When Su Qiuzhi woke, her whole body ached, as though she'd been beaten black and blue.
Oh. Well. It seemed she really had been beaten.
Her hands were bound behind her back by some kind of artifact, the skin at her wrists faintly hot from struggling. Her legs were pinned down as well, her whole body trussed up like a rice dumpling, unable to move an inch.
What unsettled her more was the pitch-blackness before her eyes—something had been used to cover them.
And then, bit by bit, her memories came flooding back.
Moonlight, courtyard walls, mangled flesh, dead fish-eyes bulging from their sockets—and that man who had abruptly turned his head toward her in the darkness.
Su Qiuzhi's body tensed involuntarily.
"Awake?" A calm voice sounded not far away.
Su Qiuzhi clenched her teeth and said nothing, thinking furiously instead.
Her situation could not have been clearer—she had stumbled upon the secret of that so-called "Imperial Academy medical apprentice," and the other party obviously had no intention of simply letting her walk away.
But what she couldn't understand was this: if that Gu fellow truly meant to silence her, she should already be a corpse by now, not sitting here bound to a chair, waking up perfectly intact.
"If you wanted to kill me, you could have done it just now."
Su Qiuzhi forced her tone to sound composed. "Tying me up and blindfolding me—you're trying to pry something out of me, aren't you?"
The voice seemed to carry a trace of surprise, and then Su Qiuzhi heard footsteps drawing nearer.
"I mean you no harm. I blindfolded you because, until I've confirmed your identity, I can't let you see what I look like right now."
"Confirm my identity?" Su Qiuzhi let out a cold laugh. "You—a man of unknown origins hauling a corpse over a wall in the dead of night—what right do you have to confirm my identity?"
The words came out righteous and full of bluster.
But only Su Qiuzhi herself knew that her back was already soaked through with cold sweat.
The horrific state of that corpse still lingered in her mind, impossible to shake—those were absolutely not wounds left by any ordinary struggle. The man had been blasted into a lump of mangled flesh. The perpetrator before her was vicious and cruel beyond anything she could have imagined!
All she could do now was maintain her surface calm as best she could, and wait for an opportunity.
Gu Chengming was not angered by her attitude.
In fact, his attention at this moment was not entirely on Su Qiuzhi.
During the time she had been unconscious, he had already employed the Red Dust Art to construct an illusory realm and glimpse fragments of her memories.
Those fragments were incomplete—the Red Dust Art's ability to peer into memories was limited to begin with, especially while the target's spiritual consciousness still lingered. What it could capture was little more than surface emotions and images. But even so, it was enough.
He had seen Su Qiuzhi's experiences within the Harmonious Joy Sect, seen the girl struggling to survive beneath Su Xiashao's radiance, and seen her feelings toward the Harmonious Joy Sect—feelings so tangled that even she couldn't sort them out.
Resentment and love intertwined, like most people raised under a Chinese-style upbringing talking about their family of origin.
But this only gave Gu Chengming more of a headache.
If Su Qiuzhi were an enemy, things would actually be simple—silence her, or capture and interrogate her. The Night-Watch Bureau had no shortage of means for handling that sort of thing.
But of all things, she was an innocent, ordinary disciple, one who had merely had the bad luck to see what she shouldn't have.
Couldn't kill her, couldn't release her, deceive her...
Gu Chengming glanced at this Harmonious Joy Sect female disciple before him—bound up tight, all stubborn mouth and guilty heart—and decided to try reasoning with her.
He sat down in the chair across from her, keeping his tone as even as possible. "Have you ever wondered why the Harmonious Joy Sect's Yin-Yang Fish suddenly fell out of balance?"
Su Qiuzhi didn't respond, but she tilted her head ever so slightly—a sign that she was listening.
"The sect has been sealed off for over a month now. The Sect Master and the elders have struggled to suppress it, with little effect. As a core disciple, you must have felt the anomaly running through all of Red Dust Mountain, no?"
"So?" Su Qiuzhi's tone was still guarded, though with a few degrees less hostility than before. "You're saying you came to help? Helping by killing people and dumping bodies in the middle of the night?"
"That man was from the Eternal Life Sect."
The words made Su Qiuzhi freeze despite herself, her mind suddenly thrown into disorder.
Gu Chengming briefly recounted what had happened that night in the forbidden grounds of the Twin Yin-Yang Fish Formation.
