I decided to step backwards and enter a portal into the past.
[ The portal to the past with Ely and Lunar has begun ]
I discovered Ely was online and playing Phasmophobia. I decided to go on Discord and talk to her about me joining her. Ely agreed and after a while, Lunar also asked to join. Ely also allowed Lunar to join us as well.
Something was unusual this time, the moment I pressed 'play' for Phasmophobia on Steam using my laptop. My entire body got sucked into the laptop and suddenly it was like I was in the game itself. I became my avatar which was a freckled white man with ginger hair. He was a tall looking guy.
I looked in front of me and saw a bulletin board with 'Single Player', 'Multi Player', and 'Tutorial'. I felt a rectangular item in my pocket and grabbed to see that it was my phone. I pressed 'Multi Player' on the digital bulletin board and entered the 6 digit code to join Lunar's lobby.
I wanted to tell my friends that I got sucked into the portal but I couldn't because this light blue hologram in front of me was telling me something.
[ You are prohibited from saying this ]
I scratched my head and decided to talk to my friends like we were playing Phasmophobia normally. Once the lobby started, the view was the same as in the game except for me, it looked more higher graphics than usual.
On the bulletin board in the front, there was a gray duct tape on the top that said 'multiplayer'. There was a photo pinned that had a question mark on it. A notebook paper that read this:
[ Choose a contract
Vote on a contract using the board to the left. If the vote is tied, the contract will be randomly chosen between those voted on. ]
The difficulty level was also written on a notebook paper and it was on professional mode. There was also a large paper on the right of the bulletin board that listed the items in the white van which the Phasmophobia creators called the truck.

There were four IDs in the middle. Each of us had a photo of a different avatar that we were using in the ID. It displayed our levels and the experience that we had. It also showed our names as our Steam usernames too. There were circles in the ID for decorative purposes.
On the board to the left showed many photos displaying each of the maps they were. They each had labels beneath the photograph. There were 14 different maps in total scattered throughout the board. The randomizer photograph was in the center of it all.
The map we picked was "6 Tanglewood Drive". Ely clicked on their mouse to put the green little tape on the photograph of Tanglewood. We typically choose Tanglewood round as our beginner round.
[ Teleporting to the lobby ]
My perspective was always facing towards the metal floor. I looked up and saw a bulletin board with strips of notebook paper stating the tasks and missions for this round. I turned to my left and saw the video camera computer that would be used to check if there were ghost orbs or not. I discovered that my friends grabbed some equipment and already went into the house.
I looked to the right of the bulletin board and saw four television screens. One was the map of the Tanglewood house where you can see the entire floor of the base floor and the basement. The second screen to the right of the map screen was the sound sensors. I honestly have no idea how they work but it's a feature in the game. There were four different volumes lined up horizontally.
On the bottom right hand corner was the Total Activity of the ghost. It was like a line graph where the Y axis says 'strength' and the X axis says 'Time in Seconds." The bottom left hand corner showed the team sanity, the lower our sanities were, the higher chance that a ghost would spawn and hunt us to death.
It seemed like Lunar grabbed a lighter, incense that looked like branches of stick held together, a modern looking small camera, and a spirit box which looked like a walkie talkie but it was bigger than usual. Ely took a freezing temperature thermometer, a recording tape, and a brown old looking notebook for ghost writing.
I chose to grab the EMF 5 which looked like a phone since it was in the highest tier that Lunar had, incense, a lighter, and the DOTs scanner which looked like a traffic light but was all green and could rotate from left to right. Each of us looked at a room in the house.
Lunar looked in the bathroom, I looked in the living room, and Ely looked in the basement. We eventually discovered that the ghost was in the basement so we put our equipment to check what type of ghost it is in the basement. The DOTS scanner was set up on the wall to scan as much room as possible. The EMF 5 was left turned up and tossed on the floor.
The Ghost writing notebook was set on the floor and we eventually saw the ghost writing. Lunar took a photo of it to get money in the game for having evidence that the ghost exists. Ely was unable to get the sound recording of it since they weren't in the room when it occurred.
Lunar turned off the light in the basement and used the Spirit Box. You had to ask three specific questions to get an answer from the ghost, otherwise it wouldn't give you an answer. Lunar eventually heard the ghost after talking to the Spirit Box and Ely was successfully able to get a sound recording of it.
We waited for some time by trying to get media evidence by placing salt so the ghost could step on it. Lunar took photos of the salt and I decided to get a video camera in which I was able to record the ghost stepping into the salt. Lunar grabbed a headlight to get even more evidence. Ely was able to record the ghost blowing out the fire meanwhile I was able to record it blowing out the fire.
Eventually we saw the ghost walk through the DOTS and discovered the ghost was a Deogen. After completing all the media and the three tasks on the bulletin board in the van.
[ Task: You must die by a ghost ]
I would get on the van if it wasn't for this hologram blue screen showing up to the left side of where I was standing. I decided to stay in the dark so it would hunt me, so I turned on the light in the basement. I wasn't holding any incense at all. It would be on purpose for me to die by a Deogen because you can easily avoid death by one.
The Deogen began hunting and my friends were confused on why I was still in the house by myself. I quickly walked up to the Deogen to let it kill me. The ghost possessed me and choked myself to death, it was more suffociating than I thought it was.
My friends were confused and looked in the house to discover that I was dead. "He purposefully killed himself? Why would he do that?" Feeling confused, after they saw my body, they closed up the white truck and ended the round.
My body slowly disappeared and I could feel my legs at my own house again. This was a phasmophobia round that never really happened. Since I would normally never allow myself to be killed. I found myself back in the present day and thought to myself that the phasmophobia round was just in my imagination.
It was nice to spend time with my old friends who had blocked me already. I missed spending Phasmophobia gaming time with them. However I could not do anything about it except feel nostalgia of the old times. This was how I died in the 252nd round.
