Sneasel's successful evolution into Weavile had kept Hisoka awake with excitement all night. This represented a qualitative leap in his overall strength, allowing him to temporarily shift his focus away from Weavile and concentrate fully on Feebas.
Lulu had recently undergone an evolution herself. She belonged to a three-stage evolutionary line, with her final form being Gardevoir, a Pokemon known to the people of the Hoenn Region as the Psychic Queen. To achieve that final evolution, Lulu still required a great deal of combat experience and rigorous training.
Her evolution required no items; it was simply a natural process that would occur once her strength had accumulated sufficiently!
Hisoka planned to pour all his energy into Feebas next. He couldn't be certain if his efforts would be in vain, as not every Feebas was capable of evolving. However, at the thought of Milotic's graceful and powerful form, he knew the effort was necessary. Even if he ultimately failed, Hisoka wouldn't be discouraged. At least he would have tried...
In the Hoenn Region, Feebas had another alias: the "clumsy fish." While Feebas was its official name, "clumsy fish" was the local moniker. Being ugly wasn't the issue; being clumsy was the defining trait.
Hisoka had placed Feebas in a meter-long fish tank. A laptop sat before the tank, its video player open to a precious recording Hisoka had obtained from the Sootopolis Gym's main computer.
In the video, a middle-aged man dressed in elegant blue attire appeared, sporting a neatly trimmed mustache and his signature white bangs swept high. This man was no ordinary figure; he was Juan, the Gym Leader of Sootopolis Gym and the mentor of the Hoenn Champion, Wallace.
He was not only a formidable Trainer but also a Master Coordinator. Holding both titles, he had mentored Wallace, the Hoenn Champion. Though he didn't have much fame in other regions, he was certainly no average person. It was simply a case of the student surpassing the master, as Wallace had completely overshadowed his mentor.
In the footage, Juan was smiling as he communicated with a Feebas in a pool. This Feebas appeared no different from any other, still presenting a challenge to conventional standards of beauty. However, Hisoka noticed a major difference: the Feebas's eyes.
Unlike other Feebas, which usually looked perpetually dazed, this one's eyes were full of joy. It showed no trace of timidity or timorousness; instead, it was filled with spirit, carrying itself like a pampered young lady.
Indeed, that was the exact expression Hisoka saw in the eyes of the Feebas in the video.
Juan knelt down and stroked the little head the Feebas offered him. With a solemn expression, he pulled a rainbow-colored, heart-shaped scale from his robes and gently handed it to the Pokemon.
The Feebas in the video grew even more animated with joy. It flicked its tail, leaping from the water to swallow the Prism Scale in one gulp. Upon splashing back into the water, it froze for a moment as if savoring the feeling, then suddenly wiggled its tail and dove toward the bottom of the pool.
The light of evolution began to envelop the entire pool. Juan's expression gradually relaxed, his mustache twitching slightly to reveal his good mood.
With only a few seconds left in the video, a dreamlike Pokemon resembling a beautiful sea serpent appeared. It possessed a breathtaking beauty that made humans stop and stare in enchantmentnot the beauty of the opposite sex, but the charm of the most beautiful thing in the world.
It had an elegant, slender body and cream-colored skin. Toward the end of its body, it was covered in alternating red and blue scales. Its tail was shaped like a four-leaf fan, bearing a resemblance to the tails of legendary dragons.
Red antennae extended from its brow to the top of its head like a crown. Furthermore, Milotic's fins appeared like long red hair, cascading over its shoulders like that of a young human girl.
The entire video lasted seven minutes. It was hard to imagine that the Feebas, which had challenged conventional beauty standards just seven minutes prior, could evolve into such a dreamlike creature in so short a time.
Hisoka was certain that if he leaked this video online, it would cause a massive sensation. The value of a Feebas would multiply exponentially in a short time, and poachers would go on a frenzy across the regions to capture them.
Noblewomen would find Milotic's beauty impossible to resist. Moreover, Milotic was the perfect Pokemon for a Pokemon Contest. Simply releasing it onto the stage would earn high scores without it having to move a muscle. There was no doubt that every Coordinator dreamed of owning their own Milotic.
"Can... can I really become... like that?"
A timid, childlike voice rang out in Hisoka's mind. It was the fifth time Milotic's evolution video had played, and the Telepathy Lulu had been maintaining finally received a response.
Hisoka, who had nearly fallen asleep on the sofa, suddenly bolted upright. He stared at the Feebas in the tank and asked, "Was that you speaking?"
"Ye... yes..."
Feebas seemed a bit frightened, but it no longer remained unresponsive as before. It gave a diligent nod.
Lulu had used Telepathy to link Hisoka's brainwaves with the Feebas's. This allowed the human and the Pokemon to understand each other's thoughts directly in their minds without needing to speak aloud.