He said someone had infiltrated the forbidden grounds with a command talisman, attempting to use a black bead radiating death-energy to make contact with the phantom image of the Yin-Yang Fish. He said the aura on that bead was identical to the rotting death-energy unique to the Eternal Life Sect. He said the imbalance of the Yin-Yang Fish might not be a natural calamity at all, but something someone was secretly stirring up.
Su Qiuzhi listened quietly, not saying a word.
When Gu Chengming finished, he fell silent for a moment, awaiting her reaction.
"That sounds nice, but who's to say you're not just another member of the Eternal Life Sect?"
"And what you most need to explain is why you were there in the dead of night too."
"What's more, if you really want me to trust you—forget untying my bonds, you could at least let me see something."
Gu Chengming didn't answer.
He could sense Su Qiuzhi's true emotions—the Yin-Yang Creation Strategy was exerting its unique effect at this moment.
As a Harmonious Joy Sect technique, it possessed an extraordinarily keen perception of the desires and emotions buried deep in a person's heart, and especially within the Harmonious Joy Sect's own domain, thick with Red Dust Qi, this perception was amplified to the very extreme.
Su Qiuzhi's mouth claimed disbelief, but the emotions in the depths of her heart were far more complex than her words.
Gu Chengming sighed, reached out, and undid the artifact covering her eyes.
The strip of cloth binding the blindfold was removed, and Su Qiuzhi squinted, taking a moment to adjust in the dim candlelight. Then she saw clearly the person before her.
The instant that face entered her vision, Su Qiuzhi's mind felt as though someone had pressed the pause button.
This was not "Gu An."
That utterly unremarkable apprentice's face from the daytime—the kind you could toss into a crowd and never find again—had completely vanished, replaced by a face from which Su Qiuzhi could not tear her gaze.
Deep-set brows and eyes, sharply defined features, poised just right between the keen and the gentle.
The candle flame reflected in his pupils, refracting a bearing of considerable charm—not the deliberately manufactured, rakish flamboyance so common among the male cultivators of the Harmonious Joy Sect, but something that seemed to emanate from his very bones, wholly natural and effortless.
You couldn't say exactly what was good about it, but it simply left one unable to look away.
Su Qiuzhi opened her mouth, and all the interrogations and accusations she'd prepared clogged into a wad of cotton in her throat—she couldn't get a single word out.
"You..." Her voice shrank without her meaning it to. "You don't... you didn't really look like that, did you?"
It was a fairly stupid thing to say, but Su Qiuzhi's mind genuinely couldn't turn over at this moment.
Her heart pounded in her chest like a war drum.
Thump, thump, thump.
Each beat louder than the last. She had the absurd feeling that the ropes just now had bound not her hands and feet but her heartbeat—and now, with the blindfold removed, even her pulse had spiraled out of control.
Gu Chengming had not yet noticed anything amiss.
He was still organizing his words, thinking about how to persuade this Harmonious Joy Sect disciple before him in the most concise way possible.
"Miss Su, everything I said just now is fact. The Harmonious Joy Sect has already been infiltrated by the Eternal Life Sect, and the Yin-Yang Fish's imbalance is by no means coincidental. I need your cooperation, at least in—"
"I believe you." Su Qiuzhi cut him off.
Gu Chengming was slightly stunned. "What?"
"I said, I believe you."
Su Qiuzhi turned her face away, not daring to look at his face again.
...Just like that?
No, wait—a moment ago it was "what right do you have" and "aren't you from the Eternal Life Sect," so how had she suddenly come to believe him?
Gu Chengming instinctively used the Yin-Yang Creation Strategy to verify the other party's emotions... and then sensed a rather peculiar feeling.
Ah. He roughly understood what had happened.
Gu Chengming raised a hand and touched his own face. What his fingertips met was not that supremely mediocre "Gu An" visage, but the contours of his own original bone structure.
Earlier, when he had exchanged blows with that Eternal Life Sect member inside the Twin Yin-Yang Fish Formation, the punch he'd thrown with the Hundred Bones Resonance erupting at full force, spiritual power surging like ten thousand streams returning to the sea...
The force of that Hundred Bones Resonance punch had been too violent; the drastic fluctuation of spiritual power had directly scattered the disguise technique Li Suizhuang had maintained on his face.
