally caught up to him, Kaito turned, expecting an attack. Instead, he was stunned to see the powerful leader of the Babaylan sink to her knees before him.

"Why are you kneeling?" Kaito asked, his voice dripping with suspicion.

"My Lord... make me one of your servants," Calista replied, bowing her head.

Kaito threw his head back and laughed. "Interesting. You know exactly where to place your loyalty. I am the King of Darkness, and I will not decline. I need a powerful witch in my pack."

He lunged forward, his teeth sinking deep into Calista's neck. He didn't realize that Calista had already swallowed an ancient antidote—one that would allow her to keep her mind and her focus even while under his dark influence. She was deceiving the King.

"Rise, my servant!" Kaito commanded. "Summon the others to fight by my side!"

Calista stood, her eyes glazed with a fake obedience. She began to chant, her magic rippling through the air, summoning dark creatures to join their ranks. They marched until they reached the battlefield where her husband, Lucas, was leading the defense.

"Sir! Lady Calista has been captured!" a soldier shouted.

"What? Where is she?" Lucas cried, his heart sinking as he spotted his wife standing behind the enemy. He looked into her eyes, seeing the secret hidden there.

You are so stubborn, Lucas projected his thoughts to her. You actually went through with it!

I'm sorry, Calista's voice echoed in his mind. I have to do this for the safety of our child. To maintain the ruse, Calista released a massive wave of energy that sent the human hunters flying backward.

"The Bellator will be defeated soon!" Kaito cheered, watching the carnage.

Lucas looked around in despair. His fellow hunters were falling, and there was no sign of Cristine or Zanjo anywhere. The darkness was winning.

The Siege of the Ivory Kingdom

In the heart of the Tamawo realm, Ambrose finally found the clearing where Alya and the other victims were being held. He was about to move forward when a familiar figure stepped out from behind a shimmering pillar.

"Jasmine? What are you doing here?" Ambrose hissed, his eyes wide.

"Helping you, of course," Jasmine replied with a confident smirk.

"But how did you get here? Your body—"

"Aling Ara," Jasmine interrupted. "She's watching over us. She'll wake us up in two hours, but we have to move fast."

She pointed toward a group of prisoners. Ambrose followed her gaze and saw Alya and a young man being held down. Tamawo guards were forcefully feeding them handfuls of strange, ink-colored grain.

"We have to stop them," Jasmine whispered. "I remember what Monday told us: once a person eats the black rice of the Tamawo, they can never leave this world. They become one of them forever."

"You're right. You've certainly done your homework," a voice remarked from the shadows.

Jasmine spun around and let out a delighted gasp. Standing there were Catherine, Akihiko, and Baekhyun—the latter two in their sleek, powerful fox forms.

"Bestie!" Jasmine cried, throwing her arms around Catherine. They shared a brief, fierce hug, but the moment was cut short as their voices echoed through the quiet ivory halls.

"Intruders!" the King Tamawo roared, standing from his throne. "Seize them!"

Jasmine immediately whipped out her Weather Pipe, the metal glinting in the pale light. Beside her, Catherine flipped open her ancient Book of Spells, her eyes glowing with power.

"Kuya, go! Get Elijah!" Catherine commanded Akihiko and Baekhyun. "We'll handle the soldiers!"

"I've missed this, bestie!" Jasmine laughed, spinning her pipe with expert precision. "I only wish Jin Ae were here to see this."

"I'm going for Alya!" Ambrose shouted, sprinting toward the feeding ritual.

Catherine glanced at the muscular figure in disbelief. "Wait... is that Ambrose?"

"Yes," Jasmine sighed, even as she channeled her energy. "The annoying, muscular Ambrose." She swung her pipe in a wide arc, releasing a violent whirlwind that sent a dozen guards flying backward.

Catherine slammed her hand onto the ground. "Rise!" she commanded. Thick, thorny vines burst through the pristine floor, snaking around the legs of the remaining soldiers and pinning them in place.

From a high balcony overlooking the chaos, Kaito watched the battle unfold. A dark, twisted smile spread across his lips as his eyes locked onto the two foxes tearing through the guards.

"An orange Kitsune and a white Gumiho in the same place," Kaito whispered, his voice dripping with malice. "How very interesting."
