Ludwig's establishment of a secure passage at the crossroads didn't actually take up much time, but the enemy wouldn't need much time to retreat either; a few minutes were sufficient for everyone to get up from their beds and flee for their lives. The blockade formed by the three helicopters was obviously not enough to keep the enemy pinned down and unable to escape at all times.