And he, hurrying all the while to dispose of the corpse, sweep away traces, and deal with Su Qiuzhi, had completely failed to notice this.
[The Hundred Bones Resonance seems a little guilty.]
—Gu Chengming, you really do rely too much on that Super Hundred Bones Resonance.
Gu Chengming sighed. Things had come to this; regret was useless. Restoring the disguise technique required Li Suizhuang to operate it personally, and right now the most pressing matter was handling the situation on Su Qiuzhi's end.
"You said just now that you believe me—do you mean it?"
Su Qiuzhi still kept her face turned aside, refusing to look at him, but she nodded.
"Then I need you to do a few things."
Gu Chengming's expression turned serious. "First, do not reveal anything you saw tonight to anyone. Second, keep an eye out for suspicious people or events within the Harmonious Joy Sect. Third—"
"I can agree to cooperate."
Su Qiuzhi suddenly turned her head, cutting him off. Her eyes were faintly red-rimmed, whether from having been unconscious so long or from some other reason, it wasn't clear.
"But I have one condition."
Gu Chengming frowned slightly. "What condition?"
Su Qiuzhi drew a deep breath. Her expression was that of someone making the most momentous decision of her life. In truth, she thought she'd gone mad herself. Only a quarter of an hour ago, she had been so terrified at having stumbled upon a murder scene that she could barely breathe. And now, merely because she had seen this man's true face, she had already begun calculating how to turn this crisis into a worthwhile bargain.
But the thing was, the technique Su Qiuzhi cultivated belonged to the Harmonious Joy Sect.
Enter the mortal world through the Red Dust, prove the Dao through emotion—from the very first day they stepped onto the path of cultivation, disciples of the Harmonious Joy Sect were taught not to resist the desires and emotions within their hearts, but to face them squarely, embrace them, and master them.
If a Harmonious Joy Sect disciple didn't even dare to admit when her heart had been stirred, then she could forget about ever advancing so much as half a step along the great Dao of the Red Dust.
So at this moment Su Qiuzhi faced the voice in her heart with utter honesty.
—This man, she wanted him.
"Once this is done!" Su Qiuzhi said, biting off each word. "Dual cultivate with me!"
The instant the words left her mouth, Su Qiuzhi forced herself not to lower her head, even straightening the back that was bound to the chair, lifting her chin, striving to maintain the dignity befitting a core disciple of the Harmonious Joy Sect.
The room fell quiet for about three breaths.
Gu Chengming looked at her, his expression shifting from an initial slight daze into a kind of "just as I thought" resignation.
[The Yin-Yang Creation Strategy issues its highest directive.]
A line of bolded, enlarged red text suddenly surfaced in the dialogue box before his eyes.
[DUAL! CULTIVATION! PERMITTED!]
Damn! Zhouli uses gold bold text, and you use red bold text, is that it?
So where did you two learn this trick?
[The Zhouli Heavenly Harmony Righteous Heart Method, a little guilty, turned its head aside.]
While he was inwardly interacting with the technique, the Su Qiuzhi before him seemed to have misunderstood something, thinking Gu Chengming meant to refuse, and added a condition: "Plus a hundred thousand spirit stones!"
Su Qiuzhi's voice came fast and urgent, as though she feared that a moment's hesitation would rob her of the courage to say it: "Once this is done, dual cultivation, plus a hundred thousand spirit stones!"
[The Hundred Bones Resonance, on the contrary, calmed down: A hundred thousand spirit stones... how many top-grade body-tempering pills could that buy?]
[It said happily: Dual cultivation should just be cultivating together, right? This person really is a fool. Heavenly Emperor Gu, hurry and agree to her.]
—Hundred Emperor, stop playing the fool.
Gu Chengming grumbled inwardly and began weighing the pros and cons.
From a rational standpoint, Su Qiuzhi's value as an ally was indeed considerable.
She was a core disciple of the Harmonious Joy Sect, intimately familiar with the sect's internal personnel relationships, its terrain and layout, and its patrol patterns.
Moreover, her own Third Realm cultivation was nothing to scoff at, and in certain situations that required Harmonious Joy Sect techniques to complement, having her there to coordinate would be far more efficient than fighting alone.
More crucially, Su Qiuzhi had already seen his true face and the corpse of that Eternal Life Sect member.
If he couldn't pull her into his own camp, then she would be an enormous destabilizing factor.
