Chapter 33 - Starting the Plan

The next day...

"Good job, Raven! You did really well!" Claire praised.

Raven wiped the sweat from his forehead and smiled faintly.

"Thanks."

He lowered his gaze to his status panel.

Description: You have begun your journey as the most terrifying bastard in the world. Your very existence is an anomaly that should not exist. Your future is bleak, and no one can see it—not even the gods.

"Level 10? Not bad," he muttered with satisfaction.

Even though he had only gained three levels since the second mission ended, he was more than satisfied. The higher a person's level, the more experience points they needed to level up.

Besides, he, Rose, and Claire had only been hunting level 5 and 6 monsters, so the experience they earned wasn't all that much.

"Raven, what level are you now?" Rose asked as she walked over.

"I've already reached level 10. What about you?"

"Level 10?"

Claire and Rose exchanged surprised glances.

One of the requirements for a class awakening was reaching level 10. Since Raven had already reached it, he had fulfilled that requirement.

Rose quickly snapped out of her surprise. After checking her status panel, she replied, "I'm still level 8. I only need another hundred experience points to reach level 9."

Claire nodded.

"Same here. I need another two hundred."

"Good." Raven nodded, satisfied. "I won't awaken my class until both of you reach level 10."

The two women looked at him in surprise.

"Are you sure?" Rose asked. "Isn't that a little risky?"

Raven chuckled softly.

"Don't worry. It'll be fine. There's no rule saying I have to awaken my class as soon as I reach level 10. It might slow down my leveling for a while, but that's a trade-off I'm willing to accept."

Claire and Rose were deeply moved. Unbeknownst to them, the affection meters above their heads had each increased by five points.

Raven glanced at their affection panels. Claire now had 95 affection points, while Rose had 35.

"Not bad," he muttered quietly.

Before long, the three of them resumed hunting.

Before they knew it, the day had come to an end.

"I'm going to find a place for us to rest. Wait here for a moment," Raven said.

Claire and Rose nodded.

Fifteen minutes later, Raven returned after finding a suitable place to camp.

It was a hidden clearing with a narrow entrance only about fifty centimeters high.

To get inside, they had to crouch down.

"Wow!"

Claire's eyes sparkled.

"This place is incredible! Where did you find it, Raven?"

She looked at him in admiration.

The space wasn't very large, only about ten meters in length and twenty meters in width.

It was hidden behind a rocky wall, with a low, cone-shaped ceiling.

At one end, a small stream flowed through the area, providing a fresh source of drinking water.

Several glowing vines clung to the walls, bathing the cave in a soft light instead of leaving it completely dark.

"I found it while looking around earlier. So, what do you think? Do you like it?"

"We love it!" they answered in unison.

Raven simply smiled without saying a word.

The three of them began setting up their portable beds and the rest of their camping gear.

While Rose and Claire went to wash up, Raven got started on dinner.

The space wasn't very big, so if he turned around, he'd easily catch a glimpse of them.

Because of that, Rose made him promise not to look back.

If he dared to peek, she would gouge out both his eyes.

Raven simply waved a hand dismissively.

"Just hurry up and finish your shower."

As Raven continued cooking, the two women began bathing.

"Claire, I'm so curious. How can your breasts be so big?"

"R-Rose, shut your mouth! Raven's right there!"

"Pfft! Why are you so shy? Come on, tell me. What's your size? F? G?"

"I-I'm not telling you!"

"Heh... Let me guess. H? Or maybe even I? Considering my hand can't even cover them, I'd say they're around that size, right?"

The two women's playful banter made Raven tense up. His heart raced as desire slowly began to build.

He hurriedly recited Buddhist scriptures, doing his best to suppress the temptation.

"Damn it, Rose..." he muttered. "That woman really knows how to turn me on."

But he quickly calmed himself down. Sooner or later, both of them would end up in his hands.

When that time came, he wouldn't mind teaching Rose a little lesson and making her call him Daddy.

The thought made the corners of his mouth curl into a smile.

Half an hour later, dinner was finally ready. Claire and Rose had also finished bathing and quickly sat down beside Raven.

"By the way, I ran into some other players earlier. It looks like it's not just us and the two players you met who came to this cave. There are others as well," Rose said as she took a bite of a chicken drumstick.

"Oh? Where did you run into them?" Raven asked.

"About two hundred meters from here. They're split into two groups, with three people in each," Rose replied casually. "But they're no threat to us. I could tell from the way they fought."

Raven nodded silently. That wasn't surprising. After all, the entrance to this cave was enormous.

Suddenly, something crossed his mind, and his eyes narrowed.

"Since there are other players here, is it possible the people who abandoned you also came to this cave?"

The moment those words left his mouth, the atmosphere fell silent.

Rose stiffened, her breathing growing heavier. She had been so focused on hunting that the possibility had never crossed her mind.

Claire chewed her food, swallowed, then turned to Raven with a worried expression.

"What should we do?"

Raven swallowed the food in his mouth and smiled calmly.

"There's no need to worry. In the end, they won't be able to do anything to us. I guarantee it."

If this had been the Raven from three days ago, he might have been worried.

But not anymore.

After hunting for three full days, he had obtained an F-rank skill called Shadow Movement.

It was a skill he'd stolen with Gluttony. Just like its name suggested, Shadow Movement let him move as fast as a shadow.

Its cooldown was incredibly short—only two seconds. It barely used any mana, too.

Even though it was only an F-rank skill, it was surprisingly useful.

Seeing how confident he was, Claire finally relaxed and didn't say anything else.

Rose, on the other hand, stayed quiet, her expression unreadable.

After dinner, Rose and Claire washed the dishes in the nearby stream.

Meanwhile, Raven lay back on his portable bed.

He didn't go to sleep right away. He knew Reina would contact him sooner or later.

Once the dishes were done, Rose and Claire went to bed as well.

Before long, the cave fell silent. Even the monsters outside had gone quiet.

Then, a faint vibration came from Raven's pocket.

He slowly opened his eyes, and a small smile spread across his face.

"It's time."
