Gabriel swiftly leapt forward, catching Cheng Cheng in mid-air as if catching a cannonball.
"Get out of the way!"
Cheng Cheng hadn't been embraced by Gabriel when she already roared in anger and pushed him away, flipping over to land on the ground.
But even when she touched down, her steps staggered slightly.
"Cheng Cheng..."
"Shut up!"
Cheng Cheng turned her face, shooting Gabriel an angry glare.
"I was worried you'd get hurt, so I caught you. And this is the thanks I get…" Gabriel grunted, glaring back at Cheng Cheng. "I should have known better than to bother with you."
"I didn't need your help in the first place!" Cheng Cheng brushed her lips lightly with the back of her hand, looked at the fresh blood on it, then raised her head with a sudden change from anger to a smile.
"You have grown stronger, Chen."
Gabriel coughed behind her. "Cheng Cheng, look here."