Never mind whether she might let something slip—the mere fact of her going missing for too long would be enough to arouse alarm within the Harmonious Joy Sect.
Once someone began investigating Su Qiuzhi's whereabouts, following the trail thread by thread, the truth behind this "Gu An" would sooner or later be dug up.
So cooperation was a must. As for that condition...
Gu Chengming opened his eyes again and looked toward Su Qiuzhi.
The latter was staring at him nervously, wearing an expression that said, "If you don't agree soon, I'll raise it to two hundred thousand."
Su Qiuzhi did indeed harbor that very thought—though she didn't have two hundred thousand spirit stones on hand, she could always borrow, couldn't she?
She had once looked down her nose at Harmonious Joy Sect disciples who took out loans for dual cultivation, but now she truly understood: wasn't a person's whole life lived for a moment like this?
If Gu Chengming had known what was going on in her mind at this moment, he'd probably have just said: Speechless. Can't hold a conversation with you. Textbook Harmonious Joy Sect thinking.
Gu Chengming thought to himself, so now he'd sunk to the point of unlocking a CG with someone before a single dialogue box had even triggered.
And in the very instant he thought this, a dialogue box suddenly appeared before his eyes.
[Piercing Insight activated.]
[Option One: Agree.]
[Option Two: Don't agree.]
Damn, you went offline this whole time just to wait for this moment, huh.
Gu Chengming felt somewhat drained. He figured he'd agree first—perhaps there'd be some other solution later—and so he said:
"Fine."
[Piercing Insight reminds you: Su Qiuzhi's favorability +20.]
—You didn't have this function before?!
Su Qiuzhi, however, had utterly not expected him to agree.
She opened her mouth, and the whole long string of price-hiking maneuvers she'd prepared jammed up in her throat, leaving her at a complete loss.
"Then... then it's settled." Her voice was so small it was almost as if she were talking to herself. "You—you're not allowed to go back on it."
Gu Chengming nodded, crisp and decisive.
Then he reached out and untied the rope from Su Qiuzhi's wrists.
The instant the knot came loose, a faint ring of red marks was revealed on Su Qiuzhi's wrists. She rubbed them, lifted her head, and met Gu Chengming's calm eyes squarely.
Their four eyes met, and Su Qiuzhi's heartbeat spun out of control once more.
"...Then I'll head back first." She stood, her steps a little unsteady. "Dawn's almost here. If I don't go back soon, I'll be found out."
The night was about to recede; along the horizon a faint, faint fish-belly white had already begun to spread.
A cool breeze poured in, setting the hem of Su Qiuzhi's robe fluttering and snapping.
She drew a deep breath of the cold, dew-scented air, and her mind—overheated by the atmosphere in the room—finally cleared a few degrees.
And then she suddenly realized something.
—She seemed to have actually snatched a man out from under her sworn sister.
At the same time, a female voice sounded in her head.
[You really intend to spend a hundred thousand spirit stones to dual cultivate with him? Has the Harmonious Joy Sect already inflated to this degree?]
"You don't cultivate the Red Dust Art, you don't understand!" Su Qiuzhi retorted with her divine sense inside her mind.
[I helped out before the Red Dust Art even came into being—how could I not understand? You've just let your lust hijack your brain!]
"So what if it has?" Su Qiuzhi huffed. "Besides, I felt it with the Red Dust Art—he's a good man."
[The thought that the Harmonious Joy Sect's future will one day be handed to people like you fills me with grief and heartache.]
Amid the bickering and squabbling, the sky gradually brightened.
When daylight fully broke, Li Suizhuang returned.
The moment she pushed open the door of the wing room in the Quiet Contemplation Court, her whole body visibly sagged with relief.
Gu Chengming was sitting perfectly fine at the table, a pot of tea long gone cold beside his hand, along with that black bead wrapped layer upon layer in silk cloth. He looked neither injured nor as though his identity had been exposed and he'd been seized by the Harmonious Joy Sect's upper ranks.
"Good, you're all right."
Li Suizhuang strode in quickly, laying down a sound-isolating barrier along the way, her white hair drifting gently with the motion.
After the Twin Yin-Yang Fish Formation's alarm had sounded, she had been left behind by the three elders at the Council Pavilion, then chased all the way toward the forbidden grounds, only to be stopped by patrolling disciples—circling around for most of the night before she finally found an excuse to slip away.
