Above their heads, an armed helicopter roared as it flew by, unleashing a volley of rockets at a gigantic turtle on the road. Amidst the flames and thunderous explosion, the turtle's shell was blown to smithereens, and it collapsed to the ground.
Following the armed helicopter, there was the heavy sound of tank treads rolling over ruins.
Inside the city of Los Angeles, such scenes were commonplace. The US forces had mobilized, with at least five heavy divisions from the Army alone, not to mention the Air Force and Navy's aerial strength, as well as the Marine Corps and National Guard.
It could be said that nearly all of Southern California's military strength had now been concentrated around Los Angeles, and additional troops were still arriving continuously.
"What do you guys think, will the US forces reach the zoo first, or will the coordinates be displayed first? Care for a bet?" Roddy looked at everyone around him with a grin.
