Chapter 194 - Chapter 194 - Betty's Wisdom

"Really, Gojo-kun?!"

"We're only a small company. Would joining us cause you any inconvenience?"

Kisara Tendo spoke with concern, but in reality, she was barely able to hide her excitement.

"Hmph."

"He's only registering under our company. Did you really think someone like him would get exploited the same way Rentaro does?"

From the kitchen, Enju Aihara could no longer listen and immediately complained to Kisara.

"I don't have any intention of doing that."

Having her little thoughts exposed, Kisara became slightly annoyed.

Gojo chuckled.

"Although I apologize, Miss Tendo, I still hope to carry out missions with Satomi-kun whenever possible."

"For me, the missions themselves aren't important. I mainly want to use this opportunity to experience the life of a Civil Security member and spend some time with friends."

"You know, we don't have any real pressure to survive right now. We might as well enjoy life while we can."

Hearing Gojo's words, a faint trace of disappointment flashed through Kisara's heart.

Fortunately, she had already prepared herself for this possibility from the beginning.

Gojo was only registering under her company. Someone as powerful as him had no reason to join a struggling little agency like hers.

Unless...

Unless he actually liked her.

Although Kisara was usually confident and knew that both her appearance and figure were exceptional, she still could not bring herself to have such an outrageous thought in front of Gojo.

Whether it was his looks, physique, or strength, he surpassed her by far. Having such narcissistic expectations would simply be unreasonable.

"I understand."

"I'll handle this matter."

Kisara nodded seriously.

"Once we return, I'll upload your information into our company system. You should officially become a Civil Security member by tomorrow."

"There's one more thing."

Gojo said this as he glanced at Betty beside him.

"I'd like to ask Miss Tendo to teach Betty how to read when you have free time."

"Teach her how to read?"

Kisara was genuinely caught off guard by the request.

From Betty's appearance, she clearly was not a Cursed Child. Attending school would not be a problem at all.

Even if she were a Cursed Child, as long as she did not reveal her abilities in public, ordinary people would never notice anything unusual.

Going to school and receiving an education would not be an issue.

Besides, judging from Betty's temperament and way of speaking, she did not look like someone who had never studied before.

"I..."

Kisara hesitated.

"I don't have any problem with it, but I don't know whether Betty is willing. Besides, Gojo-kun, shouldn't you be able to find a better teacher? I'm only an ordinary high school student."

"There's no difference."

Betty looked at Kisara calmly.

"It's only learning words. It won't take much time."

Seeing Betty's composed and confident attitude, Kisara did not know how to respond. She could only mutter inwardly.

What a confident child.

"I understand. I'll do my best."

"Thank you for troubling you, Miss Tendo."

"It's nothing. If anything, Gojo-kun is the one who helped me the most."

Being able to eat a hearty meal every day was currently the most important thing in Kisara's life.

After settling the matter regarding the company, Kisara no longer felt comfortable simply accepting Gojo's help without doing anything.

She went into the kitchen and began helping Rentaro Satomi prepare dinner.

The three people in the kitchen worked together, creating a lively atmosphere.

Before long, another extravagant dinner was placed in front of everyone.

After finishing their meal, Gojo once again left with Betty, just like the previous night.

He still had the matter he promised Seitenshi to handle.

He needed to send her the details, methods, and process of practicing magic.

As for Yang Attribute magic, Seitenshi had only just started learning. Unless she was some kind of once-in-a-generation genius, there was no need to consider that stage yet.

After organizing the information into a simple explanation, Gojo sent it directly to the contact information Seitenshi had given him.

It did not take long before a reply arrived.

"Thank you, Mr. Gojo. Would it be possible to trouble you to come again tomorrow? I would like you to guide me in my training."

As this was her first time practicing magic, Seitenshi was not confident at all. Without someone experienced nearby, she truly did not dare to continue on her own.

"Then let's do tomorrow morning. I'll message you after I wake up. Have someone come pick me up."

After arranging the time, Gojo returned to his room and stretched lazily on the bed.

"What are you thinking about?"

"Nothing."

"Ever since we came to this world, you've been acting strange. I feel like you have some kind of purpose, but I can't figure out what it is."

Betty sat down beside the bed and looked at Gojo seriously.

"Am I a parasite living in your brain or something?"

"Don't use such a disgusting comparison."

"Then tell me. What exactly are you thinking about?"

Betty stared at him with an expression that clearly said she did not believe he could fool her.

"Actually, I don't have that many thoughts."

"Some things are like how we inexplicably ended up in this world. There are things that simply can't be explained."

Gojo scratched his head helplessly.

Betty narrowed her eyes and thought for a moment.

"You mean Satomi Rentaro is also some kind of unavoidable factor?"

"That's a bit of an exaggeration, isn't it? I still had a choice regarding this. I just felt that staying by his side would be more interesting."

"And it's not like there aren't any benefits."

As he spoke, Gojo became more interested and sat up.

"Benefits..."

Betty seriously considered his words.

"Like what you have now?"

"No, no. Completely different. It's not even on the same level."

As a Great Spirit created by Echidna with hundreds of years of experience, Betty's intelligence far surpassed ordinary people's imagination.

At this moment, her mind was rapidly piecing together the fragments of information Gojo had revealed.

She connected every possible clue and searched for the answer.

After a while.

Under Gojo's expectant gaze, Betty slowly looked at him.

"The Ten Shadows Technique?"

"Divine Protection?"

"Bingo!"

Gojo gave Betty a thumbs-up.

Gojo had never displayed anything else. Whether it was Adaptation or any other ability, he had never revealed them.

The only clues were the two abilities he had obtained through exchanges before.