"How are things with the formation?" Gu Chengming asked.
"After the elders rushed to the forbidden grounds, they found no trace of any intruder, only that the fluctuations of the Twin Yin-Yang Fish Formation were somewhat more violent than usual."
Li Suizhuang sat down across from him, straightening the robe collar the night wind had disheveled. "Senior Sister Yun Ni suspects that the worsening imbalance of the Yin-Yang Fish itself triggered the formation's warning. Elder Kurong held reservations, but, lacking any evidence of an outsider's intrusion, in the end he could only set the matter aside for now."
"It seems that Yin-Yang Fish not only shielded me, but wiped away the traces that Eternal Life Sect member left behind as well." Gu Chengming was thoughtful.
"The Eternal Life Sect?" Li Suizhuang's expression turned abruptly grave.
Gu Chengming briefly recounted what he had discovered in the forbidden grounds the night before—the suspicious cultivator who had infiltrated deep in the night, the black bead radiating death-energy, and how that man had tried to bring the bead into contact with the phantom image of the Yin-Yang Fish.
Finishing, he pushed the wad of silk cloth on the table toward Li Suizhuang. "This was searched off that man's body. Take a look."
Li Suizhuang carefully peeled back the cloth, revealing the utterly black bead within.
"This is indeed the handiwork of the Eternal Life Sect. And its grade is not low—it's a filthy thing that only an Eternal Life Sect cultivator of the Fifth Realm or above could refine."
"And the man?"
"Dead. Killed with one punch."
Li Suizhuang raised her eyes and glanced at him, a flicker of complexity passing through her gaze.
She of course knew that Gu Chengming's combat power far exceeded his cultivation realm, but the offhand tone with which the four words "killed with one punch" came out of his mouth still left her at something of a loss for words.
"And the corpse?"
"Dealt with. It won't be found."
Li Suizhuang nodded, not pressing for the details of the disposal. It was only when the morning light spilled in through the window lattice that she brought up another matter:
"Chief Banner Officer Gu, your disguise technique—it's failed."
Gu Chengming sighed. "I know. It was probably when I made my move in the forbidden grounds last night—the fluctuation of spiritual power was too violent, and it scattered the technique on my face."
After hearing this, Li Suizhuang stared at Gu Chengming's face for a good while.
"That's not right."
"What's not right?"
"If it were merely a fluctuation of spiritual power scattering the surface salve and the silver-needle molding, then only the outer layer of the visage should have failed—meaning your features would be distorted, but not to the point of your original appearance being completely restored."
She stood, walked before Gu Chengming, and lifted her hand, her slender fingers nearly pressing against his cheekbone. "May I touch it?"
"Go ahead."
Li Suizhuang's fingertips lightly touched his face, spiritual power seeping from her fingertips beneath the skin. After a moment, her fingers stilled.
"What is it?" Gu Chengming saw that her expression had turned a little off.
Li Suizhuang didn't answer at once, but confirmed it two more times over before withdrawing her hand and stepping back. Her expression had become quite subtle.
"Chief Banner Officer Gu, what I applied to you was not an ordinary disguise technique."
She weighed her words. "Ordinary disguise merely alters the visage—enough to fool the naked eye and no more. In a place like the Harmonious Joy Sect, where masters are everywhere, the divine sense of any Fourth Realm cultivator sweeping over you could easily see through such surface camouflage. So what I used was a technique I comprehended from the Harmonious Joy Sect's secret canon, called the Red Dust Veil. This technique not only changes the appearance, but more importantly—it can mask the aura signature all around your body, and even, to a certain degree, blur karmic sensing."
She paused, looking into Gu Chengming's eyes. "In other words, as long as this technique is running, even if a Fifth Realm great cultivator probes with divine sense, all they'll perceive is an utterly ordinary low-rank rogue cultivator—not Gu Chengming of the Night-Watch Bureau."
Gu Chengming's heart sank.
A technique like that could not possibly be completely dismantled by a single fluctuation of spiritual power.
Li Suizhuang's words confirmed his suspicion: "And it shouldn't have affected the deeper-layer aura masking and karmic blurring. But I just checked—the technique traces of the Red Dust Veil have been completely erased. Not scattered, not destroyed, but... 'wiped away.'"
Li Suizhuang drew a deep breath. "A power capable of doing something like this is at least beyond the Fifth Realm, and within the Harmonious Joy Sect's domain..."
The two looked at each other, arriving at the same answer at the same time.
The Yin-Yang Fish.
Gu Chengming leaned back against his chair, tilting his head up to stare at the grain of the wood on the roof beam, sinking into deep thought.
If it was the Yin-Yang Fish that had wiped away his disguise technique... why?
Last night in the forbidden grounds, the Yin-Yang Fish had actively shielded the disturbance he'd caused, helping him conceal the traces of the killing, even wiping away the residual aura the Eternal Life Sect member had left behind. Judging from these acts, the Yin-Yang Fish bore him no hostility—it even seemed to carry a faint hint of "protection."
But protection was one thing, and stripping his disguise bare was another.
No matter how he thought about it, the logic between these two things felt contradictory. Unless...
The imbalance of the Yin-Yang Fish was, in essence, yin-energy strengthening and yang-energy waning. And the Harmonious Joy Sect cultivated the great Dao of the Red Dust, entering the Dao through emotion, proving the Dao through desire. Out of instinct, the Yin-Yang Fish would seek out anything that might help it restore balance—this was Li Suizhuang's earlier analysis.
So then, what could most effectively stir up the "yang-energy" within the bodies of Harmonious Joy Sect disciples? Or, more bluntly—what could, within this sect that entered the mortal world through the Red Dust and proved the Dao through emotion, stir the most surging, turbulent waves of feeling?
The answer was all but leaping out already.
The Yin-Yang Fish was not helping him. Or rather, not entirely helping him—it was using him.
An imbalanced, yin-flourishing, yang-declining innate spirit-creature, instinctively searching for a way to restore its balance.
It had sensed the aura of the Yin-Yang Creation Strategy within his body, and through some means perceived that charm on him that the "Red Dust Veil" had been suppressing—and so it had made a choice.
Shield the traces of his killing, provide him protection, keep the Harmonious Joy Sect's upper ranks from discovering this intruder. But the price was—erasing his disguise.
Let him show his true face. Let those thirty points of charm be utterly released within this sect that entered the mortal world through the Red Dust and proved the Dao through emotion. Let the disciples of the Harmonious Joy Sect experience the most intense emotional turbulence toward him.
And the Red Dust Qi and yang-energy stirred up by these emotional waves would flow back into the Yin-Yang Fish's body through the Twin Yin-Yang Fish Formation—becoming nourishment for its restoration of balance.
After thinking all of this through, Gu Chengming's expression became truly spectacular.
"Physician Li, this disguise... can it be restored in a short time?"
Li Suizhuang shook her head, her expression none too pleasant either. "Casting the Red Dust Veil requires specific materials and environment. That salve and those silver needles I refined in advance back in the Capital—the consumption is enormous, and I only brought one set on my person."
She paused, adding: "What's more, if it truly was the Yin-Yang Fish that wiped away the technique, then even if I recast it, it could simply erase it again. Within the Harmonious Joy Sect's domain, beneath the range shrouded by the Twin Yin-Yang Fish Formation, the Yin-Yang Fish's ability to interfere with any technique within the formation is very nearly limitless."
"In other words, so long as I remain within the Harmonious Joy Sect, there's no way to restore the disguise."
"...I'm afraid that's so."
[The Red Dust Phantom Body Formula, having heard it all, analyzed calmly: There are three matters of pressing urgency. First, find the Eternal Life Sect's network of insiders within the Harmonious Joy Sect as quickly as possible, and complete the gathering of evidence before your identity is exposed. Second, control the scope of contact with Harmonious Joy Sect disciples, minimizing the impact. Third, find a way to determine the Yin-Yang Fish's true intentions.]
—The external brain is putting in the work again.
Gu Chengming looked at the Red Dust Phantom Body Formula's analysis, yet found himself involuntarily lifting his head to gaze at the ceiling.
He couldn't shake the feeling that things were growing stranger and stranger.
No matter which link had gone wrong—or had gone wrong ahead of schedule—it should never have developed to this degree.
But that was exactly the result: a character with a charm value as high as thirty points, placed without the slightest concealment inside a Harmonious Joy Sect whose techniques had run out of control and whose lusts were impossible to restrain.
What was this supposed to be—tricking a man into the Harmonious Joy Sect, was that it?