And Betty had lived up to his expectations, quickly noticing the connection.

Actually, before this, when she had not yet gone to Gojo's world with him, Betty had no way of noticing these clues.

After all, back in the Re:Zero world, she had no idea that Gojo came from another world.

If he was simply someone from the same world, suddenly gaining a Divine Protection later in life was not impossible. There was no reason for her to be overly surprised.

But after learning that Gojo was not from her world, everything changed.

When combined with the fact that Gojo possessed a hereditary Cursed Technique that no ordinary person could possibly obtain, everything began to make sense.

After arriving in the Re:Zero world, Gojo had gained these benefits through certain events.

"So Satomi Rentaro is similar?"

"You could say that, but it's not like I came here specifically for those things. It's also about adjusting my life."

"Besides, wouldn't it be boring if I just moved somewhere else and waited around doing nothing?"

"A lot of interesting things happen around Rentaro."

As Gojo spoke, Betty's eyes showed a hint of understanding.

If that was the reason, then everything made sense.

After spending so much time with him, Betty understood exactly what kind of person Gojo was.

Compared to someone serious like Reinhard van Astrea, Gojo, in the words of his own world, was someone who simply loved searching for fun wherever he went.

Making this kind of choice was exactly like him.

"Then does that mean you'll gain some incredible reward this time too?"

"I don't know yet. After all, we've only just arrived in this world."

Seeing that Betty had mostly figured things out, Gojo reached out and rubbed her head.

"But Betty really is smart. With only this little information, you managed to figure out so much."

"Hmph. You only realized that now? I'm not an idiot."

"Alright, we should sleep early today. We still need to go to the Holy Residence tomorrow morning."

"We're going again?"

"Yeah. I promised Seitenshi earlier that I'd guide her in practicing magic."

"We'll go find Satomi-kun in the afternoon."

"Got it. I'll listen to you anyway."

"By the way, can I obtain other abilities too?"

Betty looked at Gojo curiously, a hint of anticipation in her voice.

"Well, I'm not sure. Maybe not."

Gojo did not deny it outright. Truthfully, he did not know whether there would be opportunities in the future.

"Oh."

"Don't worry. If there's anything you're interested in, just tell me. I'll get it for you."

"Hmph. A man's words are always lies."

"Stop watching romance dramas!"

Because they had gone to bed early, Gojo unexpectedly woke up early the next morning.

He did not need Rentaro to call him. Instead, he personally knocked on their door.

"Good morning, Satomi-kun. We're here for breakfast."

The moment he entered the room, Gojo smelled the rich aroma filling the air.

"Eh? You're already almost finished preparing? What time did you wake up?"

"I only got up not long ago. Most of the preparation was done last night. This morning, I only needed to heat everything up."

Hearing the noise, Enju slowly got out of bed.

"It's almost ready. Let's eat first. Enju can join us after she finishes washing up."

"Miss Tendo isn't coming?"

"Her company is farther away, and she still has classes in the morning. I already prepared her breakfast and lunch before she left last night."

"How thoughtful. I'm sure Miss Tendo must feel very happy when she eats those lunches."

Gojo teased him.

Even Rentaro, who usually acted mature and composed, could not stop his face from turning slightly red.

"What happiness? She's only benefiting from the situation."

Enju immediately reacted the moment she heard Kisara's name, as usual.

"Don't say things like that."

Watching the two argue, Gojo happily began eating breakfast.

After finishing his meal, he took out his phone and sent a message.

Not long after, a car stopped beneath Gojo's apartment.

It was sent by Seitenshi.

After getting inside, it did not take long before he arrived at the Holy Residence.

Just like their previous meeting, Seitenshi was still wearing a long dress that complemented her gentle appearance.

However, unlike before, when she had been buried in paperwork at her desk, today she was sitting in her usual position, staring seriously at her fingers.

At her fingertips, a small, bright light flickered like a firefly.

The gentle-looking girl was completely focused on her training. She did not even notice Gojo and Betty's arrival.

"Miss Seitenshi, you're really diligent."

Gojo teased her.

Only after hearing his voice did Seitenshi finally react.

She quickly hid her hand and stood up, slightly embarrassed.

"Teacher Gojo."

"Eh? Your way of addressing me changed from yesterday?"

"Since you're going to teach me magic, calling you teacher is only natural."

Gojo blinked.

"When you put it that way, Miss Seitenshi, I suddenly feel a little pressure."

"Teacher Gojo, please don't use such formal titles with me. Just call me Seitenshi."

"We're around the same age, so you don't need to use formal language either. It feels strange."

Hearing this, Seitenshi smiled.

The information Gojo sent her last night had already been memorized completely. She had started practicing immediately and had not stopped until their arrival.

Gojo asked her about her experience with the training.

He also had her practice in front of him. After confirming that she had not made any mistakes, he gave her some guidance on the areas that needed improvement.

Seitenshi was extremely serious about learning magic.

Compared to handling official duties, practicing magic interested her far more.

Gojo spent the entire morning guiding her.

Only when afternoon arrived, around the time Rentaro and the others were about to finish school, did he prepare to leave.

He had them sent directly to Kisara Tendo's company.

It was still the same worn-down office.

Rentaro and Enju had not arrived yet.

However, Kisara was already there, sitting behind her desk and seriously reading through something.

"Mr. Gojo."

Hearing the noise, she raised her head and greeted him.

"According to the system, you've successfully registered under our company."

"You're no different from any other Civil Security member now."

"Is that so? Thank you for your hard work."

"However, in the evening, I'll still have to trouble Miss Tendo with teaching Betty."

"It's no trouble at all. Really, this is nothing."
